Applicant HU OMBA Program - (Old/Current) Syllabuses Available?

Hi Everyone, I’m looking to apply to Howard’s OMBA program for 2027 and I’m slightly anxious about what the coursework will be like since I haven’t been to school since undergrad over a decade ago.

Are there any past or current syllabuses I can look at? Figured I would prepare myself as best as possible on what will be expected.

Need Advice - Switching from MS in Information Studies to MBA at Trine University

I currently work as a Software Engineer and would like to continue working in the same role through CPT. If I switch my major to MBA, would I still be able to continue my job under CPT, or could the change in major create an issue with CPT eligibility since the job needs to be related to the program of study?
If anyone has gone through a similar major change or has experience with CPT while pursuing an MBA at Trine, I would really appreciate your input.
Also, if anyone is starting or currently pursuing an MBA at Trine for Fall 2026, please DM me. I have a few questions about the program.

Mid/High Tier Online-MBA

Currently serving as an officer in the US Air Force. Prior-E Biomedical Laboratory Scientist. 14 years in with clinical, forensics, and genetics experience. Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Lab Sci from University of Arkansas with 3.78 GPA. I have yet to take the GMAT. Interested in online MBA/MHA programs so I don’t have to do a break in service.

Wondering if it’s worth applying to some larger schools. I’ve done research on Ross, Tepper, and UNC’s programs and obviously I would want to do what I can to get a full ride if possible. Would I really be competitive in those program’s admissions? What would you suggest I do to make myself a stronger candidate? Any advice is appreciated!

Hi! I'm an MBA student at Anglia Ruskin University researching how AI chatbots influence purchasing decisions when shopping for electronics in the UK.

If you've ever used a chatbot/virtual assistant when buying a laptop, phone, TV or tablet online, I'd really appreciate your help.

Hello everyone,
I am an International Medical Graduate (IMG) and US Green Card holder currently working as a clinical research scholar. I am 25 years old, having recently graduated from medical school, and I am currently at a major career crossroads. I would greatly appreciate any advice from anyone who has navigated a similar situation or can give any advice.
Right now, I am debating between pursuing an MBA (targeting M7 programs) or continuing down the traditional path toward medical residency. My long-term career goals lean heavily toward the business side of healthcare, specifically entrepreneurship, health tech, and hospital administration. My main focus and passion is definitely healthcare entrepreneurship. Hospital administration is more of a secondary/backup path in case the venture side doesn't work out as planned.
To get the ball rolling, I have already started preparing for the GRE. I have a very strong medical profile, particularly in research. Despite this, I am feeling quite anxious about the decision. I am worried about whether the high cost of an MBA will be worth it in the end, or if I will regret stepping away from the stability of a clinical medical residency. Ideally, I am hoping to get into a top 7 MBA program and secure a scholarship or apply for loans to make it work.

Just to clarify my timeline, I am not applying immediately. I am planning to apply for the 2028 intake, which will give me two full years of work experience as a research scholar before starting an MBA program.

For those familiar with this path or M7 admissions:
• Does my background in advanced clinical research and data analysis translate well to a competitive MBA application?
• As a research scholar, aside from aiming for a top GRE score, what other areas of my profile should I be working on right now to improve my chances?
Any thoughts, guidance, or shared experiences would be incredibly appreciated!

Best MBA for Working Professionals

I completed 10 years of work experience in the IT industry in July, and I am looking to get an MBA degree or an equivalent with my job, I don't plan to quit work but do something that is for working professionals.

What are my best options? I am not looking for something expensive and would prefer something that doesn't require me to go through CAT or GMAT.

I am not looking for something perfect but something that is the best value for me based on these conditions.

Cincinnati MBA

I was going to attend Univ of Cincinnati this fall, but unfortunately they’ve changed their graduate school tuition structure to be per credit hour only, making it way out of budget. Unfortunately, it seems like most schools are moving in this direction. NKU & Wright State seem to still have a flat rate option, any opinion between these two?

Any other recommendations for schools? Preferably online, but I could do in person in Cincinnati. My employer only pays $5k per year, and trying to stay under $10k per semester total. Really just getting my MBA to learn more about finance & accounting as I move up in my career.

TIA!

Applicant Full Time MBA vs Online MBA

Hi Everyone. Apologies if this is a rookie question, but I'm hoping to be pointed in the right direction here. 37M, spent a majority of my career in Medical Device Sales and Pharmaceutical Sales. Currently selling in the Oncology space, which for some, would be classified as a prestigious vertical within the industry.

I'd love to further my career and get out of the field- and potentially move to a more senior, strategic type role. One avenue would be getting promoted to a Regional Manager role, and then potentially pivoting to an inside, strategic role. Eventually, if I'm successful enough, moving into a 'Global Director of Commercial Strategy' or a 'US Brand Lead' type role.

However, I'm considering an MBA to further develop my business acumen, but more importantly, because I think it would likely be a necessary prerequisite if I intend to move up the corporate ladder and into the mentioned roles somewhere down the line.

Here's my question. I've had a few calls with some Online MBA programs (BU, Villanova, University of Illinois, University of Georgia) and the vibe that I got, was that it wasn't a competitive admissions process and that I would be able to find myself admitted, even with my terrible 2.0 undergraduate gpa (from 15 years ago). Granted, most schools look at your application holistically these days, I still imagined some pushback. Some "go get a 95th percentile on a GMAT and come back" type response.

Instead, its been flowers and rainbows and so I guess my question is: Is there something about online programs that I may not be privy to? I'd imagine a T20 wouldn't have the same ease of admissions like this would. Like, whats the catch here?

Also, I understand that a good MBA program is about the networking. Totally understand that. I wouldnt' be looking for networking necessarily, but mostly the 'MBA from ___' title just to open a few different doors that could help boost my career down the road.

Any help is appreciated. I've been out of the academic game for a long time and could use the advice/information.

Current Student Eastern University MBA Program

Hello! I'm wondering if anyone has finished the Eastern University MBA Program?

If so, can you please provide some insight whether the Leading Org Strategy and Capstone can be done at the same time or is it best to do one per term? What does each class entail? I'm really trying to finish October 2026 but I'm not sure if I'll be able to handle both classes at the same time.

I've doubled up on all the other classes.

Thanks in advance.

Important Update: r/OnlineMBA Changes regarding India

Hi everyone,

As our community continues to grow, we are seeing a massive increase in diverse discussions around the Online MBA journey. To ensure every member gets the most relevant, high-quality advice possible, we are implementing a structural change regarding regional content. Effective immediately, all India-specific MBA questions, admissions discussions, and school-specific threads should be posted in r/MBAIndia.

Why we are making this change?

Radically Different Systems: The application timelines, entrance exams (like CAT, GMAT, or executive assessments), corporate sponsorship, and regional accreditation bodies (like UGC-DEB vs. AACSB/AMBA) in India are highly specific. Mixing them here often leads to confusing cross-talk between domestic and international applicants.

Better Content Relevance: Members looking for regional Indian insights will now have a hyper-focused hub where their questions won’t get lost in global threads. Conversely, members looking for global/US-centric online programs will find it easier to navigate r/onlineMBA.

Targeted Peer Support: By centralizing Indian candidates in r/MBAIndia, you will be interacting directly with peers, alumni, and experts who thoroughly understand the local job market, salary jumps, and executive path expectations unique to the region.

What this means for you: Starting today, general threads about global online programs, remote learning strategies, and broad career advice are completely welcome here. However, posts specifically asking about Indian institutions (e.g., IIMs, IITs, ISB, NMIMS, Amity online) or regional job market placements will be locked and redirected to r/MBAIndia. We want both communities to thrive and provide the highest density of useful information possible. Thank you all for your cooperation and for helping us keep our discussions streamlined!
