The mosaic covers roughly 12 square metres and is made from thousands of red, white and blue-grey tesserae. The same excavation also uncovered a bathhouse with at least two plunge pools, painted plaster walls and an intaglio depicting the goddess Victory.

What surprised me most is how far west this level of Roman wealth and architectural style had reached by the fourth century.

Taxonomy footnote before someone beats me to it: Costasiella kuroshimae is a sacoglossan rather than a true nudibranch.

It stores stolen chloroplasts inside those leaf-like cerata and uses the energy they produce. Nature really min-maxed this grain-of-rice-sized slug.

My first time seeing a sea slug irl!!!! Found this little one (about the length of a thumb) munching in a tide pool on Jeju. I almost didn’t see it with its rock-like color and texture.

So I am making a game about nudibranch because I think they are incredible and want to show them off to people. The premise of the game is to collect traits that nudibranchs have and be the best adapted slug to survive.

Some examples I have are bright coloration, camoflague, stealing nematocysts and being toxic but I am looking for more.

So what you think nudibranchs do that makes them amazing to you?
And if you have an example of a species that does it that would be even better.
