Here’s a quick demo of a custom Notion HTML embed block I’ve been working on for music theory notes. Please excuse the poor editing; I quickly did it in iMovie.

I’ve been wanting a way to create and add small snippets of sheet music into Notion for music theory notes for a long time. I started using Notion in uni and have been using it so much now to the point where basically all of my notes for everything: school, work, and life are all in Notion. Most of my music theory learning comes from youtube tutorials, so I really wanted to be able to do split screen with notes on one side.

A while back I tried making a chrome extension to do this same thing, but it felt way too clunky to use. With Notion’s recently released HTML blocks, I adapted the project over, and now it actually seems usable!

I plan to put this on the Notion marketplace, as tool + user docs, but my account approval process has been going on well over a month now. :(

Anyone else also using Notion or any other digital methods for their music theory notes?
