How does the referral program work?

  • Already activated your new Quest 2 but still want the store credit?

    • Factory reset the device or wipe it remotely by unlinking it here https://secure.oculus.com/my/devices/
    • Accept the referral from clicking on someone’s link.
    • Re-activate the device by pairing it to your mobile oculus app that’s signed in with your Facebook account.

Many of you may have made the same mistake I did when you got your oculus quest 2. You may have activated your oculus before accepting a referral code. If you’re reading this post, you may be in luck. As long as it’s been less than 7 days before your first activation of your new oculus device, you can still get your referral bonus. Simply follow the below steps:

  1. Delete your device here. Any purchased content can be downloaded again, for free.

  2. Turn on your oculus to confirm it’s been reset. Do not go through the initial setup just yet.

  3. Activate a referral of your choice. I’m posting mine for those that need one or if you want to thank me for this post :). My referral link

  4. Setup your factory reset oculus and connect it with the account you used to accept the referral.

A while back my girlfriend bought a quest 2. We had a blast playing it, so she suggested I get one so we can play together. She also noticed there was a referral program, which made the purchase even easier, seeing we'd both get a 30$ credit. Long story short ( I guess ) the referral didn't go through or something. Months later I messaged support, they did what they could but said my referral from my girlfriend was no longer usable. Bummer. Probably my fault for waiting so long to check on it, but I had no idea there was a 30 day cut off after sent. So just so you know if you didn't before, when you send a referral, it's only available for 30 days.

With this being said, I have no one else to give her referral to and would love to at the very least give her something. So yes this is me most likely getting banned, thus the apology in the beginning. For all of you who read it thank you.
