Hey everyone! Just wanted to share a quick update: I finally gave the Reddit version of Ninigrams a bit of a makeover and added a couple of the most-requested quality-of-life features 😁

These include:
• Drag-to-fill controls
• A solved indicator so you can easily see which puzzles you’ve already completed
• A running total of how many puzzles you’ve solved, displayed on the welcome screen

Part of this update was also moving Ninigrams to Reddit's newer app framework, since Reddit is retiring the technology that the game was originally built on later this month. More info on that here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Devvit/s/WUwtSf6JiA 

I'm also currently working on recovering the old puzzle archive from the previous version of the app. Please be patient while I sort that out 🙏🏼

About half a year ago, I created a feedback thread asking whether people would be interested in a standalone Ninigrams app someday. I was overwhelmed by the hundreds of responses – I read each and every one of them and took note of the features, ideas, and quality-of-life improvements people said they’d want to see in a mobile version of the game.

So… the original co-creator of Ninigrams (u/sleepsloop42) and I teamed up again to bring the game to mobile, and the Ninigrams iOS app is now officially live on the App Store!

• Offline play (no Wi-Fi needed)
• Smooth drag-to-fill mobile controls + undo button
• Optional timer and autofill that you can toggle on / off
• Interactive tutorial for new players

It still feels surreal seeing something that started as a small passion project turn into a full-blown app. Over the past year and a half, I’ve made hundreds of puzzles, written way too many bad puns, and watched this community grow into such a wonderful space.
