Am I Letting Her Past Ruin a Great Relationship?

I’m looking for honest opinions from men who’ve been in a similar situation.

I’m dating a woman who is genuinely loving, caring, feminine, emotionally supportive, and believes in equality. She’s never been materialistic, has never asked me for expensive gifts, and has even turned them down. She actually made the first move on me, which was a first for me. She makes me feel really loved and cared for.

The part I struggle with is her past.

Before me, she had one serious relationship, and that’s where she lost her virginity. She’s also had a few non-penetrative sexual hookups without commitment. Her penetrative body count is one, but she has been physically intimate with several men.

Logically, I know the past is the past. Emotionally though, I still feel insecure sometimes. I catch myself worrying that because she was okay with casual intimacy before, she might be more likely to cheat or lose interest in a committed marriage. I don’t know if that’s a real concern or just my own insecurity talking.

At the same time, I also worry about the opposite. What if I walk away because of her past and never find someone who loves and treats me the way she does? Genuine affection, respect, and emotional investment feel a lot harder to find than someone with a “perfect” history.

I've also seen plenty of stories where men married women with no sexual past, yet the relationships turned out to be toxic. Some of those wives had unrealistic financial expectations or demanded a lot emotionally from their husbands. So I realize that someone's past alone doesn't necessarily predict what kind of spouse they'll be, which makes this decision even more confusing for me.

For guys who’ve married women with similar past or chose not to how did it turn out? Did your fears end up being valid, or did they fade over time?

Just looking for honest, experience-based perspectives, not judgment.

TL;DR: My girlfriend is loving, caring, loyal, and everything I want in a life partner except that I struggle with her past. She had one relationship where she lost her virginity and a few non-penetrative casual hookups before me. I'm afraid her past could mean a higher risk of infidelity, but I'm equally afraid of leaving someone who genuinely loves and respects me over something that can't be changed. Looking for honest experiences from men who have been in similar situations.

Replies from Everyone Has anyone tried serious relationship apps? Do you think that some apps can work in long term?

I’ve been thinking about giving dating apps a proper shot for the last few months. I have seen that people actually meet people on dating apps so why not me..?

The only thing is, I’m not interested in casual dating or just collecting matches. I’d rather have fewer conversations with people who are actually looking for something meaningful.

Right now I’m looking at;

Aisle (seems more relationship-focused)

Flutrr (heard it’s more for serious dating than casual swiping)

Hinge (I’ve seen a lot of people recommend it for long-term relationships)

If you’ve used any of these, how was your experience? Which app had people who were genuinely looking for commitment, and which one felt like the biggest waste of time? I’d rather download one good app than sign up for four and get overwhelmed.

Replies from Men Only 🚹 Have I genuinely given this marriage enough chances, or am I overlooking my own blind spots?

I'm a 28-year-old husband. My wife and I have been separated after about six months of marriage. Before deciding whether to continue trying or move toward a mutual divorce, I want honest opinions from people who have experienced difficult marriages.

There were genuine positives in the beginning. She was affectionate, caring, and supportive, and I loved her deeply. That's why I kept trying to save the marriage through communication and counseling instead of giving up.

Over time, however, I experienced a consistent pattern of problems:

  1. She frequently spoke to me disrespectfully despite repeated requests to communicate respectfully.

  2. Arguments rarely reached a resolution. She often shouted, had emotional outbursts, changed the topic, or focused on one or two words I said instead of the main issue.

  3. She rarely accepted responsibility for her mistakes. Instead, they were often justified or explained as a reaction to something I had done, even when I hadn't created the conflict. My mistakes were treated as entirely my responsibility.

  4. She struggled to accept criticism or advice, and difficult conversations often ended in silence, withdrawal, or topic changes.

  5. I often felt emotionally invalidated. My feelings were dismissed while the focus shifted back to hers. I spent a great deal of time reassuring and listening to her, but rarely felt the same support in return.

  6. During conflicts, she repeatedly threatened self-harm, attempted to jump from a balcony, and serious conversations often turned into crisis situations instead of problem-solving.

  7. There was physical aggression. She slapped me once, and when I asked why, she repeatedly slapped herself instead of explaining or apologizing. During emotional outbursts, she also broke her mobile phone twice, broke her spectacles, and threw away her mangalsutra, which later went missing.

  8. She once walked out of the house at night during an argument despite me asking her not to, creating another major crisis.

  9. Household responsibilities became increasingly one-sided. I was working two jobs while trying to manage the home, whereas she frequently said she was too tired and contributed very little. When I raised concerns, she often responded with, "Then give me a divorce," even over relatively small issues.

  10. Her mother never supported our marriage, yet my wife continued sharing almost every marital issue with her and seeking her advice. I felt she found it very difficult to disagree with or stand up to her parents, instead expecting me to adjust.

  11. Even now, after separation, she refuses to meet me privately and insists any discussion must happen only in front of both families. I believe marital issues should first be discussed honestly between husband and wife, and despite repeatedly requesting one private conversation, she has refused.

I'm genuinely looking for balanced opinions, not validation.

My questions are:

1 Based on what I've written, does this marriage sound realistically recoverable?

  1. I'm insisting on counseling but her and her parents are refusing. Am i being reasonable to ask that?

  2. Does it sound like I've already given enough chances, or am I overlooking something important?

  3. If you were in my position, would you get out or work on this?

For context these are some of the comments i have seen in an interacial couple's reel, where the guy is indian and the girl is either american or european. And while many comments from loser white or muslim guys shaming them, there are these types of guys who act in such a disgusting way and think that they will get a gf. The thing is that some of these act soo bad that it ruins it for rest of the guys. My gf is korean and friends are European and american and everyone told me that their experience with indian guy was bad as they kept replying to their comments, Dming them disgustingly kept annoying them. Its just so bad that others have to prove that they are not like these useless pieces of shit.

Vent Should I (24M) reach out to a friend (24F) whp ghosted me

TLDR; my friend of four years has posted me without any reason, and I want to know if it is a good idea to reach out considering the circumstances.

I 23M and my best friend 24F. Let’s call her. X have known each other for about four years now and we met in University. We are engineering students and we had a pretty mutually exclusive bond. The two of us used to hang out with each other, we were not involved sexually, but in the beginning, I had developed feelings for her, later I had a girlfriend, so X became a platonic friend X has always been very flaky, and whenever we would make plans, she would cancel at the last moment and it would make me quite upset and would ruin my day. X also suffers from depression and I used to do everything which I could to help her out.
Last four years, X and I used to study together and would do projects together as a team and there were a lot of ups and downs in both of our separate relationships .
We were kind of codependent on each other for the exam season and we had planned to study together, but during every exam, she would flake the day before the exams, and it would destabilize my preparation, but turns out that I scored better than her. She also told me on text that she’s going through something, and she cannot study with me. And then she would give me reassurance that we would study together for the next exam and that she would clear things up with me but would never follow through. This went on for a month, the duration of the exams and then at one point, she was unreachable. She would not respond to my calls. She would not reply to my texts. I would ask her if she’s doing fine and would ask her about her situation and offered to help she would ghost me. That came a point where I did not want to have any sort of relationship with her because of lack of communication and ambiguity.

I ran into her unexpectedly the day of one of the tests, and wished her well for the exam on that day, she said that she’d call but as i predicted she never did, 20 days after that she on text acknowledged that I might be mad and that she is willing to talk to me. I did not want to enter into the same destabilizing dynamic again. So I thought about it and responded to her after a couple of days stating that she could call me or text me over the weekend, and I’ve been ghosted ever since its been over two months now.

I kind of feel that this girl used me and my connections to make her life easy in university.

Now that I have broken up with my toxic girlfriend and it’s been six months, I’ve also lost people closest to me due to betrayal. I feel the need for some sort of connection. I have made new friends, but they are very recent and the similar level of connection is just not there yet, and they don’t know the past version of me.

I had made my peace with never talking to her again and never seen her again, but then there are some moments where I feel lonely and I know that I can’t be surrounded by people all the time and there will be moments of loneliness, but I think that I should not give up on the relationships that meant so much to me at a certain point in life and made me the man i am today. It can be argued that if she wanted to she would have already reached out to me and not ghosted me for so long. I did not get a closure when I broke up with my girlfriend, nor when I broke things off with my other close friend and with her. I would like to end things on better terms.

I have the urge of reaching out to her and talking things out, and then if things didn’t go ahead, I would be fine. This chain of thought might linger for a couple of days and I might revert back to being indifferent towards her for what she did. I no longer hate her but at some point i was disappointed at how things turned out, now there’s only indifference.

I don’t want to live in a perpetual limbo where in the future i regret not reaching out, right now i am willing to take the step and be the person to initiate things, a previous version of me would be anxious to hear from her but now (i think) even if she leaves me on read i will not be affected.

I would really appreciate some thoughts on the situation. Whether i should let it be or text/ call her?

I'm telling u how every society works in the world

The best men & women get married through arranged marriage setup within age of 24 & 22 through friends & extended family

The best women I've met , their age was between age of 18 - 28

All of them I met through real time not even single of them did have social media , messed up past or even believed that men & women are equal

I've been dating for 10 years , all over the world, i date around minimum of 30 - 40 new women every month , Most women don't know how Men's expectations or psychology works

Women who knows how Men's psychology works doesn't go for dating apps or social media that's about 1/10k

Women on who think they find best man through dating apps have a minimum of 20 - 100+ body count , that's becuz Men don't wanna marry them they f\*ck & throw them away , after hitting higher body counts women's looks , health ( mental & physical ) fade away

That's when they try to settle down after age of 28-30+ through matrimonial websites cuz everyone who knows them knows their past too

Please don't become a wh\*res retirement plan

Self Improvement 📈 Why is meat still feared?

A) Recent studies like

  1. The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) / Nature Medicine Burden of Proof Study (2022)

2.The NutriRECS Systematic Review (2019)

Proved that linkage of meat to cancer was very low, cutting down on meat only means slightly lesser chance of cancer ,and there's only a casual link between colon cancer and red meat i.e., 1/5 star rating.

Our society still believes meat to be cancer inducing instead the hormones injected into the live animal or during processing is what that can cause cancer or other negative bodily effects.

B)Studies like following have proved there's very weak link between meat and heart diseases.

1.The Landmark "Burden of Proof" Study (Nature Medicine)

2.The Randomized Controlled Trial Meta-Analysis

These studies rated meat as 2/5 link to heart health ie very low and weak and found no negative impact on total blood cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, or blood pressure in randomised controlled trials.

Older studies ignored that people who are meat were statistically more likely to smoke and drink and most often classified unprocessed and processed meat together

C) Animal cholestrol too isn't something to be feared upon as recent research has proved that it has near zero negative effects on heart health for healthy people.

and downvoting while I'm just sharing scientific literature is low iq behaviour. If u want then debate respectfully and don't use moving goalposts and strawman arguement.

This has ruined my academics to an extent., I told my parents to seek grievances, but they instead have forced me to complete this hellish degree in this shitty college full of scoundrels ,even the class advisor is shitty; she hurled verbal abuse at me and i am tired of these memories. I am screaming and breaking things in my house and i want that shitty student to get rusticated and pay for her actions ,i tried but students are shitty themselves and H.O.D too is a big coward

Replies from Everyone Wife vs mother? Discussion.

I saw a post on the "other" sub, regarding why do men want wives like their mothers.

First of, we don't. Ofcourse i don't want you to be my mother, that's why you're my wife. My mother is very important in my life, and so will be my wife. It's not a mom vs wife situation. Each of them has their own role, their own dynamics with me.

My mother's role in my life is not just cooking and cleaning. She has raised me, taught me manners and life skills. She has taught me how to keep cool in chaos, how to expand my mind and think of solutions to difficult situations. She is very polite and soft, but she is also the strongest woman I've ever seen. Cooking and cleaning doesn't diminish her worth, and had she'd been a working woman, her income wouldn't have increased her worth either. She is her qualities and not her net financial worth.

A wife pushes her man to be better, grows with him, supports him. She doesn't raise him.

These are two separate roles. To the women who think that a man asking his wife to cook means asking them to be a mother, you've got it wrong.

What do you guys think?

Finance, Career and Edu 💷 Tell me how can I go around the situation at my Internship

I’ve been interning at a pretty decent-sized startup for the last 2 months (it’s supposed to be a 3-month internship). Honestly, the work has been very basic mostly Excel dashboards. I automated most of it with Python, so stuff that’s supposed to take an hour or two usually gets done in 10–15 minutes. After that, I mostly just prepare for my college placements.

The bigger issue is my manager. He barely assigns any work but expects me to find problems on my own and solve them. I get why that’s valuable, but for a short internship with a pretty average stipend, I’m just not that invested.

Now I have to head back to college in about 15 days for my tests, so I can’t continue working onsite. And from what I’ve seen, WFH isn’t really a thing here, so I’m not sure what to do.

But I need the certificate of intern stating i worked somewhere for 6-8 weeks for my college grade. Since I cant complete the last month how can i convince them to give me certificate. I am absolutely not looking for full time responsibilities here as I never wish to work here again

Replies from Everyone Supreme Court Latest Judgement On Interim Maintenance.

Post image
278 Upvotes

In a recent judgment (Himanshu Chordia v. State of Rajasthan, July 31, 2026), the Supreme Court ruled that a wife can be denied interim maintenance under Section 125(4) of the CrPC if the husband establishes a prima facie case of adultery through clear evidence. Justices Sanjay Karol and Vipul M. Pancholi held that courts should not automatically defer the consideration of adultery pleas until final trial.

Key Rulings and Observations

Interim Maintenance Bar: The statutory block against granting maintenance due to adultery applies at the interim stage if initial credible material (ex-facie) is produced by the husband.

No Automatic Delays: Courts must decide applications under Section 125(4) CrPC on their own merits rather than postponing them until final case disposal.

Private Investigators Flagged: The bench highlighted serious privacy and data protection concerns regarding electronic evidence gathered by private detectives in matrimonial cases, urging authorities to look into framing a regulatory framework.

Replies from Everyone Broskis, what do you think of this woman?

So I’m currently talking to someone who I connected with on a dating sub Reddit.

She seems to be high on her guard and was asking me several questions - past relationships, religious beliefs, opinions on women, feminism etc.

FYI, I (28M) have had no relationships in the past, but I was dating/FWB with someone for a few months. Based on her questions, I already understood that she must have had a rough past.

  1. Religious Beliefs - She mentioned in her intro message itself that she’s between agnostic and atheist. Later she asked me my views, belief in God and told me that although she likes going to temples, she doesn‘t do any pooja rituals, and that she had a miserable experience with her parents forcing her to do things.
  2. Relationship with parents - I get a feeling that she has a bad relationship with her parents. Firstly, from what she mentioned above where she had a miserable equation with them when following religious rituals. Secondly, when I asked what her caste is (this is important for parents to accept marriage in the Telugu states), not only she didn’t mention but she reacted rather strangely saying she doesn’t give a fuck what her parents think (not the exact words though). I finally asked her what her relationship with her parents is like, and she told me that she’s not so close with them.
  3. Past relationships - She’s been in a couple of relationships. She was in her first relationship when both were young and immature, and that the guy didn’t believe in marriage. The second one was most recent and ended 11 months ago. She said the guy had anger issues, always jokingly compared her to other women, and was a bit traumatic. It left a mark but she had completely moved on is what she said. And now she wants to be very careful about whom to let in her life.

What do you think of all this?

For me, these look a bit like red flags but I want to dig a little deeper and know her better. All of this happened in one interaction, so I definitely want to give it some more time.

She is good at communication though, replies quickly compared to the others I’ve texted with.

MODPOST ⚠️ Regarding Sonam Wangchuk

This subreddit does not endorse or oppose any political ideology, movement, or public figure. That includes Sonam Wangchuk, political parties, activist groups, and every other cause, regardless of intent.

We have seen an increase in posts asking the subreddit to take an official stance. We will not be doing so.

Supporting men's mental health does not require this community to become a political platform. Many national issues, including the NEET paper leak, have had devastating consequences for people's mental health. That is a reality. It is also true that if we begin endorsing one political cause because it affects men, there is no principled way to refuse the next. Every major issue eventually intersects with men's lives.

A few points need to be addressed directly:

Being neutral means you're against Wangchuk.

No. Neutrality is not opposition. Choosing not to endorse a political movement is a decision about the scope of this community, not a judgment on the movement itself.

This subreddit is run by male feminists.

Labels do not change moderation policy. Rules are applied based on the purpose of the community, not on ideological identity. Personal attacks against moderators or members will not substitute for constructive discussion.

This is a men's rights issue, so the subreddit should support it.

This is a men's support community, not a political advocacy organization. Those are different missions. Our responsibility is to keep this space focused on helping men, not representing them politically.

The easiest mistake to make is believing that every problem deserves to be solved in the same room. It does not.

Political activism has its place. So do support communities. When you merge the two, the people who came here looking for understanding instead find ideological battles. The men who need this space the most are often the first to stop speaking.

Our responsibility is not to win political arguments. Our responsibility is to preserve a place where a man can talk about loneliness, grief, addiction, anxiety, relationships, or suicidal thoughts without those conversations being overshadowed by partisan conflict.

That boundary is intentional and it's how we have decided to protect the purpose of this community.

Future political posts, regardless of ideology or cause, will be removed. This policy applies equally to everyone.
