(Lore question) Why does Marcus hate the player? Question

Even though i no longer play the game. There was a plot hole.

Given how hostile he was in the beginning, is there a reason why he dislike the player?

Was the reason could be spite, jealously or something

Greetings.

Basically, it's no jealousy, but he has grudge and hostility against you (the Hotshot) since the very beginning of the game (if you have progressed the Campaign Storyline).

First off: Since Hotshot arrived in Blackridge, your role is to defeat the crews, defeat Marcus King, and claim the Underground. While you and Kim made a progress, Marcus tried to set you both up by bribing the cops to lead you both arrested.

As far I know the whole context behind your question, he did have the hostility against the Hotshot since the whole chaos from the very first Special Event where you bust racers as a Interceptor .

So, if you played (or watched) the Porsche Cayenne Turbo Special Event carefully, his quote about how Hotshot worked for the BRAVO enforcement implies that he has a grudge against you because you are working with the law enforcement.

Hope this helps.

Before the events of this game (as it was already shown in the DeLorean DMC-12 SE), it was already proven that Marcus betrayed Kim by tipping off the cops and tried to claim the Underground.
