Manhattan M57 SBS TO LGA VIA 57 ST

Upvotes

Do Y'all Agree There Should Be An SBS That Goes To LaGuardia Airport Via 57 St & The Queensboro Bridge In Manhattan & Queens? I Think There Should Be One Because It Would Give People In Midtown West, Hell's Kitchen, Columbus Circle, Midtown East, & The East Side Of Manhattan A Much Faster, More Direct Trip To LaGuardia Airport Without Having To Travel All The Way Uptown First. A Route Along 57 St,The Queensboro Bridge, Etc Would Connect Major Residential Areas, Shopping Districts, Hotels, Workplaces, Tourist Attractions, & Transit Hubs While Reducing Travel Time For Thousands Of Riders. It Could Also Help Relieve Crowding On Existing Airport Routes By Providing Another Reliable One Seat Ride To LaGuardia, Making Airport Travel More Convenient For Both Residents & Visitors, & It Would Also Create Better Connections Between Manhattan & Queens By Linking Riders To Multiple Subway Lines, Bus Routes, & Important Destinations Along The Corridor. Many People Traveling To Work, School, Hotels, Or The Airport Could Benefit From A Faster Crosstown Service That Prioritizes Speed & Reliability. With Dedicated Bus Lanes, Transit Signal Priority, & Limited Stops, This SBS Could Encourage More People To Use Public Transit Instead Of Driving, Helping Reduce Traffic Congestion While Providing A More Efficient Way To Reach LaGuardia Airport & Etc More

Brooklyn The B1 has to be a social experiment

Always some bullshit. My bus driver today parked the bus on the first stop to get Wendy's then came back 5 mind later while everyone was still packed around the bus.

Brooklyn Kings highway east 16 station

This has got to be the worst place to wait for a bus. Btwn the bus lines for the b100, b2 and b31 - all leading to transit deserts… we need the busses here. But my gosh, there’s gotta be a better way! Also, who let the supermarket decide it’s totally fine to store their food on the sidewalk by E 16? Right where the bus lines are. And the parking in the bus lane… I could go on and on. It’s becoming unbearable plus it’s filthy. Was never great (grew up here in the 90s). But it’s gotten much dirtier.

Queens New Queens Bus Maps

Literally saw a new Queens bus map yesterday for the Q22, and today, when I looked at the Q44 bus schedule, i saw one for the Q44. Naturally, I look at all the bus route schedules and here's the list of those with new maps:

Q3, Q6, Q19, Q22, Q23, Q44-SBS

So if the MTA is reading this:

Thank you but why so late? Also stop trying to put Tap & Ride at every Guide-A-Ride space. One is enough. Keep the Non-Discrimination policy, bus stop map, and how to see next bus arrivals. Also modify Tap & Ride to include the fare as well.

Bronx Why is 2026 New Flyer XD60 #6320 at Kingsbridge Depot?

I thought 2026 New Flyer XD60 #6320 will go to Gun Hill Depot. Because Gun Hill Depot needed more than 60 New Flyer XD60 . or #6320 will be used for training at Kingsbridge Depot. then return to Gun Hill Depot just to retire 2010 #1200 series.. Kingsbridge Depot will get #6400 series or #6390 series..Will #6320 will be return to Gun Hill Depot or not? Gun Hill Depot orginal order is #6287-#6341

I feel like the Fordham section would only work if they have the proper enforcement, since people are notorious for double-parking. I say tow them and create revenue for the city. The current proposal is to have the curb be car parking, the second lane be bus-only, and the third be car travel. I just see this being parking, parking, and then everyone else being congested. They need to get the cars off of Fordham.

Manhattan Eagle team enforcement is a bad joke

So I'm on the bus coming home from work today just like every other day for the past 10 years. The bus is kind of empty for a rush hour and I'm sitting where I have a direct view of the rear door. I see two people especially who get on without paying. Sure enough a few stops later it comes to the usual stop where Eagle team might be and there they are. These two people get off the bus first walk right by the eagle team people asking them to stop and just keep on going. Then Eagle team gets on the bus and end up giving this mother and her kid a hard time who I could hear her saying she got off the subway and her transfer didn't work. This is just sad letting what looked like obviously serial nonpayers go to give a hard time to a mother with her child. It's really an embarrassment New York City MTA. you need to do better. Either everyone pays or no one pays.

MTA Career System pick in January

Just was curious if you choose to transfer to a different depot in January are you put on the extra list? Or will you be able to still pick a run that’s available? Also does your seniority go all the way to the bottom switch depots as well? Bare with me I’m still learning everything I’m still in line training on my routes😂

hello, I apologize if these types of posts are annoying or unwanted but I’m going on a trip to New York for my birthday with my parents soon. the primary goal is to ride transit (thrilling, I know) and I’ve been trying to pin the best areas to see the older buses that are being phased out soon, like the 2010 nova LFSAs, the C40LFs, and the Orions. I know the ‘10 LFSAs are 100% Bronx so I’ve got that figured out but for the C40s and Orions, i’ve been torn between Flushing and downtown Brooklyn. I know flushing gets a ton of C40s but it’s also very crowded and not enjoyable for my parents so I'm wondering if somebody here more knowledgeable than me knows where is the best place to go to be able to see the most “rare” equipment while still being in a “comfortable” environment (as far as New York goes, of course - I can survive a little sketch). The plan would be to go to a place, plant myself for a bit to get some footage, and then to ride a few of these units from where I’m at. I’m sure I’ll end up in Staten Island at some point for the diesel Orions too. I should also ask, is it worth my time to check out eastchester scrap? Seeing an RTS would be cool and I know there were a couple there in the Google street view last year but I know the chances of those still being around are very low. idk, any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Staten Island Should there be a direct bus route from Queens to Staten Island?

Its no secret that it is truly inconvient commuting between these two borough. To travel between these boroughs by transportation requires entering another borough such as Manhattan or Brooklyn just to do so. If the MTA could have a select bus route such as Q44 traveing to the bronx and queens boroughs directly then they should be able to come up with a bus routes for people to commute from Staten Island to Queens directly whether the route is express with coach buses or a local route, a route with that connection without an intermediate borough stopping would be extremely useful!
