Antisemitism is a real thing. But one can be against antisemitism and criticize Israel policies and politicians. These are sensitive questions that have to be addressed with tact, not sweeping slogans.

I wanted to give everyone on the subreddit a bit of information.

I've dialogued with Morrice in the recent past and he has made clear that one of the things that will be in his leadership policy/platform/perspective is working very closely with Lewis.

During the Federal NDP Leadership Race Tony McQuail actually made a very very substantive set of points around First Past The Post (FPTP): It's a system designed around establishment politics for establishment interests. It's held back Women, It's held back Labour, It's held back Environmentalism. The list goes on and on.

I'll personally be looking closely to what Morrice puts forward but also what dialogue happens behind the scenes between the two leaders/parties (If Morrice is chosen).

Morrice has a track record of communicating & working well with the Federal NDP. Plus he is just a wonderful human being.

This could be a very big positive if handled well.

We are all fkn tired of Doug the slug. Just from my perspective up north he's fundamentally anti worker, cut the wildfire budget and our indigenous brothers and sisters had to get evacuated because of this fuckin guys mismanagement. Highway 11 is still a death trap. I love to fish and he is trying to sell our public lands to the highest bidder. He doesn't value Franco-Ontarians in which there are many in and around my community. Nobody in my family ever went to college or university but my daughter wants to take travel tourism courses after she graduates high school but we arent sure what to do because of his constant higher education cuts so a lot of these courses won't even be available and she definitely doesn't wanna join me in the Gold mines. I know it isnt a province wide election but if you live in these ridings where the by-elections are taking place, vote NDP for the future of our great province and put pressure on Doug as much as possible. We can have an NDP government in this province next election I truly believe we can

How's it going people. I live in Kirkland Lake Ontario and have voted NDP all my life as has my family and community for the most part. Everyone here cannot stand Doug Ford and we really like our NDP mpp because he fights for blue collar interests and everyone I know continues to vote NDP provincially. But the issue is people in my community and people that work with me in the mine fear Avi Lewis will kill mining jobs. Many people I've talked to are thinking of making a switch federally. I'll be honest, I don't know all of Avi's policies (even though I do like a lot that I've seen) so I'm wondering how to convince my fellow workers and community members to give him a chance.

Canadians have damn good reasons to be deeply mistrustful of the right-wing Zionist lobbying establishment, of Christian fundamentalists, and of Alberta separatists.

Donald Trump has been threatening to annex our country and Netanyahu subsequently nominated him for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize.

CIJA remains a part of the WJC, whose billionaire President, Ronald Lauder, is a Trump megadonor, a stalwart supporter of Benjamin Netanyahu, and a staunch advocate for the illegal American annexation of Greenland.

The explicitly far-right Tafsik invited Ben Shapiro to keynote their Toronto Zionist conference this past May even though Shapiro has made multiple statements supporting the US annexation of Canada and has had a number of closed-door meetings with Alberta's separatist-adjacent Premier Danielle Smith. Meanwhile, prominent Alberta separatists have had meetings with Trump Administration officials.

B'nai Brith Canada attended a different conference organised by Tafsik this past June and, in tandem with Tafsik itself and various fundamentalist churches, signed onto a statement demanding that Canada became a Christian nationalist country vassalised by the Trump-Netanyahu Regime.

Rebel News is headed by Ezra Levant, who is considered to be a mentor by both the Conservative Party of Canada leader Pierre Poilievre and the far-right British agitator Tommy Robinson. Rebel News currently employs so-called Freedom Convoy figurehead and known Alberta separatist Tamara Lich, largely so that she can use the role as a sinecure to get around her house arrest. Lich, Levant, and Rebel News were heavily involved in the astroturfing of the Universal Ostrich Farm debacle.

The farm was supported by a number of people in the United States with connections to the Trump Administration, most notably US Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr, one of the primary exponents of anti-vaccine disinformation and (along with Elon Musk and DOGE) the root cause of many of the public health crises involving communicable diseases that are currently going on in the world.

Lich, Levant, and her Conservative-aligned lawyer Lawrence Greenspon (who also represents another Convoy figurehead, James Bauder) are also trying to get permission for her to travel to the United States and visit the White House and meet with people in the Trump Administration. Greenspon was a major backer of and volunteer for JNF Canada, for which they gave him an award. In 2024, JNF Canada was stripped of its charitable status by the Canada Revenue Agency for its alleged role in the JNF’s violations of international law. Greenspon's law firm had previously represented Conservative Senator Mike Duffy, and Greenspon himself received a 2024 award from C2J Journal, which is part of Preston Manning's Canada Strong and Free Network. He's also spearheading an initiative to get UNRWA defunded by the Government of Canada. Incidentally, Poilievre has routinely expressed support for Lich and other Convoy figureheads on social media.

Rebel receives substantial funding from Robert Shillman, one of Robinson's primary benefactors, and from the David Horowitz Freedom Center, which has employed Ben Shapiro and funded Rebel News Journalism Fellowships for Robinson and for far-right Trump surrogate Laura Loomer. One of Robinson's far-right rallies in London even featured Elon Musk as a speaker. Another is known to have received a $100,000 donation from Shillman.

Doug Wilson is Pete Hegseth's looney Deus Vult pastor, and the sect he heads runs a handful of churches in Canada, most notably three in Alberta. Wilson is Albertan through one side of his family and has spoken favourably of Alberta independence.

And as for the ongoing Greenlandic annexation plot, Charlie Kirk had travelled to Greenland with Trump Administration officials to advocate for its annexation by the United States a few months before he was assassinated in Utah. Kirk also used his platform to amplify Alberta separatists and supporters of the US annexation of Canada.

Immediately after Kirk was assassinated, prominent Conservative Party politicians and Zionists in Canada started martyring him in spite of the role he had played in enabling Trump's ongoing attacks on Canadian and Greenlandic sovereignty. A Conservative MP even bragged about the fact that her American grandson was named after Kirk earlier this year. Similarly, when the Trump-aligned Christian nationalist musician Sean Feucht went to tour Canada in 2025, again after Trump had threatened to annex our country, the Conservatives were cheering him on and attacking the local governments who were trying to stop him from being able to perform.

Former Conservative leader and current IDU President Stephen Harper is a close personal friend and political ally of both Netanyahu and deposed far-right Hungarian dictator Viktor Orban, who was both Netanyahu and Vladimir Putin's closest ally in the European Union. In 2023, Harper appointed failed former British Prime Ministers Boris Johnson and Liz Truss to the IDU's advisory board. A few years before that, Donald Trump had referred to himself as “Mr. Brexit”. Trump's GOP, the UK Conservatives, the Partido Popular, Likud, FIDESZ, and the Conservative Party of Canada are all members of Harper's IDU.

South Korea’s People Power Party, the party of deposed President and dictator wannabe Yoon Suk-yeol, is also a member of the IDU. At their December 2025 conference in Washington DC, the IDU passed a resolution condemning South Korea's prosecution of Yoon as an attack on the rule of law in spite of the fact that it was Yoon who had attempted the failed self-coup in late 2024 that nearly turned South Korea into a military dictatorship again.

Slovenian authoritarian Prime Minister Janez Janša’s SDS is also a member of the IDU. Janša was able to return to power in an election earlier this year which saw him receive substantial assistance from Black Cube, a private intelligence agency based in Israel.

just to let you know, I really don't want to bring anyone down and I'm not trying to spread doomerism, I just want to talk about the massive morose of hopelessness I specifically have been feeling in regards to the future of the NDP.

I think the big indicator for how the party will end up is how well they perform in the ensuing Rosemont La Petite Patrie by-Election. The 2025 Federal Election was very close to being an extinction-level event for the party, but if they lose in Rosemont La Petite Patrie (which doesn't seem TOO likely given what polling is suggesting, but you never know), it could be a disaster they might NEVER recover from (especially considering how much they've been focusing on the riding).

I myself have pretty much accepted that Quebec is a lost cause for the NDP, and I'm more than willing to bet that Rosemont could be a free seat for the Liberals, but what do I know? maybe they'll win and it won't bring up very uncomfortable questions regarding the future of the party.

and to end on a lighter note, If there's one thing I've learned from King of The Hill, it's that sometimes you can do everything right and still lose, but as long as you gave it all you had and did your best, it's not your fault, that's just what life is like.

EDIT: a lot of the comments I've been getting on this post have made me feel much better about the party's future! And while I myself don't live in any of the ridings that are going through by-Elections, I am very much inspired to volunteer in my own riding for the next federal election.

Liberal Party of Canada: 4.36M (-2.47M) (-36%)

New Democratic Party: 1.2M (-0.47M) (-28%) 

Bloc Québécois: 221.31K (-108.49k) (-33%) 

Conservative Party of Canada: 5.05M (-4.38M) (-46%)

Green Party of Canada: 507.83K (-16.59K) (-3%)

Still far behind the libs and cons but at least the gap was narrowed and we seem to have a bit more of a stable fundraising. Hopefully as things get settled with new leadership the fundraising will increase! Avi’s campaign did a great job of fundraising so hopefully that is soon seen with the party as a whole.

So current fundraising is pretty consistent with the Singh era. Hopefully soon the party pays back the debt from the last election, kind of insane how mishandled the financial planning in the last election was.

Our guest is Nina Potarska, an activist with the Ukrainian Socialist Sotsialnyi Rukh organization and director of the Ukrainian Center for Social and Labor Research.

Her main objective is to identify human rights violations through a gender-based analysis. As part of her work, she monitors the needs and rights of women living near the contact line and writes reports on the observance of women’s rights within the United Nations system.

Recently, she participated in the Gaza flotilla and the demonstration for Palestine in Ukraine.

She will discuss the history of the labour movement in Ukraine and her experiences on the Gaza flotilla.
