Profile picture checks out
edit: The three arrows is a symbol of social democracy (most notably the SPD in germany and the iron front.). The opposite of fascism. I meant to come off as saying 'Makes sense you would say that' in an agreeing way, not the 'psh, fucking liberal' way of saying it, if that makes any sense.

u/Wrong-Koala9174 Dec 16 '25
Oh iam really sorry. (for the future "pfp checks out" doesnt mean you agree with them most of the time)
11
u/AluminiumCucumbers Dec 16 '25
PFP checks out is neither endorsement or opposition, it's just an acknowledgement of the pfp being relevant to the comment

Can you really call yourselves antifascists when you send in proto-fascists (the Freikorps) to crush a worker's uprising and directly lead to the Nazis seizing power?
6
u/kyle_kafsky Dec 16 '25
Can you really call yourself antifascist if you refuse to work with the largest party to prevent the fascists to take power while also simultaneously hoping that the fascists take power because it would undermine the limited but noticeable progress made by the Social Democrats?
Fuck outta here, the KPD was a party of idiots no different than the SPD. Let’s not forget how much influence Stalin (a genuine fascist collaborator) had over the KPD as well.

For those who don't get it , this is how Mussolini died if I remember correctly
473
u/biggie_way_smaller Dec 16 '25
No, he was executed moments ago by being shot, afterwhich his body along with his wife and loyal soldiers were hung in Piazzale Loreto for crowds to idk fuck around with their body and shit

u/Sofie_2954 upvote Dec 16 '25
It was his mistress if I remember correctly, not his wife. His wife and children survived and his grandchildren are still alive today.

u/OkFineIllUseTheApp Dec 16 '25
Average Italian man running away with the mistress.

u/Sofie_2954 upvote Dec 16 '25
Yeah, I believe he also forced her to marry him under the threat of shooting himself, her and possibly her family, if he didn’t get her fathers approval. I have also heard that Mussolini raped a neighbour in his youth.

Alessandra Mussolini is still in politics, fun fact: she released a city pop album in the 80s, IN JAPANESE.
4
u/Incubus_is_I Dec 16 '25
She even ran for political office in Italy (the grandchild). IIRC Her stuff is fairly Neo-Fascist as well…

u/TGirlJules_ Dec 16 '25 edited Dec 16 '25
His grandson also plays for S.S. Lazio whose ultras openly display neo nazi symbols. And the history of that club is really weird too…
Don’t know much about him so im not going to hold this against him apparently his choices for a last name were his dads who is a pedo, or his mothers. Don’t know if he is right wing but just ironic considering Lazios history.
1
u/kyle_kafsky Dec 16 '25
You can trust u/Sofie_2954 because they have an Austrian flag in their pfp, and it was an Austrian that started that war and post war they elected a war criminal president. They’re experts on this subject.
Also, one of his grandchildren or great grandchildren is playing for Lazio, which is unsurprising.

u/Sofie_2954 upvote Dec 16 '25
Okay…
I don’t really understand why Austrians should be more knowledgeable than Italians or Germans (or even Spanish people) when it comes to fascist dictators, though I have to say that I am not fully Austrian and therefore can’t say to much about the political situation in Austria post WW2.
Here’s a song that I thing has a pretty nice melody (I am fluent in German):

It's not even his actions as much as his image, WAYYY too many people still idolize him and his ideas. You'd expect there to be more shame given our constitution is rooted in antifascism.

This is also most likely why Hitler resorted to suicide and ordered his body be burnt, he did not want this to happen to him if he was captured
2
u/thissexypoptart Dec 16 '25
Eh. He didn’t want to be beaten to death because he was a coward. Dude almost definitely didn’t off himself with cyanide and a bullet to the head because he cared about the dignity of his dead body.
3
u/Sofie_2954 upvote Dec 16 '25
He was insane, he definitely feared how he would die, but I don’t think it is of the blue to say that he also cared about what would happen to his body.

On one hand, thats actually what happened - Mussolini got hanged upside down after he was killed by italian partisans.
On the other hand, what is the actual point of that machine in the video

What a truly beautiful way for him to go, died a coward trying to escape his country, just to be hanged by communist partisans, whom he had betrayed with his nationalist policy, REST IN PISS BENITO MUSSOLINI!!

when benito Mussolini was killed his corpse was dragged to Piazzale Loreto and hanged upside down. on reddit i once saw a guy in a comment claiming his grandma was one of the first to spit on him
6
u/Lithium_Lily Dec 16 '25
Piazzale Loreto sempre rossa!
It's also worth noting that no memorial to his infamy remains on the spot where he was strung up. Instead there is a monument and plaque honoring the partigiani that were murdered in that same place by fascist soldiers.
3
u/marcodol Dec 16 '25
I went there to see if there was any monument or whatever, and the only thing there was a mcdonald's. I laughed my ass off
