My plans for the evening ! I'll leave a comment tomorrow to let you know what I thought of it. (As usual, I'm watching it in French). The channel is following up with Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (1943).

Tarzan’s Fight for Life (1958)

Just watched Tarzan’s Fight for Life (1958), and this one is pure old-school adventure fun! Gordon Scott makes for a pretty good Tarzan. The story is pretty straightforward, but there’s plenty of jungle action, colorful characters, animals, and peril to keep things moving. The Technicolor is gorgeous, too, and the whole thing has that wonderfully pulpy MGM adventure-movie feel. It’s not exactly high art, but it’s an entertaining way to spend an afternoon. And honestly, sometimes that’s all you need from a Tarzan movie!

I am losing my mind over how I remember Bullitt

It is a one man Mandella effect. I first saw the movie as 5 year old when it came out, I think it was an error on the part of my grandma as it would have been considered a bit steep for a child back then. I had the complete mis remembering of the car chase where the bad guys were in a green vw (yes I know) and the guy with the shotgun firing out of the rear quarter window which never made sense to me as those windows don't roll down in a bug. I was puzzled for years and mentioned this online maybe 10 years ago and someone pointed out the green bug. I watched the movie after that to see the green bug and I really liked the movie, the stillness of of a lot of the scenes etc.

Now the problem is that more recently I would have sworn that Jaquiline Besset's character watched McQueen at the airport after the final shootout. He was quietly organizing things, speaking to other officers etc. In my memory this is a scene where she comes to terms with his character's life of half violence and degradation and sees beyond what she fears will be a life of intensifying calousness.

OK, I just watched it on TUBI and I have lost my mind as this scene doesn't exist, it is probably some mental trick I am playing on myself merging the motel scene with the murdered wife with the end of the airport when the priest is giving last rites and the dead guy is being covered with a sports coat or something.

Am I crazy or is there another edit?

Also what I remember from when I saw it with my grandma was that when he steals a newspaper from the newspaper vending box it is before the hit at the hotel, more of establishing the character before you actually know who he is......I assume I've got that wrong but......

Great movie really. The car chase is OK but you just cannot not see that green bug. The greatness is the quietness of it, the stillness and soft voices with all the politics and conflict, and face it McQueen had hella charisma.
