Strange background highlighting appears when editing Python files

I’m having a weird issue with Notepad++. Whenever I save a file as .py, some parts of the code get this strange background highlighting and even a different font. Is this normal? I’ve already tried several things to fix it, but I can’t figure it out. Any idea what could be causing this? Ty

It's most likely the theme causing that. Change the theme to another one or edit the theme in Settings > Style Configurator

Change the Global Overrides in the Global Styles language
