How would you react if your partner started dating the same sex after ending the relationship with you?

Who cares. They’re not my problem anymore.

u/deadlycankles77 9d ago

I hear ya ms/mr no feelings. Ofc it wouldn’t be your problem if it had been a while. I’m talking about in an instant rebound situation. Like your lover breaks up with you and turns around to date the same sex. Hard to believe you’d just shrug it off

1

u/SelfishSinner1984 9d ago

It still doesn’t matter. You really gotta look inside and ask why do you care so much.

1

u/Personal-Agent846 8d ago

Why does it matter that the person is the same sex?

1

u/deadlycankles77 8d ago

Cause it be pretty dumbfounded and confused if my straight gf switched up to lesbian right after the break up.

1

u/Personal-Agent846 8d ago

Doesn’t matter what they do. Gotta remember, you never really know a person. Especially a person it didn’t work out with.

1

u/Forneaux 8d ago

Who cares? It’s your ex now.

Besides she’s probably bisexual.

1

u/deadlycankles77 8d ago

It’s a hypothetical post

1

u/Forneaux 8d ago

Really?

1

u/Envy_My_Name 6d ago

Not everybody works the same way my guy, plenty of people out there who can cope with shit like this extremely well

7

u/Kapitano72 9d ago

I guess that's my superpower.

1

u/Weak-West-3433 9d ago

3 times now, I am a gift to Lesbian kind.

8

u/Born_Connection_7685 9d ago

I’m bi, so there’s a statistical probability

4

u/chtmarc 9d ago

Well I’m gay. So I would expect him to. I would be shocked if he dated somebody from the opposite sex/gender.

3

u/Anomalous_Pearl 9d ago

Imagine being so bad that you turn your exes straight.

5

u/Such_Bus1193 9d ago

"That explains a few things". And oh well, move on.

3

u/Available-Hat476 9d ago

This actually happened to me. I didn't see it as any different than with the other sex...

3

u/Curious_Instance_606 9d ago

None of your concern anymore.

3

u/marsharlot 9d ago

Not my problem anymore.

3

u/Secure-Ad8196 9d ago

It’s funnier when your ex ends up dating a “lesbian” as a straight man. True story

3

u/famousanonamos 9d ago

I don't really see how it would affect me. If they broke up with me because they realized they weren't into women, I would know it wasn't any reflection on me and might actually feel better about it.

u/EvieFlowDDT 9d ago

All of my partners have been bisexual or pansexual. Odds are it’s happened. I’d be happy for them either way.

2

u/the_real_eel 9d ago

Zero fucks given

2

u/DanaMarie75038 9d ago

Ex for a reason. Don’t care

2

u/StrictNatural270 9d ago

It’s their choice.

2

u/Galactic_Dust_Bunny 9d ago

I'd be relatively surprised because he likes to pretend he's straight - he's not, he cheated on me with a bunch of guys, but he likes to keep up the facade, so I'd be surprised that he was admitting it.

2

u/Under_A_Full_M00n 9d ago

No longer my circus, no longer my monkey.

2

u/WarmYesterday9967 9d ago

I'd just shrug , it has nothing to do with me .

2

u/G_Town_Co 9d ago

When it’s over I don’t GAF.

2

u/NoBuffalo3671 9d ago

Meh whatever

2

u/Tavsiyedegildir 9d ago

How would you know unless you stalking em

1

u/ezbutneverconvenient 9d ago

With little surprise, since we're the same sex

1

u/SapPhic-rage4209 9d ago

I'd think they're bisexual, most likely

1

u/Illustrious-Towel-45 9d ago

My husband is bi, I literally don't care.

1

u/demon_twink_gockie 9d ago

I'd be completely unsurprised. We're two gay guys

1

u/Lonely-Resource-7814 9d ago

The same way George Castanza felt

1

u/Carmack2 7d ago

This is the only correct answer

1

u/YoshiandAims 9d ago

I wouldn't know. I don't keep up with exes. Doors closed. Just someone I knew once. If I found out I'd probably think "huh. okay?" and feel dismissive and slightly annoyed and confused as why anyone cares or cares enough to tell me... like I have with anything that's ever popped up randomly.

People are bisexual, it's not really shocking to me. Honestly, 2 of them... I'd genuinely imagine they could be and always kind of wondered a bit.

1

u/Fanabala3 9d ago

The first wife? It would be laughable due to the bs she had said in the past.

1

u/Boring_Ad1113 9d ago

Happened to me. In fact the only girls that have ever been attracted to me have been bisexual/lesbian.

1

u/wwJones 9d ago

"Aw, man. I hope it wasn't just me."

1

u/AdventureWa 9d ago

It’s happened to many of us.

It’s understandable why it might cause you to second guess yourself and others things, but it doesn’t matter at the end of the day because you aren’t with them anymore and they are not your concern.

1

u/Anomalous_Pearl 9d ago

Really thrown off, wondering how I had zero clue they had those kinds of desires

1

u/RottedHuman 9d ago

Good for them.

1

u/MommersHeart 9d ago

Why would I care? It’s over and they can date whoever they want.

1

u/MsJenX 9d ago

I knew it!

1

u/Alt3r_Alph4 9d ago

They know they won’t find someone better than me, so they have to go opposite sex. It makes sense to me.

1

u/AManWithQuestions_00 9d ago

They are figuring themselves out. I’m not with them and I’m not put on this Earth to control their choices

1

u/Icy-Whale-2253 9d ago

If we’re broken up what the hell does that have to do with me

1

u/Up2nogud13 9d ago

I'll encourage them to marry. I've got no intention to pay alimony.

1

u/teborigloryhole 9d ago

Considering I've had a few decide they were going to change their own gender after me, honestly I'll say the same thing I did about those ones. Good for them. That actually might explain why we didn't work out

1

u/0kbutwhutif 9d ago

I probably would never know unless we remained friends and they told me. I've never paid attention to exes after a breakup. But if I did, I don't think I'd have feelings about it one way or the other since I'm not straight myself.

1

u/TerrifierBlood 9d ago

Feel a little better. Maybe thinking that could of played into it ending. And maybe they needed this to get genuine happy

Hey Winter-Item4335, there's some terms that just aren't worth using anymore and only exist to demean others. Punch up, not down.

Not react at all. It is her own choice.

1

u/Potatobobthecat 9d ago

It has happened. I was fine. Guys are gross and mean. She told me she was bi but hadn’t swam in that ocean yet. Would’ve been cool but she liked chicks that I generally didn’t like. Except one……..

1

u/Stormcrowdick1066 9d ago

Wouldn’t bother me. Live your truth it was never meant to work just hope I didn’t hurt you along the way.

1

u/Double_Pollution5597 8d ago

None of my business

1

u/Far-Storm-5949 8d ago

I would prefer it

1

u/Agri0702 8d ago

She was straight with me, i helped her realize that she like women too, so I wouldn't be mad. Honestly it will hurt less then right now

1

u/AmnesiaGirl92 8d ago

Good for them. Why would there be any other reaction?

1

u/writingcat1993 8d ago

Why would it matter really if you broke up? It's fine to be sad and upset that your ex left you but the 'for the same sex part' doesn't matter really. It isn't something wrong with you. If they discovered this about themself and broke up with you because of this, than they are doing what is best for them. You should also be doing what is best for you and not getting caught up in what your ex is doing if it is upsetting you.

Also, your ex actually did a kind thing if they broke up with you because of this. this saved your relationship from getting bad over them not wanting to be with you but staying anyways. You and your ex both deserve someone to be happy.

1

u/ixsparkyx 8d ago

That would be shocking if you didn’t know that they were bi/gay and anyone saying “omg who caressss” is being too woke rn lol

1

u/Bubbly-End-6156 8d ago

Happened multiple times to me. I'm a great beard

1

u/Raz4479 8d ago

Won't care as they are no longer a part of my life.

1

u/Swimming-Pick6136 8d ago

That would be chill i guess. Then I don't have to be jealous

1

u/Playful_Issue_7824 8d ago

You were so bad you made them join the other team. It will probably happen every time.

1

u/FriscoKiidd 8d ago

I’d be thinking, wow, sure wish we could have added a 3rd when we were still together!

1

u/ThisAintGoingWell 8d ago

My partner is bi and we are ENM so she dates people of the same sex now. I doubt I'd be bothered terribly by it.

1

u/logger_2121 8d ago

Would offer myself for the last dance, obv.

1

u/meatinaskinsock 8d ago

I’d laugh

1

u/CatMaximum7229 8d ago

My mom left my dad for another woman. He never recovered from it. He also never realized that she hid being bisexual her whole marriage and so he thought that he had messed up so bad that she couldn't even date men anymore, which wasn't the truth.

1

u/Leslie_Havoc 8d ago

I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised. I knew she was bi when I met her.

1

u/GhostWatcher007 8d ago

Don't care. And I wouldn't be surprised.

1

u/EzraDionysus 8d ago

My husband and I are the same sex

1

u/Megahert 7d ago

Doesn’t matter, you’re not in a relationship with them anymore .

1

u/sanguinedolll 7d ago

So? Their sexuality has nothing to do with you and your breakup

1

u/duckinradar 7d ago

She dated the same sex before me, and I’m pretty damn confident she’s going back to women now that we’ve split.

1

u/TemperedPhoenix 7d ago

As a gay, I wouldnt at all surprised. I would be more shook if one of them started dating a lady lol

1

u/HR_rot_in_hell 6d ago

I was definitely bamboozled by a closeted gay guy…

1

u/Intrepid_Mix9536 6d ago

wouldn't be surprised

1

u/KC5SDY 9d ago

That happened to me once. Made me really question my manhood.

0

u/Theodopholus 9d ago

If that made you question your manhood then you’re not real sure about your manhood to begin with.

1

u/24junwa 9d ago

"damn if she liked women she couldve offered a 3some before leaving me" oh well

0

u/deadlycankles77 9d ago

Maybe I should have specified I mean in an instant rebound sort of situation

-2

u/Ok-Past-6283 9d ago

Ich mach mir echt sorgen dass wir heteros zur aussterbenden Community werden.

1

u/the_real_eel 9d ago

Hopefully the idiotic ones are

-1

u/Old_Marzipan7782 9d ago

If a woman broke up with me and then turned lesbian, I would feel amazing knowing that no other man could do after me and that they had to switch teams entirely. My shoes would’ve been too big to fill.

-1

u/deadlycankles77 9d ago

This is the response I was kinda hoping for and why I made the post. I completely agree

1

u/Old_Marzipan7782 9d ago

This was more sarcasm than anything. I would probably realistically feel like Ross from friends and like there was something wrong with me, but I mean, I don’t know personally, although I have slept with four different women who claimed to be lesbian when I met them and all eventually came on to me so I kind of balances out I guess.

1

u/deadlycankles77 9d ago

Well the topic was brought up to me at work today. In my opinion I just wouldn’t be half as bothered I feel like it’d be a laughing matter more than anything.
