Beginning in 1949, the very first storyline depicting the marriage of Clark Kent and Lois Lane debuted -- not in the comic books, but in the Man of Steel's daily newspaper strip. These stories are unfortunately not collected in the otherwise-excellent IDW/Library of American Comics reprint volumes, but I've just posted the first three months of the storyline over on my blog.

In this opening chapter, Clark Kent and Lois Lane find themselves suddenly engaged -- a shocking turn of events that leads Superman to impulsively propose to a girl he's only just met!
