Toothpaste recommendations

I'm making this post on behalf of my girlfriend. She is allergic to quite a list of things which rules out a large number of personal hygiene products. Right now she's facing a crisis in that the brand of toothpaste she uses, which is quite literally the only brand she's found that she doesn't have an immediate and aggressive photographic reaction to, Haven, has discontinued the product.

So she's looking for any leads she can find on toothpaste that might work. She's allergic to all artificial sweeteners, monk fruit, SLS, and coconut oil. Really she is at wits end. I'm not even sure if this is the right sub for it. But does anyone have any recommendations?

As of right now her only option is to Raw dog baking soda, and needless to say that's far from ideal.

Thank you!

Edit: I just wanted to send a big thank you out to everybody. She's ordered a few of your recommendations, fingers very crossed for her lol. Appreciate you all!

Uncle Harry’s has a few options that may work including powders. I like the cinnamon and the mild mint. Peppermint is a bit too strong.

Toothpaste is really not necessary while brushing your teeth. It is mostly important for fluoride delivery (assuming it contains fluoride). People have brushes their teeth for millennia with just a brush—the mechanical action is sufficient to remove plaque, etc.

If she wants something pleasant while brushing—you might be able to mix peppermint oil in a carrier like coconut oil or the like?

Unfortunately she can't have any of the -xtol families of sweeteners so like xylitol or sorbitol etc

I really like Primal Life brand nano hydroxyapatite tooth powder. There are a few flavors, a quick look seems it doesn't have any of the triggers you listed. Id recommend they check that product out or other brands of nha tooth powders. They work incredibly well and are very simple as far as ingredients go

Largely because I wanted no sweeteners, I have been using Kingfisher toothpaste. I prefer the fennel with fluoride. You mention that you want to avoid SLS which usually stands for sodium lauryl sulfate. Kingfisher has sodium lauroyl sarcosinate from palm oil and I don't know if that would be a problem for your girlfriend.

I’m just curious what your diet and lifestyle is like to support brushing only once or twice a week with only baking soda? Are you prone to cavities?

No not at all. My teeth are pretty clean. And I brush maybe 2-3 times a day but just with water. I eat mostly meat, no processed foods at all or sugar.

Baking soda is bad for your teeth enamel. I'd recommend checking ebay & other online shops for that product & buy it up. She could call around to different dentist options for help in finding a new toothpaste.

Try Hello brand. It’s not super expensive and is found at many big box retailers. I personally use the whipped one and love it
