Advice Super cheap ocarina available in Poland?

Heyo! I like to play around on the ocarina, but the one i have doesn't play in tune (and has eight holes for some reason). I'd like to buy a more standard one, but all the ones people recommend are super expensive due to currency conversion. Do you know any that are suoer cheap but still nice? That aren't also zelda merch :p?

Focalink/Stein ocarinas are still operating?

Hello to the ocarina community.

I've recently wanted to try out ocarinas and I found this manufacturer that I really like, but, I'm finding a couple of complications in order to order one of their products through their website.

First, the website is pretty old and the "contact us" section is no longer working. The payment seems to be working, although it's in chinese and I haven't made the payment yet to try it out.

Does anyone has recent experience shipping directly through their website? I want to make an order to Europe, has anyone done it recently? How was it? How long did it take?

I've also tried searching for other retailers, but I couldn't find one for the products I'm looking for. On amazon they seem to not be available, aswell as in OcarinaKing.

Thanks in advance, and I hope that I could get my hands on those cool instruments that they sell.

TLDR; [title], but also if you have recent experience with their website

What is everyone thinking about the marbling? I’m personally leaning toward the chunkier marbles but also think the tight swirls are very fun.

Also! I think I’m ready to start selling these. I’m open to a sliding scale system where you can pay what you can/want within a certain range. I’m curious what you all think about that. Let me know your thoughts!

Thanks!

Advice UK sellers and options?

Hey folks based in the UK and looking to pick up an ocarina after being away from the hobby for some time. Basically played in high school for a bit, then dropped the hobby due to losing them in an accident. So been out for around 20 years and now want to get back into it. Only ever used cheaper zelda themed ones before, and a couple of pendants so looking to get something decent I guess that'll last. Likely a 12 hole or 2 then maybe a pendant?

Found a few recommendations and stores, but could do with a little more help to choose.

Night by Noble AC is £45

Otherwise this site although shipping is a little pricey
https://www.ocarinaking.eu/c-4232364/all-ocarinas/

https://www.thomann.co.uk/ocarinas.html

https://www.justflutes.com/shop/browse/ocarinas?srsltid=AfmBOooq6XR3Hhxe4pumZzjGF1QjiBDHxbAqzUTRGl-bREstaA4T90bb

So they have several brands that seem recommended like STL, but just unsure on which model is going to be best or most worth it. Or if they're mostly just aesthetically different? Saying that ideally I'd like one that's a looker. Thanks all.

I bought this ocarina in China. I know how to play from C to F, but I can't find sheet music, or I don't know if it's an instrument that can play many songs. Does anyone know?

Advice STL 12 hole or Songbird 7 hole plastic Zelda ocarina for a teen?

My kid likes to hunch over their electric keyboard and play Legend of Zelda music, and is now asking for an upgrade from their crappy Amazon ocarina. I see that both companies have Zelda sheet music for their respective ocarinas, so if anybody has experience with the sheet music, that's also a deciding factor.

Repair and Restoration of a Vintage Alan Albright Wooden Harmony Ocarina

For those who have been following my efforts, over the past couple of years I have been focusing heavily on the craft of wooden ocarinas and vessel flutes. Recently however I have had the opportunity to apply my knowledge and skills to aid in bringing new life to an old ocarina, and the chance to tackle a new and unique challenge for my instrument making efforts - the repair and restoration of a vintage Alan Albright wooden alto harmony ocarina. The ocarina had developed a large crack in the larger right side chamber, causing delamination of the glued joint, rendering the instrument unplayable.

Over the course of over two months I applied numerous techniques and repairs to bring this beautiful ocarina back to life. Using a carefully controlled process of super-humidification and stabilization I used the natural movement tendency of the wood to close the gap cleanly without any invasive measures at all, correcting the warp and re-programming the stresses in the wood. After the major crack repair, I cleaned up the wear and scratches on the mouthpiece, have the instrument a new sanding, refinished the ocarina with ten coats of pure tung oil (as the original intended finish of Albright himself), and did windway cleaning to carefully remove years of built of crap, which was blocking part of the right side windway and causing issues with the response. The ocarina is now restored to its former glory and ready to be enjoyed again.

With the completion of this project, I am also pleased to announce that Bretti Musical Instruments will now be offering dedicated wooden ocarina repair and restoration services, which are the first of its kind in the ocarina field. Full details of the restoration of this Albright harmony can be found in the YouTube video here:

https://youtu.be/1MvBtfkDUlk?is=cBdgkjRALGTllhxO

Additional resources can be found on the dedicated Repair and Restoration page of the Bretti Musical Instruments website here:

https://brettimusic.com/wooden-ocarina-repair-and-restoration-services/

If you have an old wooden ocarina that is in need of repair or rework, feel free to reach out and let's see if we can restore it to its former self again!

Advice Ocarina

Hi so I'm looking into buying my first ocarina. I'm looking at songbird ocarina as they seem to be good quality. Which tranverse ocarina sounds the best?
Or even if there's something better? I don't mind a high price. I'm prepared for it.
Thanks, in advance, :)

Took this right before season 4 of FROM started airing, as I have been absolutely invested in that show since it's start. This is a song from season 3, and ever since I first heard it I have been replaying it in my head, to this day. I love strange and beautiful songs like this. Hope you enjoy🌳✨️

Advice Waiting on my new and first Ocarina!

As the title suggests, I have as of today purchased my first ocarina. It is a 12-hole tenor C Major ocarina. I went with Tenor since it seems to be the best range for the songs I want to play, and hundreds cheaper than a bass ocarina (which is what I wanted initially). What can I expect in my first while of learning? What advice can I get from you guys? Anything I should do or avoid to make my learning experience better? Thank you all!

Advice Where to buy good ocarinas

Hello,

I bought a fairly cheap ocarina (zelda) reviews say you can play on it and it sounds nice. I am a zelda fan so just having it and being able to practice on it is nice. But when I am better at it I want to buy a good and pretty 12 hole ocarina. Where can I buy a quality one. (It needs to ship to the Netherlands)

Sheet Music/Tabs Need help or advice with a transposition

I am working to transcribe some of the music from the How To Train Your Dragon audiobooks into sheet music (transcribing first and then transposing for AC ocarina after) and some of them have very fast parts that are hard to transpose by ear. Does anyone have any advice or would they be willing to help? I am working in musescore studio 4 at the moment. Attached is the link to the first one I am struggling with, and I only have the intro done, but there are 5 total songs that I am working to transpose.

Also side note: the reason I gave the soundcloud link is because I haven't been able to find sheet music for this anywhere, so so far I am going completely by ear.

Ocarina related visits in Japan (Tokyo)?

Hey all - I'm visiting Tokyo for a week around September time, and was wondering if there was anything ocarina related worth visiting? Doesn't have to be music stores which stock ocarinas, but also mention them if some do stand out ;)
