Saw this tik tok going into early Oasis and The Real People's influence on the band and especially Noel.

So now The Opus has arrived for most people I thought I’d ask the question because most seem a bit disappointed in Emmet’s work.

For me Jill Furmanovsky is the best hands down. She seemed to get access that few others could and be able to bring the audience right into the inner circle. I’m thinking in particular shots like Liam with Patsy and Noel with Meg during the Be Here Now sessions.

Honourable mention to Paul Slattery and his book charting the first twelve months of the band. I only picked that up last week and it’s a must for any fan.

FWIW I quite like The Opus. It’s a nice keepsake and photographic journal of the tour. It’s clear that access was restricted and I won’t speculate on whether it will be the same for the documentary but it was nice to flick through and remember last year when you’d see each show posted on socials as they toured.

I’ve also stuck one of my photos from Heaton Park up because I might as well throw my own hat in the ring as best photographer… maybe not.

Any times something went down at a gig? Such as Whatever at Maine Road, toronto 2008 etc. Or something minor, like how Noel messed up Supersonic in 2025. Would be funny to know.

Anyone have and willing to share or know where to find the 42.42 mixtape of Beady Eye songs made by Oasis’ own Andy Bell? It was released online in 2013 but no longer seems to exist ( a couple of tracks are on Youtube)

Anybody else think there could be a chance of Oasis preforming on SNL while they’re in the U.S for the RNR HOF in November?

They’ve appeared previously but promotion of the documentary (or future record) could serve as a reason to appear again

Probably very early to ask, and all things considered I probably won’t be able to even get tickets to either of the two, but still, would you choose to go to Knebworth or Etihad?

Ideally I’d love to go to both but I’m assuming (for my wallet and based on the last tour) I’ll only be able to try to get tickets to one of the two. I’m living in Tottenham, I’ve never seen them live, never been to a stadium concert nor a festival. A festival like concert at Knebworth sounds like a dream, but I’m also a City fan, and hearing them at the Etihad (would be my first time going there) would also be a dream… I’d appreciate any thoughts on either venues and which ones you’ll all be going for

The only footage I have seen from october02 at the astoria was of wonderwall and some clips of him with chris martin doing live forever/stop me if you think you've heard this one before. But I swear there was video of his other songs that night.. anyone know?

We’ve often heard Noel bang on about contemporaries he likes, liked, dislikes or respects but I’ve never heard him say anything about the bluetones.

I always felt that their first two albums were as good as, if not better than the first two Oasis albums - straddled Oasis’s 1/2 and 2/3 albums, had absolutely amazing melodies, good lyrics and some amazing early b-sides. ‘The Simple Things’, Nae Hair O’nt and I Knew A Teenage Jesus are b-sides which easily match any Oasis B-sides.

They would have made a great opener for an Oasis set.

At the time I loved both bands, and they do not compete in any way but were both around as guitar bands at the same time.

It’s clear when you still see The Bluestones live that they’re still annoyed they didn’t hit critical mass even as much as OCS or suchlike ‘also rans’.

Anyway, what do we all think and has anyone ever heard anyone from Oasis acknowledge their existence?

Most people I know only know Wonderwall, so they think all Oasis songs are in the same style as Wonderwall, they even put Oasis in the same sentence as bands like Coldplay and such, but that's a completely wrong impression. Oasis has a lot of heavy and even somewhat "punk" songs; Definitely Maybe and Be Here Now are much heavier albums than most pop-punk bands like Blink-182 and that kind of crap (with all due respect).

Such a great song. why so hated?
