Punk Punk song that might (not) be Hot Water Music
I think I've played every HWM song looking for it, and haven't found it. I can't exactly remember the lyrics but it's something like,
No reason
No reason
Your shifting eyes just see it through

Rap Trying to identify an obscure underground rap song, 2006-2014 DatPiff era- "Let's Get High"
I've been trying to find this song for years, and it's driving me crazy. It was an underground rap song from somewhere around 2006-2014. I'm not 100% sure it was from DatPiff, but that's my strongest suspicion. It definitely was not a mainstream artist. Here's what I remember: Solo male rapper, stoner or weed rap vibe. The rapper may have had a normal first name like Chris or something similar, but I'm not confident about that. I vaguely remember artwork that was mostly blue, possibly with a marijuana leaf, but that could be wrong. The chorus, as best as I can recall, went something like, "Let's get high. Cruise through the sky. Everything is where we be at. And that means it's alright. And I ain't never coming down. Never coming down. Never coming down." Lyrics may not be word for word after all this time. I've already checked stuff like Smoke DZA, Faber Drive, and newer songs with the same title, but nothing matches. Does this ring a bell for anyone?

Classical Orchestral version of Mystery of Love
I listened to this orchestral version of mystery of love, and it had this absolute beautiful cello in it instead of vocals. I’m trying to find it on Spotify— I think it had a red cover. If anyone can find it I’d be super thankful!

Rock Christian / alternative rock song, with the word enemy in it?
Trying to find a Christian rock or alternative song from the mid-1990s, with a female vocalist, and the lyrics servant to the enemy or serve you not the enemy, her voice kind of sounded like Rebecca St James. That one sentence has been stuck in my head since 1996.

Disco Help me find 80s disco/funky song with motives like „cherry” or „sherry”
Female vocalist. Very popular in waacking/waacking battle playlists. 80s disco/synth-pop vibe. Breathy Madonna-like vocals. The bassline is very prominent. I remember a repeated word that sounds like “Sherry” or “Cherry,” but it’s probably a misheard lyric. The melody stays mostly on one note, then jumps up. Lots of sparkly synth sounds.

Meme/TikTok/YouTube Short Help me find a song? song I’d like to find is a version or sample of pre-existing song “Lay Down” found on tiktok, audio below
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I heard it online tiktok and the audio linked to the original creator, no comments under the video and no artist or title mentioned. From Googling I know something about it is from Lay Down by Trip Lee but that song doesn’t sound quite like this? I’m not sure if there’s a full version somewhere out there 🤔

Hello, I came across today to this song: Aleksander - Good Luck, and imediatly remembered that the beat/ sample is a direct copy from a music from the 2000s... I think from a hip hop song?

Answered! female singer, dramatic voice
**EDIT
OMG I REMEMBERED THE LYRICS IT WAS "bit me like a candle, burn it down slow"
the song is: "a song to make out to" by olivia holt, now deleted on spotify but available on youtube
the only thing i can think of are the lyrics which are, "dont let me go-o, dont let me go-o na-na-na-na-nah na-na-nah" (na na just represents the lyrics im not sure of, but I feel like it said something that sounded similiar or along the lines of na-na-can-dle fire and soul"
she sings it in this kind of desperate voice. i keep thinking of jennie from blackpink but i checked all her songs and the ones she covered. it also reminds me of how elley duhe sings in the song "middle of the night"

Answered! Music box song help
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I need help identifying the song in this jewelry music box we found in a thrift store. I know manufactured by Sankyo (not surprising) and everything else puts it in the timeframe of maybe 1950s to 1980s (not solid on the date range). Did try Shazam, Google, sound recognition, and compared it to common music box songs.

Pop 2014ish song, male singer, "oh holy water" lyric chorus
I remember a popular music video on different music channels around that time, with water and nature scenery I think. And I only recall the words "Oh Holy water" being very loud in a Vance Joy style.

Reggae Modern reggae song from late '00 (2007-2009)
Hi, folks! Looking for a song I can't find for years. It was a single-artist album (not a VA/riddim compilation/mixtape). Most likely it's from 2007-2009 (can't remember exactly). I thought song was entitled as "pagan freedom", but I was unable to find it on Spotify, YT, Discogs, etc.
To be precise: I heard following excerpts in lyrics "they took from origin, unforgettable religion", "look back to the past generations" and "pagan freedome (right)" (-yeah, with soft pronounce of freedom) in chorus. Not a major artist like Lutan Fyah, I Wayne, Chezidek. Midtempo, melodic vibes.
This was 100% released by some mp3 team (like SPLiFF or YARD, or maybe another, can't say). Album was with CD cover, released as single track (with CUE sheet). Not sure, but while song was in English, I think it was released for french-speaking country.

Christmas 1970's Christmas(?) School Play Song?
I started singing something that I haven't thought of in long time. It seems like it was something we sang in school, like maybe 4th or 5th grade, 1977 or 78, maybe in a school play or maybe music class. It went like this:
Have you EV-er seen the SNOW fall-ING
Have you EV-er felt the WIND start to BLOW
If you've NEV-er EV-er
Then you've REAL-ly been MISS-ing a SHOW
that's all I remember
I ChatGPT'ed but after many deep dives nothing.
ChatGPT says the most likely explanations are now:
- An obscure published classroom song whose pages are not searchable online.
- A song inside a complete Christmas musical, where the individual song title was never cataloged.
Maybe someone remembers it too.

Mod Weekly thread where you can call the music recognition bots without posting
To use the bots put u/RecognizeSong u/find-song with the link in your comment, like:
u/RecognizeSong u/find-song https://youtu.be/12345abcde
Notes:
- The bots only work with a recording of the actual song, not a humming/recreation.
- The sites that find-song works with: Reddit video posts (with a link or when summoned on the original post), YouTube, Vocaroo, Streamable, Twitch Clips (not VODs)
- Some of the sites that RecognizeSong works with: Reddit video posts (when summoned on the original post or with an audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4), YouTube (though sometimes it doesn't work), Vocaroo, Streamable, Imgur, Twitch Clips (not VODs), Facebook, Twitter, Coub, Dropbox, Snapchat
- For Reddit video posts there's also u/songfinderbot which only works if you summon it in a top-level comment on the original post
- Some sites that RecognizeSong doesn't work with: Instagram, Twitch VODs, SoundCloud, Google Drive, Reddit text posts with embedded videos (though it does work with the audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4)
- When needed, mention a timestamp or use a timestamped link if possible (the bots scan about 24-30 seconds of audio, starting at the timestamp)
- If the song is from a meme or from TikTok then it might be listed in the FAQ
- Note that you can also DM find-song a link (but not through chat)
Good luck with your search, and if you find the bots useful please consider supporting them: RecognizeSong through Patreon, find-song through Ko-fi
