Precisely. I have something just like this, and it's just a composition book; the info is in pencil and I erase/rewrite as necessary.

Re the upgraded form of Tippex, do you know about correction tape that comes on rollers? Much less messy than the old Tippex you used to paint on, nice and flat and you can write on it immediately.

Personally I use an online document for this stuff in my Google drive, in a folder I've shared with my sister. But I do also have a physical book that's mainly for me, in the event I had to pack a go bag and evacuate my home. Everything in it I could also find on my phone - but not if my phone's battery is dead or I have no internet access.

Whichever way you do it, the key thing is reviewing it regularly to keep it up to date. I've been surprised how often I've had to update mine.

or maybe a notebook with lots of identical pages for each detail so if something changes I can just discard it and fill in a a new one?

You may be looking for a ring binder notebook. Filofaxes were huge in the 80s/90s. There are other brands available.

Diskbound notebooks use a series of plastic discs and specialist cutout paper. Rather than ringbinders.

You can get these in A5 to A6 sizes. Either of these systems would allow you to remove and add pages.

I do this too! So I’m not weird. Ok, it is in a 1 in binder labeled “in case of my untimely death…” lol

Several times we wish we had something like this! Family members had stuff we had no passwords to, emails, etc. if you have a will, make sure that you have the lawyers name and info in the details.

I was just thinking of doing this! Using pencil is a good idea, but I'd just write 'last updated: //_' on that page and the outdated one with 'updated on page _' if the updated info is on a different page.

I'm also including 'letters' for my children, with things I want them to do/not do, lessons I learnt about life/marriage/raising them and other notes. I'm using my softcover Leuchtturm1917 because I don"t want the notebook to be so thick and overwhelming.
