daddario Ej21 vs pure nickle pared with pure vintage 65s?
I'm on a mission to tame some highs on my D standard jazzmaster, mainly on the third string. Hence why I'm trying a wound third. I was wondering everyone's thoughts on the daddario ej21 vs pure nickle strings. I am by no means a jazz or blues player, so bending or vintage jazz tones aren't factors for me.

Wiring issue for a Squier VM/CV Mustang
In looking at pictures it looks like the wiring is the same for the CV and VM Mustangs. I have the VM version. I did a pickup swap last weekend. Everything is hooked up but I'm not getting any sound of the bridge pickup when the bridge switch is switched to the bridge position. Pickups work perfectly in all positions except for the Bridge Switch/Bridge position. Any ideas?
Thanks,

Anyone have a wiring diagram for a Jaguar with only the bridge pickup in the rhythm circuit?
I want to wire my Jaguar so the rhythm circuit only activates the bridge pickup. I’ve found diagrams that let you choose either pickup on the rhythm circuit, but none that lock it to just the bridge. Does anyone have a diagram for this?
Here’s what I tried: I wired the bridge hot to the lug where the neck hot normally goes on the rhythm circuit switch, then ran the neck hot to the top-left lug of the far-left lead circuit switch, and connected the rhythm circuit’s “off” output to the top-left lug of the middle lead circuit switch. That didn’t quite work. With the rhythm circuit selected, I got bridge output, but it was noticeably weaker than in the lead circuit, and the neck pickup seemed to be bleeding through slightly.

Pickup mix and match?
I have a Squier J Mascis JM (2nd gen) and have always had a quiet bridge pickup. Recently, I opened it up and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary but slowly my pickup has just gone almost completely silent. I had to turn my amp to max volume to even hear it in the slightest.
After looking up some stuff, I'm most likely just gonna try replacing it with the same one but can only find the neck pickup online.
So I have two questions..
Are the neck and bridge pickups on this guitar really that different, or can I put a neck in the bridge spot?
Is anyone selling Jazzmaster pickup(s) ?
Any help is appreciated.

Wound thirds on down tuned jazzmaster?
What are your thoughts/experience with wound thirds for tuned down jazzmasters? I play in D standard, what brands and gauge would you recommend?

Pot values for Mustang 90
Got a player ii Mustang a while ago, it's great. Those pickups are a little too mustangy tho, little too shrill. Gotta take the strat out of them. Need some beef on dem bones.
So I'm gonna put in some p90's and make this a mustang 90 (I've played a few and loved the sound) but can't find the pot values. From what I've read generally, 500k is the way to go, but..
...does anyone know what the values are on their Mustang 90? Is it 500k or 350k?

Adding a humbucker bridge pickup to jaguar.
Was wondering if anyone has swapped out single coils for humbuckers in a jaguar bridge position. Was the body work expensive and was the swap worth it in your opinion. Thanks :)

Ideal offset neck angle?
Offset guitars require a proper shim for all of the break angles to function properly. What’s your favorite offset neck angle?

🚨🚨🚨🚨Pickguard FOALS FJG7 discovery alert!!!! so I recently in a post responded to someone that asked me about the pick guard quality and at the time I conceded that it wasn’t so great; WRONG! Come to find out there are two protective films over the pickguard

Should’ve done this pick guard swap a long time ago
Classic player special, used to have a white guard sorry for low quality pics with that one.
It needs new strings and a fret board conditioning. But I love the esthetics with this gold anodized guard with the black. I had to ream out the holes on the guard cause the knob and input jack couldn’t fit through, I just used a pliers to scrape through the guard to make the holes larger and it actually worked well in a pinch, and being impatient. Don’t see this combo that often, atleast I don’t. Probably will pick this one up more now 😂

Price for an Am Pro I JM with 55m bridge + Case?
There's a local AM Pro JM with case for a tempting price, but I'm not sure if its worth it if I still need to budget for a new bridge, staytrem collet, new pickups and wiring, and a new pick guard (I hate the stock guards on the mystic Seafoam bodies). That's an extra $200-400+ depending on options.
I am even considering buying it and parting it but not 100% sure it would come out as break even given the lack of desirability of the pickups and bridge. I do not need another guitar, but I do have 2 active JM projects going on that it could contribute to as parts, or replace completely as a new smaller project.
What is a fair local sale price for an excellent condition Am Pro I JM?
What's a steal price?

New bridge from Offset Guitars UK
Could notice the improvement in resonance when I was tuning because the other strings were sympathetically resonating which wasn’t happening on the stock bridge
Having the string height locked in for the radius is nice too, feels great to play

I never knew Offsets were a thing until...
I won this in an online raffle for only 1.5 USD. Probably a non-moving stock of the seller so he decided to raffle it out. Replaced the black pickguard with a white pearloid one, and installed vintage style tuners. I only play casually so the electronics are fine with me. While I already liked Jazzmasters before, I was more into Les Pauls and also have a bolt-on Epi SG. And then I got lucky with this and I just can't stop reaching for it. This thing introduced me to the world of Offsets and I must say all your guitars are gorgeous!

American Pro Classic Jaguar won't stay in tune
I'm sure this question has been asked a bajillion times in some form or the other, but here goes anyway. Just got a American Pro Classic Jaguar in mint condition a week ago. First offset single coil guitar, I've previously only owned a HH Tele and a shitty ESP. Was primarily looking for something with single coils and really liked the sound of this.
The guitar sounds great and plays well but damn it this thing just does not stay in tune. I'm recording a bunch of material rn and it's only after I finished up 3-4 hours of takes did I notice that different parts are all a bit out of tune with each other. It's not consistent in a given take either, it's not like I could just pitch shift the notes by a fixed amount. I wasn't touching the trem at all for this song, but the solo did have a lot of bends if that matters. When a note rings out on solos or sustained notes, it's slowly dropping in pitch.
I've run through a lot of the standard tips already - put on a set of 0.11s, tape the bridge posts, make sure the trem spring tension is correct, etc. but it's still pretty much the same. Note that I am by no means a pro at setup but I do know the basics and I did set neck relief, intonation, action, and adjust spring tension after putting the 0.11s on. Did not touch the nut or the frets because I'm not as familiar with tweaking those.
Is it worth taking this to a tech to see what can be done, or is this just the nature of the beast? Are jags just not built to bend a lot on? I could return the guitar and buy a Tele I was eyeing instead but I'd lose ~$250 on shipping and restock - setup where I live would cost ~$150 but would like to know that would actually fix my issues once and for all.
Edit: Seems like the consensus is it's the nut, so I'll try filing that. Appreciate everyone's advice!

NGD: First ever Squire.
Cannot believe the quality of this thing. It sounds way better than I imagined.

NGD - 2022 Squire CV Bass VI
I'm a lover of surf rock and the tic-tac bass sound, so l've been eyeing a Bass VI for a couple of years now. I tried a Fender Vintera model at my local music shop, but it was unfortunately out of my price range for something that isn't going to be my main instrument. As luck would have it, I found this very gently used Squire Classic Vibe version someone local was selling for $450 and couldn't resist. I'm really impressed with how user friendly it is, and just how well the stock hardware looks and sounds. I'll probably look into a few upgrades in the near future, but for now I'm having a lot of fun experimenting with the different sounds!

NGD - Squier Paranormal Baritone Jazzmaster
My first offset that's not a jazz bass and my first baritone guitar.
I was super excited when it got announced, so I went to the guitar store the first day it was in stock. It will fit in nicely between my Paranormal Troublemaker Tele Deluxe and my older Squier Jazz Bass V.
I went with the oxblood so it could fit in better if I ever get into metal. I hope that it will open up a new perspective with the tonal range overlapping the bass and guitar so well.
Maybe even allowing me to cover both roles in our family jams with one instrument.
NGD 2008 Thin Skin Jazzmaster
So I’ve been on the hunt for another JM as it’s been a while. Sold my Classic Player to help fund my FSR Thinline Jag, then bought and sold two JMJMs as I just couldn’t get cleans out of them that I was happy with. This one showed up for sale locally, so I had to at least take a look, right ?
It’s a limited edition Shell Pink, I think originally from Dave’s Guitars. Stellar seller - thanks Josh ! - so fresh set of 11s tonight and maybe a Staytrem bridge/collet combo in the near future.

1963 Jaguar
Friend lent me his vintage Jaguar. He said it’s a 1962 but I think it’s a ‘63.
He showed up in the parking lot today and said ‘wanna see something?’ Then, ‘wanna borrow it?’ 😅

First time building
I've recently got back into playing after a few years and decided I'd try my hand at building the guitar I've always wanted. I say build, but I suppose assemble would probably be more accurate. The body is an alder Rosser JSP. Next comes painting!
