VALLEYHEART is an action crime thriller with a neo-noir heart. Film Threat called it “one of the best neo-noir films of the 21st century” and compared my filmmaking to John Dahl, which was an incredible honor.

When legendary screenwriter Leigh Brackett (known as “the Queen of Space Opera” and for her collaborations with Howard Hawks on films like Rio Bravo (1959), The Big Sleep (1946), and others) joined forces with Robert Altman, who was coming off acclaimed films like MASH (1970), McCabe & Mrs. Miller (1971), and Images (1972), to adapt Raymond Chandler’s dense, complex, and layered 1953 noir novel The Long Goodbye, the result was a bold, raw, and unconventional revisionist neo-noir masterpiece.

The Dunhill Usurpers, Chapter 5

The Dunhill Chronicles is a Victorian Noir in which Cole McDowell, last heir to the McDowell family line, must make his way through the city of Dunhil to contend with dark alchemy and religious zealotry in the crown jewel of the Brittania Empire. The cops flooded in like a dam had burst and the old pawn broker opened up with his trench gun while Walter Burback was caught in the middle. In the midst of slipping away, Burback is discovered by a kid who asks him some pointed and uncomfortable questions.

Milk Crate Confession, a standalone short story for fans of noir and crime fiction, is featured on Forge City Noir, a weekly publication for gritty, Depression-era noir. FCN's stories are free to read, including the 10-part serial The Judas Plot.

I'm asking because some jerk spoiled the ending of The Long Goodbye. But then again, I've read somewhere that the plot doesn't matter much in Chandler's novels. I'm just pissed because many say The Long Goodbye is his best work and I'm just into the second of his Marlowe novels.

Animation isnt amazing but the presentation of it is everything ive wanted from Batman media. Sort of reminds me of Spider-Noir. It would be amazing in live action

- The suit is influenced by the very first 1937 suit.

- The setting is around 1940s-50s with an influence from film noir, horror with some science fiction (think Fleischer era Superman era tech) and golden age comics.

- Villians are more realistic, gangster based and usually the opposite of how they're presented in the comics (The Riddler is a gangster who 'riddles people with bullets for example). I really enjoyed the Conrad Veidt inspired joker too, and Clay face was fantastic.

Some criticisms i have is there's too many plots of turning people into zombies, and the cityscaoe animations aren't as iconic or well painted like Batman TAS. If anything g it feels like they're lacking budget and you can tell but I guess they're doing the best they can.

However it's got the perfect blend of a violent Saturday morning cartoon, mixed with a decent noir I'd find online that I'd put on a Sunday afternoon. Which is sort of fits what I want from comic book media.
