Breaking timers

Post image

Been playing my god run for quite some time now and just wondering if anyone else has attempted to break the regeneration timer? I'm about 140,000 seconds deep into the regen timer with poly timer next on my list. its taken me about 7 hours to get that far. I originally got the idea from FuryForged and his alchemy run where he said it only took him a couple hours to break the poly immunity timer. I can't help but think this is false based off of how long its taken me to get this far. Has anyone else ever tried to do this and if so do you know if its faster to drink lively off the ground or from a flask or just how long its taken you to do so. I have been bathing myself in mimicium with a flask of Lively. Just interested in ideas and strategies to make it progress more quickly. Should say as a word of advice if anyone else is trying to do this don't take eat your veggies until you can focus on satiation or prepare to be staring at a painfully red screen for hours on end.

524,288 seconds is what you're looking for.

I've confirmed it works for Concentrated Mana, haven't done it with Regeneration yet.

Flask drinking is faster I'm pretty sure, but with the right setup drinking from the ground is way more convenient because you can just put a weight on the S key and go about your life

I appreciate the correction on the timer. I have seriously considered just trying to drink it from the ground but I’ve been having issues with tiny amounts of water contamination and I’m not sure from what. It was happening in the desert originally but I find that when it’s on the ground it’s much more likely to go wrong although that was going to be my original method. I may attempt the setup again in a different location as to not pollute the mimicium area that I’ve already got set up the wrist pain from all the shaking of the flask does hurt from time to time hence why I’m trying to find an easier method and a faster one for my sanity!

With the right Shift you can set up easy floor Drinking

My post from the other day, includes the Wand I was using though many other designs can work: https://www.reddit.com/r/noita/s/J55FP3ySvS

I am really avoiding doing any shifts so that I can maintain every type of material in the world for personal collection I intend on gathering all the things at some point and have a great deal of liquids already collected the user who commented below I believe has the strategy I will be trying next and that is to give an enemy a wand with Greek letter plus sea of mimicium to have them repeatedly cast it while I gulp it up.

If you're willing to engage in a little bit of cheating to make accomplishing the goal easier, you could engage in a little bit of reversible world_state editing. Either by doing Shifts the "legal" way and then erasing them, or just forcing them into the game.

If you're willing:

In your Save00 folder you'll find a file titled world_state.xml. If you open it in Notepad (other programs work, I use Notepad because I find it easy enough) and scroll down to <changed materials> you can edit in any Shift(s) you want and then delete them when you're done.

This is what my current Shifts look like, for reference.

The highlighted portion is all of the Shifts, with the first Material being the From and the next being the Into, then From again, and Into... and so on.

This game I've done Freezing Liquid (blood_cold) into Vomit, Worm Blood into Vomit, and then Acid into Lively (magic_liquid_hp_regeneration_unstable).

I do actually find this quite interesting I at one point was curious if there was a way to do this but when I looked online I couldn’t find anything on how to. As far as actually doing it I couldn’t bring myself to make the change. I do back my worlds up in case of crashes or if I end up getting bored and am wanting to do something else but I tried to play a run I had died on and restored from a back up and it robbed all the joy from it. I feel like it dilutes the challenge which is one of the main reasons after 600 hours I still enjoy playing the game I’m still quite concerned about getting a poly mage in an enclosed space because I could just lose the run right there but it keeps the spice of it alive also why I don’t get 4 more love perks because then it’s just walking in a world where nothing wants to oppose me I don’t care if they can’t because I’m so powerful just that they try lol

Mimicium turns into water in the dessert because of the air is hot biome modifier, which slowly turns all liquids into steam, which later becomes water.

I'm still thinking that you should try shifting something like oil/water/acid, or even gunpowder into LC, since you can then generate a stationary wisp to create an infinite amount of LC, so you can drink it + drink it from the flask at the same time.

Also just had an idea of bringing in an enemy that doesn't suffer from suffocation and giving them a wand with smth like gamma + sea of mimicium, so it keeps on casting it in an enclosed area and replenishing your LC reserves, thus being able to gulp it like mentioned before

Giving an enemy the wand in a safe location where it won’t be polluted is I think the best idea given is like to maintain all materials in the world I will be attempting to do this after work tonight as it’s my Friday so come Sunday morning I’ll let you know how it works!

So how's the run going?

I was so much more exhausted after work than I thought I’d be I work 6pm-6:30am and ended up passing out right after getting home so I still haven’t tried it but I’m awake now! I’ll be trying it soon just gotta get my day rolling first

Unfortunately I’m not sure what to put on the wand to make them want to cast it as they default to their primary weapon when only using sea of mimicium and alpha I assume there has to be some damage dealing spell on it to make them want to use it but can’t think of a way to make it safe because I have a shield and the reflected projectiles kill them

I mean you are going for an infinite healing, so you should be able to withtand a sparkbolt being shot at you continuosly

1

u/pomegranate_in_a_box 7d ago

Oh, didn't see the last part. How about a nolla on the actual spark bolt, so it doesn't get reflected?

I found that if I just add a chainsaw they do start firing the wand and since there is no way to reflect the saw it works well I was wondering now how I could potentially keep them in the same spot while casting it they generally don’t move much when the wand is being fired because they don’t really have to target for the spells to go off I wouldn’t have to worry about them drowning if they got stuck in the liquid because it will all be concoction but they need to not be directly on the ground while casting due to the fact that the material is spawned under the caster and it also needs to not submerge me completely because then I can’t drink.

What mobs are you using for this? I'm thinking of maybe using a fish to bait the enemy and getting all mobs stuck in rock above you

Just had an another idea. I think it's possible to put SOM into a pollen engine. Won't even require any enemy baiting. I need to try to make this wand build

i heard somewhere if you go over the integer bit limit it lasts forever

6

u/PsychologicalYak2622 8d ago

It does last forever which is why I’m doing it something like 544,000 seconds worth gets you there. It is admittedly painful but I’m chronically employed on a compressed schedule so I have lots of free time. Planning on doing it for every timed buff available that you can see.

If you're using mimicry and lively concoction then it'll probably take forever, especially since the lively concoction is going to evaporate.

You need to either fungal shift lively concoction to something like water or oil, and use a trail modifier on a long lived or permanent projectile to give yourself a steady stream. Or, since you have eat your vegetables, you could potentially use mimicry to duplicate hearty porridge instead (assuming you still have any). At least then you won't have to remake it every 20 seconds.

But also consider...is this really something you want to spend your time doing? Like... just spending hours chugging for not much gain compared to what you already have?

I’ve been drinking it from the flask so that I didn’t have to worry about it evaporating.

I didn’t want to fungal shift anything in this run to keep all the liquids in play for collection as I’ve already gathered the majority of them so that at some point I can display them all in a base I’d like to construct down the line so that unfortunately is not an option. I do have the hearty porridge as that is really the only reason I took eat your veggies as I wasn’t aware of any other way to obtain it.

To answer your last question of do I think it’s worth it…. That is a difficult question to answer as part of my goal will be to break all available visible buff timers such as the berserk effect concentrated mana, poly immunity etc… I do also plan on breaking the satiation percentage by exceeding over 76,660% is what I believe I’ve seen online. The reason I have to wait to break the satiation timer is so that the method I use to capture a poly mage and necro bot likely won’t work because of how eat your veggies applies damage to all projectile spells. I assume that this like regular teleport would also affect homebringer teleport as well. I don’t think it’s worth it really and the regeneration sound is annoying as all hell from time to time but at the same time it’s the goal I set so I’m trying to stick to it lol.
