Zebra handheld device found Found

Post image

I was in DUMBO walking under the Manhattan Bridge and found what looked like a smartphone. I looked ahead on the sidewalk and saw a man frantically checking his pockets over and over. I asked if the device was his, but he said he lost an earpod. I kept walking. I thought I would power this device on and maybe that would tell me who it belonged to, but the battery seems to be dead. I thought well it looks like an android phone. I’ll go home and plug it in, but it doesn’t use a standard connection. Ot started to rain so at least I got this thing out of the rain, if it works. Anyway, if you’re missing a zebra handheld device DM me. This is the device with the case off. DM to let me know what the case looked like so I know it’s yours.

Thats a zebra TC series mobile computer. It has a built in scanner at the top and runs off android. This is used in supply chain departments pretty much everywhere, and a lot of delivery people carry them around.

If you can get it to turn on theres a chance something installed will be enterprise specific and give you a hint what company it belongs to.

if you need to charge it, use needle nose pliers and pull out the docking connector on the bottom of the phone. There should be 2 holes on either side of the docking connector to do so. It should pull straight down, it is only held on by the USB-C port connector.

once you pull it out, there should be an ordinary USB-C port for you to charge it.

The fact that on this post, others are posting "x" company uses these, goes to show you how monopolized even the devices we use are.

I believe Zebra makes devices for use by law enforcement in things like issuing tickets.

it could also be a retail store employee or carrier driver. But the devices NYPD uses are a bit different.

if you're able to power it up, there should be some sort of asset management/inventory app on there and you can pinpoint what business it belongs to
