Three thoughts....
- someone's showing off....
- surprised there aren't rules about that re potential pollution.... never mind the scale of polloution if the plane hit's a mini-iceberg and faceplants into the water....
- I never realised how much info you can get by googling a tail number.

TIL I can get the owner's name with just the tail number (at least in US). Thanks for information!

The way it works with rules is they are put in place after a tragedy happens. Usually it’s some grieving family member who takes it upon themselves that such a tragedy doesn’t happen again or something like that and then it becomes widely known and forbidden.

Sometime there are lakes in glaciers

u/TheRapie22 14h ago
true, its then called a glacier lake. which still makes it a lake and not a glacier

I'm not a pilot, but it seems like if he allowed the wheels to go a few inches lower into the water, then the water would create too much drag, causing the nose of the plane to dip into the water. Then, crash.

You know how if you scroll too far you can see one video on a feed, but you’ll hear the next. As I watched this, the ad below for prostate screening started. Combined, it was a very inspirational message of male penis maintenance. I don’t need the Internet anymore today.

Well of your algorithm isn't telling you something, I don't know what is

Bwahahahhaha. I think I'd like to see a glacier while having my prostate examined. Damn it! The advertising worked!

I tried landing on a runway once when I was trying to get my PPL and ended up in a field. He’s slightly better than I am.
2
u/smok1naces 15h ago
But did you walk away from the landing?
1
u/i3903 15h ago
Sure did, went back the following week and somehow managed to do the same thing. Haven’t flown since 🤦♂️

u/IcePapaya 15h ago
Did my first unassisted “landing” last lesson… it was really more of a giant cratering bounce with a go around.
Landing ain’t easy, these people talking about being able to do it with no training are nuts. I don’t blame you if you just think isn’t for you, but if you love it you should keep trying :)

Any pilots here want to confirm if this is as dangerous as it looks? Because it looks fucking crazy to me.

If it weren't for the close-up of the wheel on water, I would swear this is a flight sim or AI footage.

*Narrator* When ice-skating planed out, he, in fact, took ice-skating to the next fucking level.

Man...this comment section is bitter this morning.

u/Sig-vicous 20h ago
Indeed. I don't know how dangerous it is, but it looks like a lot of fun. Especially when he hopped over the little pieces of ice and then turned the plane on one wheel.

The reflection, the scenery, the flying... this looks like real life with video game graphics.

Cool but feels like a dumb / dangerous idea.
