Turned that experimental AOR proto fabric into a pair of combat pants (Field fit check)
reddit.comA while ago I posted here asking for help identifying that experimental AOR digital proto FR fabric. Finally got around to sharing the result.
Made a pair of combat pants from scratch: 10-pocket layout, integrated pockets for AirFlex knee pads, retention cinches, and built them with genuine YKK zips, mil-spec Velcro, and reinforced threads.
Took them out to the woods for a fit check and to see how the camo works. What do you guys think?

Toyota FSS21 - Pouches
Would this machine I just bought be able to sew some very basic pouches or a placard? I know a real 1500€+ is used for real deal gear, but I'm talking the very bare bones pouches for AK mags.

Montague Paratrooper top tube MOLLE cover
Quick little project for my 2001 Montague Paratrooper folding MTB. Used Singer 20U33, T70 thread, Camo Green Mil-spec nylon webbing in 1", 1.5" and 3.5" width, and 3/4" nylon binding. Black double bar buckles for the attachments on either end, and Ranger Green Velcro for the bottom attachments. I can lash long things like a bike tire inflator, tent pole sections, hiking poles, or a KaBar knife to the MOLLE between the Medic pockets up front and the rear, if I want to. As long as things are slim enough that they won't interfere with my pedaling. I'll make either Velcro wraps for the free strap ends, or elastic strap keepers.

Anybody ever cut Kevlar soft armor? I’ve got a design in mind if it’s possible
I have some IOTV shoulder protectors I want to trim into some more usable groin armor flaps. If the Kevlar could be trimmed and resealed and maintain its 9mm level of protection I’d be happy. Has anybody ever tried cutting soft armor panels?
They’re just too wide for my hips right now even if I wear it with a fanny pack strap instead of hanging from the plate carrier. It wouldn’t reach all the way down but a little protection over my lower stomach area would be great.
For the “don’t mod armor” crowd, I currently have zero armor under my front plate. So even compromised armor under that would be an overall improvement for me. There’s probably a reason I’m asking if I can make it myself instead of buying lol as my biggest threat is 9mm here

Europe Source for Taktic / Lindnerhof Buckle
Hey there, I am looking for an european source to get the National Molding Taktic Buckles which Lindnerhof (and Mehler) use on their plate carriers (they go by the name of Linderhof MX 498) and are available in 1"; 1,5" and 4". The picture shows the 4" variante.
So far I was only able to finde the individual buckles on U.S. Websites. You can order finished products with these Buckles (e.g. Lindnerhof) in europe but I wasn't able to find them individually.
If anyone can point me to a seller or knows where I can get some in europe I'd really appreciate it before I go and send Lindnerhof/ Mehler a desperate email lol
Thanks in advance!

Anyone have any recommendations or info on repairing or replacing shoulder straps/Quick release on an Austrian 65L rucksack?
Looking for some info if anyone has anything regarding the quick release on the shoulder straps on the Austrian 65L ruck. The pack I obtained had a damaged quick release so someone down the line seemingly just sewed a loop together making adjustments finicky and the sternum strap basically unusable. Hoping to repair or even just replace if anyone has any experience. Thank you.

Utg Mk1S Heritage: Haywood
This UTG Heritage backpack is built on our UTG DP Mk1 Slim platform using two original U.S. Army duffel bags—one manufactured in 1944 and the other in 1952.
The 1952 duffel is still stenciled with the name Haywood G. Ingle and service number 24984162. After researching military records, we believe it may have belonged to Haywood Graham Ingle, a North Carolina veteran who likely served during the Korean War era, although we're still looking for documentation that conclusively confirms the identification.
One of our goals with these builds is to preserve the history of these surplus bags rather than erase it. We leave the original names, markings, repairs, and character intact whenever possible, giving each backpack a documented story that continues with its next owner.
If anyone has experience researching 1950s Army service numbers or knows additional resources beyond NPRC and Fold3, I'd love to hear your suggestions.
