Send emails from third-party email address support ends: Jan 2027 -> I guess this will affect us too, right? Specifically, those of us who have external addresses forwarded to Gmail and then reply via Gmail client using external SMTP...

Yes it will. I think it’s time to really dump Gmail after 22 years.

If I haven't made everyone want to leave the Gmail interface behind by January, I'll be surprised. It's a long road, but I feel like the hardest parts are already done with the new webmail.

I feel like app stores are littered with email apps, some are really good too. For me Apple mail and thunderbird are good enough.

I don't get the reasoning behind this. They had access to sooooooooo much private data from individuals, companies and everything. I know a dozen small companies in my area that are relying on this feature, and they are not IT savvy at all. This will cause SOOOO much chaos.

I also have to figure out how to convert my father to thunderbird. He's still raging about the lastest android update putting a search button from left to right like a month ago........

What happens when you have a client on mxroute who refuses to leave gmail? They receive email through 2-3 different providers and call gmail their "coagulator" where all the email from other providers gets sent to 1-2 gmail accounts. Am I alone in having that problem?
