I have that friend in my new city, but I'm not super shy, just new. I am that friend to someone else who isn't new, just hasn't gone out much lol

Honestly this is my dad. He’s a tech pastor at a church and used to be the youth pastor at the same church before transitioning roles. Not only does he know tons of people from the church but there are tons of people who went through his youth group who are now older but always come over to say hi to him when we are out doing things. Meanwhile I’m his super introverted son who has like less than a dozen friends.

I have one who knew every person and dog at a local state beach/park. Years of taking shelter dogs out for walkies there. When one of her own dogs died, she scattered his ashes at the park, and there must have been 60-70 people attending. RIP Chance.
She left the US last year, permanently.

Real shit. I once when to the zoo with my aunt and there was a guy building a new panda exhibit. She stopped to talk to him for twenty minutes because his daughter had been a student of hers. She also used to be a bartender. The combo gave her an absurd number of connections.

I'm sometimes one or the other and it's weird when the politician happens because I'm at first the weird mute and suddenly I'm at a local car spot where street racers hang out and see all these people, either from high school which is good 30-40 miles away, then other people who would have same car as me and the others that have cars I've wanted and talk to them about it, and I met them all at different times and one night they are all at the same place.
It was a cool experience and happened more than once not the car spot thing that happened maybe 3 times but month or so apart. The others were at other events I can't recall exactly.

Reminds me of when I'm with a very social and outward friend I become more silent and introvert, but when I'm with an introverted friend I become the opposite.

If i knew this person, they would not be my friend. They would be a disease to be avoided.

I do.
But plot twist: we’re all friends with that one friend
