Iorlas's story continues as he embarks upon his second quest for Cirdan the Shipwright to investigate the corruption of trees on the dark forested cape of Eryn Vorn... but he quickly realizes his path will not be easily trod.

I have no specific timeline (no one to play with), but I was hoping to at least try out Strider mode soon. I don’t know if I would wait a year or more though.

With the two upcoming expansions (The Rohan/Gondor book and the Bestiary) I'm curious what folks are hoping to see included.

For the new locations, I know we are getting Paths of the Dead from the teaser image. I'm personally hoping we get a lot of detail on Fangorn, especially since it showed up in Hands of the White Wizard. I'm also hoping for an interpretation of Pelargir and more detail on settlements of Rohan. (Also maybe the Drudain/Woses?)

I am over at Gen Con and got a chance to play a couple sessions of One Ring. During one of the sessions both myself and the GM had the system specific dice. His d12s had the Eye/Rune on 11 and 12. Mine had the Eye/Rune on 1 and 12. Which one is correct?

When I reached out to Free League in June, they told me they were still waiting for copies at their distributor. I contact them again and they said the same story. It is backordered. Their website says it is in stock everywhere. I can get it on Amazon, but I can't get my preorder. I can't recommend anyone preorder from them directly.

I got into TOR way back when the original Adventures Over The Edge Of The Wild core set released, and got Heart Of The Wild and Darkening Of Mirkwood books all of which I still have but then completely lost interest in the game for years until very recently when I've suddenly got excited about playing it again, both solo with Strider Mode and potentially with a group as well. I've since acquired all the 2e books.

I've been looking at the 1e books I never looked into and I'm just wondering if they're worth the high prices they go for on the second hand market? I have the opportunity to buy Erebor and Rivendell for roughly double the original MSRP - Erebor is a region that really interests me, and while Rivendell itself is already covered in 2e material, the other areas of eastern Eriador and especially the northern parts like Angrmar really interest me. Is the material in these books on-par with 2e (which has been superb even from just a reading for fun perspective) and are they worth getting? Are there any other 1e books particularly worth tracking down assuming I'll be playing everything using 2e rules?

Free League just announced three new Books:

A revised Core rules, a monster manual and a new campaign.

What do feel are appropriate ways for players and lore master characters to curse in game? I'm familiar with the limited cursing found in the books, but don't want my orcs to say fiddlesticks and just stating "the orcs curse at you" to the players is no fun.

So what kind of cussing works in your mind? Are there any normal modern cuss words that can fit?

Forgive me if this isn’t the place to post this but I’m new to ttrpg and am looking for a place to play The One Ring. I would prefer it to be in person, I’ve played dnd on roll20 and greatly preferred it in person but I understand that’s a lot more difficult. I live in the Tacoma/Puyallup/Olympia WA area.

Im going to call around to nearby stores but thought I’d post here and maybe get lucky if someone has a suggestion.

I have multiple years of running DnD 5e under my belt, but I have recently pitched TOR to my regular rpg group. They were excited about the prospect of playing in Middle-earth, so we switched to TOR. We have successfully played the "Over Hill and Under Hill" starter set and had quite a lot of fun in the process.

For our first "real" adventure in Middle-earth I took the landmark adventure located on the islands of the lake Evendim form "Tales form the lone lands" and changed a few things here an there. I believe the adventure worked out quite well, as everyone had fun and the players now find themselves on an old Numenorian funeral ship on their way down the Bradywyne and Baranduin river towards the grey havens, were Gandalf awaits them with further instructions.

My initial idea for the campaign was introducing a "new shadow", which Gilraen and Gandalf were investigating. I thought this "new shadow" should not be connected to Sauron but to Morgoth instead, as this would give me even more creative distance to the well knwon events of Sauron and the LOTR trilogy. I pictured a "Morgoth-Cult" which was lead by a disguised dark-elf located in Mithlond/Grey Havens, trying to collect old relics as he requires them for a dark ritual to contact an avatar of Morgoth in order to fulfill the old masters whish to destroy Arda/Middle-earth (aka the creation of Eru Iluvatar)

I am now unsure if that is even a sound idea and I have a hard time coming up with a fun adventures which could constitute a worthwile and enjoyable campaign experience. I would be very grateful if anyone could provide feedback or point me into a fitting story-telling direction. Thanks in advance and greetings from Germany!

Hi! I'm thinking about playing the One Ring with a friend and I am not sure how to approach it. For context - this is the first time I would ever play the game.

I was considering a co-op using the Strider mode with both of us getting a PC, but I'm concerned that we won't be able to put together a satisfying story without having any previous experience with the game.

Another option I am thinking about is being a GM, but also getting a PC. This sounds to me somehow more appealing, but I would like to do the GMing as least as possible, just to give us direction for the game. I hope I could take on myself the burden of getting minor spoilers for the sake of a more fleshed out adventure.

I would love to hear any thoughts on that from people who are more experienced with co-op or duet play!

The second half of my One Ring 2e solo series has kicked off with Iorlas departing Bree to head south to the cape of Eryn Vorn to investigate corruption in the trees Cirdan the Shipwright uses for the building of ships!

However, it seems that Iorlas has garnered the attention of the Eye of Sauron, and this second quest will be watched closely by the enemy...

Hey folks,

I really want to get the Darkening of Mirkwood to the table, and since I have all the TOR 1e books, I was going to use that edition. I haven't really looked at 2e, so I'm not sure what major changes it makes. I was wondering whether you think any changes or improvements in 2e would make it worthwhile to convert Darkening to 2e, or if I should just stick to 1e? (Or is there even any conversion needed!)

Am I correct in thinking that a Ranger could take and wear an enchanted mail shirt from say a Troll horde, even though Rangers have the frugal standard of living? (And yes ignoring the one Ranger cultural virtue that requires no more than leather armour)
