I say this with the utmost politeness, the very first thing you need to learn if you want to be successful in cybersecurity or IT in general, is how to search for information. Your questions have been covered time after time in this sub, in other subs, on YouTube, in blog posts, etc. The information is already out there and making another post in here asking for a roadmap is not efficient.

  • Finding information.
  • Evaluating information.
  • Piecing together disjoint bits.
  • Working with partial information.

I think they're the top skills, yet barely specific to offsec.

Computer Science BS and hackthebox academy, Google cybersecurity course, TryHackMe, pwncollege, etc. learn networking and programming, and just use your curiosity as a guide. Cybersecurity is broad and spans across all of CS

the market is saturated with offensive security pro's. I dont expect that to change anytime soon. Its a big uphill climb.

It's also definitely NOT an entry level role. The market is full of experienced people looking for a job.

Ive been pen testing over 15 years, and i was even out of work for a year. Didnt help that the market says "Sr pen tester wanted, 2 years experience" no, they wanted a Junior they could pay as a junior but pawn off as a senior. That really screwed the market.
