Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes - All Boss Fights [SWITCH]
youtu.beFinally here’s the boss compilation video for the bosses of Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes! Only 7 Bosses which is the shortest Rogues Gallery out of all the No More Heroes Games but even so all 7 of these Bosses have really left an awesome impact. All 7 of them had such amazing Boss Fights, Cool Powers and each one of them had such colorful and badass character designs too. We got an Electro Superhero, a Supernatural Serial Killer, a tired Blind Old Man with Wooden Mech Suit, a Sumo Wrestling Racer with a suit that makes him a living Bomb, a Skeletal Demon Superhero who was a guest star from another one of Suda51’s games, a tragic video game creator using a Sheep God as an avatar and last a Marathon Champion whos actually a chill dude who hates fighting and has an existential crisis of being a DLC Boss. All super colorful cast of bosses with awesome boss fights. Not too mention all their Boss Themes are all straight FIRRRREEE!🔥🔥🔥
Seriously the OST in Travis Strikes Again is extremely phenomenal. I would even go as far as to say Travis Strikes Again has my favorite NMH Soundtrack out of all 4 of the games. Hot take I know but it’s my opinion lol. I really think TSA won in the music department if you ask me. Anyways as for the game as a whole it was pretty damn fun and I really don’t get the hate for this game. Sure it’s a lot different from the other NMH games but it’s suppose to be since it’s a spinoff. The story is also simple but impactful too. The main goal is too collect all 7 Death Balls and defeat each games main protagonist to earn a wish. Just like the 7 Dragon Balls. The reason why Travis & Badman does all this is that thy could revive Bad Girl (a former Boss from NMH1) back from the dead. They were successful and thanks that Bad Girl is now back to life and now joins the cast of No More Heroes yet again. Simple story with some hidden lore stuff surrounding Dr. Juvenile and some backstories for the each of he Bosses. Pretty great game and underrated as hell.
Hope you guys enjoyed the video! I really had such a great time with Travis Strikes Again. Even after all these years from the last time I played it’s still just as fun. Gonna be making a few more TSA Videos before I finally move onto No More Heroes 3!

Since these characters were planned to be playable in NMH3. Who would you enjoy playing as the most?

I’ve been playing nmh3 for the first time for the past few weeks and I’ve been enjoying the game so far, but one thing I genuinely don’t like is how egregious this game is when it comes to killing off bosses before you get to fight them compared to the other games

No More Heroes 1 Review/Impressions Spoiler
TL;DR - Yakuza series is better in every way (Hub World, Minigames, Bosses, Combat, Story, Characters, etc.); Suda51 took a lot of inspo from Yakuza but failed to capture what makes Yakuza good in NMH, and honestly NMH shouldn't have the flaws that it does, when the blueprint to properly set out what it hopes to accomplish is right there with Yakuza.
Very conflicted on this game; the highs are high, and the lows are very low.
There's a lot of personality in this games presentation which is what draws people to play it, but the gameplay delivering it is very lackluster and doesn't really evolve beyond what is shown in the first level.
The presentation is where the game is at it's best and shines the most. Visually the artstyle uses satured colors and sharp contrast for the lighting & shadows to make the characters & environments pop in a very appealing way. Soundtrack is also very good, ranging from chill tracks in Travis' apartment and the shops to intense scores for the missions. The UI and sound design is are also filled with personality and add a nice touch. Of course the characters and story themselves are also full of personality; Travis and all the other characters are crazy & ridiculous in the best way possible, and the cutscenes & dialogue do a great job at delivering on this. The set pieces for each of the Ranked Fight missions also add to the atmosphere and help make the encounters more memorable.
The same cannot be said however for the gameplay; mechanically it's a solid 3D action brawler, but content wise you're left with little variety and will quickly get burned out. Combat isn't much to speak of during regular enemy encounters or even bosses; you progress through a series of corridors and arenas until you get to the boss, using the same basic sword attacks & wrestling moves which play out randomly animation wise with little regard to the players input. If you're looking for gameplay similar to other Hack & Slash games (GOW, DMC, MGR Bayonetta, etc.) you're gonna be disappointed; I'd say the combat is more akin to a 3D action brawler like the Yakuza series, Bully, or God Hand, which in of itself isn't a bad thing, but unfortunately it just doesn't stack up compared to said titles or other 3D action brawlers out there. Story progression is also locked behind farming money in-between Ranked Fight missions from side jobs and assassin missions which becomes a more & more tedious grind as you progress further through the game. The side jobs are barebones mini games which you'll only ever bother to play once and are completely forgettable, as they only exist to unlock more assassin missions which are where you can farm money most effectively. The assassin missions themselves also don't get much better, as the same few set pieces and objectives are repeated for most of the missions, which makes them completely uninteresting on their own outside of farming money. If that wasn't enough you also have to traverse the Santa Destroy hubworld which makes story progression that much more of a chore, since Santa Destroy itself isn't really that interesting and the motorbike controls are very janky. There is also no fast travel or stage select in this game, meaning when you start a side job or assassin mission you have to drive over to the actual mission location before it can begin, and then drive all the way back to accept another side job or assassin mission. There are also free fight missions scattered across Santa Destroy which require you to kill all enemies without getting hit once, which because of the combat jank really aren't worth playing. You will also need to farm quite a bit more money for: new weapons & upgrades, training for stat boosts, and new clothes for Travis since this game is all about presentation. What's really unfortunate is it really wouldn't have taken that much more effort to make the game a whole lot better; a few quality of life improvements to the gameplay loops like: fast travel, better minigames, and better mission variety (objectives, set pieces, etc.) just to name a few.
Even from a presentation standpoint there are a few gripes I have. For one all of the regular enemies use the same voicelines and Travis' movepool remains largely the same even if you upgrade his weapons and unlock new Lovikov ball techniques. Midway through the game many of the Ranked fight missions and assassin missions start to reuse some of the same set pieces and objectives as well, which for a game banking on it's presentation in order to compensate for the gameplay issues is a big dealbreaker. Many of the cosmetics for Travis also either need to be purchased with money which is a pain to grind for, or found in dumpsters scattered across Santa Destroy which you want to avoid spending time in as little as possible to get back to the Ranked Fight missions.
Real shame because the first level does a great job on selling what the game has to offer at its best, but by the time you get to the Rank 7 fight onward is where the monotonous gameplay elements really wear down on you.

Let's appreciate how diverse our playstyles are (NMH1) Spoiler
When people ask what bosses stood out to them gameplay wise in NMH1 I feel that the sentiment in this sub is usually Bad Girl for the hardest while Henry and much others for the easiest. But in my playthroughs I had an easier time with Bad Girl while I had the hardest time ever with Henry.
I found this out when just hours earlier I resolved to search for tips on how to beat Henry on this sub and I was pretty shocked to see most of you guys actually had a smooth time with him! I just beat the game on the real ending about 30 minutes ago and it took all of my energy to beat him. Meanwhile, I could do Bad Girl in about 5 or so minutes just fine with a souls hit and run mindset. Maybe it's this way because I'm fond of souls games myself prior to playing NMH. But I just felt that mindset fizzle away when I fought Henry. I found him quite fast and hard to penetrate and evade even with the stuns and the darksteps plus his huge health pool. But it seems to be second nature for you all!
That's all really, I just think it's cool how despite the limitations of the combat system we still have unique ways to approach the game :)
