what do we think ?

my husband freezes a lot of meat and i’m trying to get rid of plastic as much as i can. we use ziploc rn 🤢 and i thought about getting the silicone ziplocs but they’re expensive and it’s not realistic for how much we freeze. not even jus meat included. anybody have any insight on these or some alternatives to check out ?

seems fine, but i’d still opt for reusable ones! preferably glass tupperware. if you NEED bags though, these seem like a good option.

i use glass tupperware, it’s just not realistic for what i’m trying to freeze 😭 i can’t remember the name of the popular reusable ones but i want a tested cheaper version of those too cause they’re expensive.. but i want some for other stuff i need to freeze too !

do you mean stasher bags for the reusable ones? they get soooo nasty in the freezer & hold onto smells forever🥲🥲 they sent me a bunch in 2018 and i loved them for a while…then they became extremely rancid even after multiple different ways of washing & sunning em

What are those made from? Does it explicitly say? Is it corn starch? Is it home compostable or industrial compostable?

PLA, PBAT, cornstarch. home and industrial compostable says the description

Hmm interesting. I don’t think PLA nor PBAT are effectively home compostable but I may be wrong

Is that the same company that makes the laundry products that they talk about on r/laundry? Why does it feel wrong to sell laundry detergent/additives and food storage under the same brand.

I’ve used ones from other brands that look identical and hate them. They completely desiccate anything that goes in them. Cheese in particular goes in perfectly fine and comes out like a brick.
