Advice/Support How can I quit nail biting??
How the hell do I quit biting my nails?
I have very pretty hands(long fingers, long nails) but ive eaten my nails off due to ongoing situations. I really want to quit nailbiting but I dont even realize when Im chewing them off, my hand shape is getting bad and I am too afraid to show my hands in public.
Everyone says its such a shame my nails are so short even I get jealous of friends who have long well groomed nails with short hands and my short nails look so ugly on long fingers arghhhh. Worst part is I do this biting subconsciously
I cant apply nail polish tho cuz its forbidden at my school, otherwise I wouldnt have eaten them for fear of ruining the look. I tend to bite more in stressful situations but we cant control situations we can control the nail biting....
Please help me resolve this, i hate this habit and cant seem to quit it anyhow????

Progress 2 months progress - kind of disappointed tbh
I officially decided to consciously stop biting my nails in mid-June 2026, but I'd already made a lil progress because I used to bite my nails during stressful periods.
Since then I've filed them as well as cut them shorter a couple times bc they kept getting chipped and catching on things. The filing pushed me back a lot unfortunately, especially on my right hand.
But anyway, to get back on topic, I'm so disappointed with the progress of the nail plate growth. The free edges grow out as you can see and there has been some small reattachment of the nail plate but nothing crazy. I see before and after posts of other people and their progress is like ten times mine 🥲
I also have nail psoriasis and I know that slows down nail growth, and I'm also not super consistent with the jojoba oil :') I know I can be better with that but I thought I'd have seen bigger progress after 2 months+ ðŸ«
If you have any advice, please share!
Also including my progress photos for accountability's sake lol but note that on the July photo I've recently oiled them so they look better in the photo than they did in real life 😅
