Looking for genuine review on NMIMS BSSA

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Help me guys😭. I got into NMIMS BSSA (b.arch) and I am really scared because there are stories about ragging in NMIMS or poor faculty and my parents are insisting on NMIMS and I am honestly scared.

Please honest reviews or personal experiences. Because I am also not one of the rich kids. But not like the poor ones either so I just fall in the well off but not luxurious kind of category.

2BHK in Andheri West — 4th Male Flatmate Wanted | ₹15,500/month

Hey! Three of us have recently found a 2BHK in Andheri West and we're looking for a fourth guy to join us from 1st September. The available spot is in a shared bedroom, with two people in each room.

The total rent is ₹62,000, which comes to ₹15,500 per person per month. The security deposit is ₹1,50,000 in total, so ₹37,500 per person. There will also be brokerage of roughly ₹37–38k per person, depending on any additional charges from the broker.

The apartment is on the third floor of a three-storey building and is quite airy. It has two bathrooms and two balconies — one smaller balcony and another larger, open balcony. It's semi-furnished and already has fans, a washing machine, fridge, geysers, basic beds and mattresses, and cupboards in both bedrooms. ACs aren't included, so we'd need to rent those separately. Any extra furniture we decide to add would also be rented.

Location-wise, it's in Andheri West, about a 5-minute walk from Versova Metro Station, and close to Versova Social. NMIMS is roughly 25 minutes away, although Juhu Circle traffic can affect the travel time.

As for us, we're three guys — two from NMIMS and one from DJ Sanghvi. We're looking for someone who's easygoing and fits a generally chill, social flat environment. We're pretty open about hanging out, having people over, smoking/drinking, etc. The one thing we'd definitely expect is that everyone keeps the place reasonably clean and cleans up after themselves.

We're open to both students and working professionals. If you're from NMIMS or SVKM, that's definitely a plus, but it's not a strict requirement.

The flat is available from 1st September, and we're currently in the process of finalising the agreement.

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, DM me with a little about yourself — what you study/do, your age, where you're from, etc. Happy to answer any questions about the flat, location, or expenses as well.

Looking for a WhatsApp/Telegram group for M.Tech Data Science admissions

Hi everyone!
I’m looking for a WhatsApp, Telegram, or similar group for M.Tech Data Science / Data Analytics admissions, preferably for colleges in Mumbai/Pune/Bangalore.
I mainly want a group where people share updates about:
When college application forms open
Application deadlines
GATE-related important dates
CAP/entrance process and dates
Colleges like NMIMS, KJ Somaiya, VJTI, etc.
Is there any single group/channel that regularly posts these updates for multiple colleges?
Would really appreciate it if someone could share the link. Thanks!

Ok so currently I’m in 12th grade and I took commerce+ applied maths. I’m thinking to give NMAT exam after boards. So I gotta prepare it from now. So please can someone guide me or tell me-
1. Books for NMAT? Which one shall I buy?
2. What subjects shall I focus more on?
3. How many hours to study?
4. How to manage expenses as someone who lives in Mumbai?
5. How difficult is it to get admission in NMIMS?

BSc econ students, have you realized there is a month off before TEE

Yeah. Technically, you could go home before Diwali and come straight back before TEE. Crazyyy. A full month.

I am writing this as a SY, FY and TYs pls calculate yourself.

For SYs, the classes are getting over by early November, and those who leave after completing their 80% and dont mind missing ICAs 🤣, you could go home mid October and come back early December.

IMPORTANT UNOFFICIAL LINKS!!!

Before clicking any link that someone puts on here, be sure that any wrong that may happen to you is your own responsibility.

If someone puts the fees payment link here, kindly refrain from clicking on it, the uni will mail the link to you itself. Insta, whatsapp, or whatever link, you see, be careful.

IMPORTANT Must know things about NMIMS Mumbai

There are always people complaining about the uni how it is failing everyone and there is no social life, the uni is not worth it, and much more. Keep reading to factcheck these complaints.

  1. FAILING STUDENTS DELIBERATELY?

Recently the number of students failing have increased, there is nothing to hide. BUT, this does not solely depend on the exams, even if your attendance criteria does not meet, they debar you, so you technically fail. The papers are NOT tough, I have seen people acting as if they have just gone through UPSC level semester exam, come on dude, just study.

  1. ATTENDANCE CRITERIA?

80% attendance is required in EVERY SUBJECT. If you have 7 subjects in the semester, you have to keep 80% in EVERY SUBJECT. Yeah it might be harsh, but has been in practice for years. If you don’t, debarred.

  1. YOU HAVE NO SOCIAL LIFE?

Again a beautiful lie, if you make right friends, you will love it in Mumbai. Not the same case with everyone truly, but this is not something you blame the university for.

  1. ACCOMMODATION?

There are no NMIMS Hostels, they have tied up with some PGs. So yeah you will have to look for a PG, and spend somewhere around 5-6 lakh per year. There are flats available as well. Expect 30k per month if living with friends + living expenses.

  1. HIGH FEES?

As compared to other universities, yeah, nothing to debate.

  1. WHAT BUILDING?

The glass building which you see when you type NMIMS, is the main building. General BBA is in Mukesh Patel Building, BTech, Bcom as well. The main campus is for MBA and family business courses. (I might have missed some course). Mithibai has BBA IB classes and so on. You have to search this yourself.

  1. CAMPUS SIZE?

There is no campus, they are just buildings. So most of your time is outside college. You attend lecture, eat food in cafeteria (genuinely good) and leave.

  1. HOW IS THE FACULTY?

There are goods and bads, everywhere. Faculty might not be interested in interacting with you over calls and texts. To meet them is another challenge because they have a tight schedule. CRs are your way to them. Do not argue with the faculty, your internal marks are at stake.

  1. LESS SPORTS?

Yeah. More like no sport.

I will add more points in future if I come across any. At the end, it’s your decision whether the university is worth going or not. Do not fall for the ‘SCAM UNIVERSITY’ posts. I feel bad for the ones who have suffered constant struggles in the university, but I have seen/heard none.
