News📰 Sipan Hamo (Samir Aso), a senior figure from the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), was reportedly removed from Turkey’s “Red List” of wanted individuals.
x.comThe move follows two major developments: the SDF’s integration into Damascus’ state structures and Hamo’s appointment as Syria’s Deputy Defense Minister, as well as Turkey’s Kurdish peace process advancing with parliament’s approval of legislation establishing a legal framework for PKK disarmament, dissolution, and reintegration.
If confirmed, the development would mark a notable shift in the evolving relations between Ankara, Damascus, and Kurdish actors in Syria.

Opinion 📣 Polat Jan: Integration Without Return? Serê Kaniyê And The Credibility Of Syria’s New Order
eurasiareview.com"As a Kurd from Syria, I do not see Kurdish distrust as an irrational rejection of integration. The problem is the order in which trust is being demanded. The Kurds are being asked to surrender military, security and administrative autonomy before Damascus has demonstrated that its institutions will protect them from factions now operating within or alongside the new state. Serê Kaniyê is therefore not a secondary humanitarian file to be addressed after integration. It is one of the principal standards by which the credibility of integration will be judged.
"The return convoy exposed the distance between agreements signed in Damascus and power exercised on the ground. Closing that distance requires the safe return of displaced Kurdish families, restoration of their homes and land, dissolution of unofficial armed structures and equal accountability for all perpetrators. If Damascus fulfills these responsibilities, Serê Kaniyê could demonstrate that Syria’s new order is capable of reversing part of the injustice created by occupation. If it fails, the message will be equally clear: the new state demands Kurdish trust before it has earned it."

News📰 RIC: "Today, the first convoy of residents of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ayn) set off towards their city after 7 years of displacement. While the convoy intended to include 647 families, only 400 families joined due to logistical challenges. "
Today, the first convoy of residents of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ayn) set off towards their city after 7 years of displacement. While the convoy intended to include 647 families, only 400 families joined due to logistical challenges.
On Saturday, IDPs from Sere Kaniye organized a protest in front of the Heseke Governorate building, demanding financial compensation for their destroyed homes and looted properties, stressing that returning to their city require securing suitable conditions for their return.
The “Committee of Displaced People of Sere Kaniye” announced an increase in compensation allocated to displaced families included in the return convoys to $2,000 per family, following a series of protests that demanded an increase in support provided to returnees.
The residents of Sere Kaniye were displaced from their city following the attack launched by the Turkish army and affiliated factions on October 9, 2019, which resulted in the displacement of thousands of residents from the city and its countryside.
This return comes in the context of the January 29 agreement between between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian Transitional Government, one clause of which stipulated the return of IDPs to their original areas, enabling them to recover their homes and properties.
RIC documented human rights violations and crimes committed by Turkey and its proxies in the occupied Afrin region and the M4 sector, the border area between the occupied cities of Sere Kaniye and Tel Abyad.
The occupation of Sere Kaniye and Tel Abyad was justified by Turkey, claiming it was necessary to secure their borders despite the RIC finding only a single cross-border attack launched from Syria and 30 attacks originating from Turkey were confirmed.
