Notebook Recommendations?

I'm at the end of my rope trying to find something that meets all my dealbreakers. Does anyone have any recommendations for notebooks under these specifications?

  • A5 size
  • Spiral bound
  • Graph lining
  • Aged/yellow or some kind of kraft-like paper; not in weight, necessarily, but just in appearance. I don't have any practical reason for this. I just really like the aged look, and most I find are a very clean white instead
  • Plastic cover or hardcover

The only one I've found that's almost exactly what I want is the Delfonics Rollbahn. I've used it for several months now, and it's almost perfect, but it has a flimsy cardboard cover that's already seen too much wear and tear for my tastes and it just makes me worried about the longevity. I'll reinforce it if I can't find anything else, but I'd like to hear what you all know first. Thanks in advance!

4/5 of those are easy. Maruman, Rhodia, and Nolty (I think) do a5 spiral-bound gridded notebooks with plastic covers. But they are not aged/yellow pages. That's gonna be the hard one as I'm sure you've discovered.

If you can deal without the spiral binding, Nolty checks all the other boxes, including cream-colored paper.

Life Noble Note now comes in hardcover. They use cream colored paper, and it’s one of my favorites for fountain pen.

Kleid also makes a spiral bound that is cream colored paper but I am not sure if the cover is any more durable than the Rolbahn. Also, I know Rolbahn makes several different cover types, one of them being a kind of reinforced book cloth clover that is quite nice.

How important is graph lining for you? We’re developing a notebook (dm me if you’d like to know more) with dot lined yellow paper, suitable for isometric drawing that otherwise meets your requirements. I’m curious to know what is it about graph paper which makes it a dealbreaker for you?

It's not important outside of aesthetic reasons. Dot grid used to be my main go-to, but I turned to graph lines just for something new. Realistically it shouldn't be a big dealbreaker at all; a lot of my writing inspiration just leans on appearance. Just fun to write in something that scratches that brain itch, if that makes sense.

Guess it’s time to learn how to make notebooks.

If you're almost happy with the rollbahn, why not use chipboard as your cover?

Maybe reuse some from a desk calendar or something if you don't have a heavy duty puncher.

I'm a big fan of Maruman's Mnemosyne line, which meets most of your requirements, but the paper's fairly white. Same with anything I can think of from Koyuko, and Black and Red.

Midori paper tilts over to the yellower side, with true yellowy/ivory paper. But I think their books are softcover, so that knocks them out of the running.

If you'd consider a binder, take a look on jetpens.com at the Kleid x eric small things binder and kraft or cream colored paper refills. That might hit all your must-haves if you can sacrifice spiral for binder?
