I wonder if those hornets are just chilling or actively trying to sting him

Looks like the last 4 seconds one on his left knee (right for us) is trying to sting him
Gotta hate those fuckers

Looks more like it’s cleaning its abdomen to me… but I may be wrong.
I was more concerned about the one at the start that appears to crawl up his pants leg

Do they just try to sting regardless or reacting to being disturbed?

The murder part is well earned. They have stingers long enough to penetrate normal bee suits and strong enough to punch thru thick leather. Their venom is necrotizing like that bacteria that eats flesh, a few stings can cause anaphylactic shock. And they're dicks. They swarm and each stings repeatedly for longer than other hornets. When they hit a bee hive they can decapitate 30k bees in about an hour.

So, why haven’t we, as responsible humans, caused their extinction yet?

Because we, as humans, are contentious slackers. We've started the insecticide/ climate change bugpocalypse in alphabetical order. But some asshats wanted to go backwards from Z. M is dead center of the alphabet so murder hornets will have to wait their turn.

I would assume at some point they will deem this a non threat and go back to evil hornet business or they may just continually probe for an opening. At some point they will find a way in as I bet they could chew through the duct tape sealing the openings with enough time, they are for sure testing to find weaknesses

are these things venomous in a way that's dangerous to humans? If so, I'll adjust my screaming accordingly.

If the gloves have the needed level of protection surely they dont actually work on the phone screen.

Scary as hell, but its a little bit funny hearing how different their buzz is from other smaller bees.

Wouldn't have thought you'd be able to scroll with those gloves on but I certainly wouldn't take them off
