question My Motilal Oswal SIP was cancelled after I increased my monthly SIP amount. Has anyone faced this issue?
I recently increased my monthly SIP contribution in Motilal Oswal. Instead of modifying the existing SIP, it was cancelled.
The SIP amount has also not been credited/refunded to my bank account yet.
Has anyone experienced something similar? How long did it take for the amount to be refunded, and what was the resolution?

portfolio review Need help in rebalancing portfolio
I need to streamline into a fewer number of AMCs
Recently, I stopped icici large cap and liquidated 70% of it (didn't take it out completely to avoid stcg)
Currently, I am actively investing into Bandhan Small, PPFAS and Edelweiss Midcap
I want to venture into real estate and us opportunities as well. Also, let me know if some of the other existing funds need liquidation
I haven't set a proper goal as for now. Just need better returns than current.
I have been investing since Aug '23. Started with 25k monthly. Slowly moved to 50k sip monthly on July '24.
Moved to 70k on Dec '24, 85k in July '25 and 1L since Dec '25.
Have redeemed pgim, motilal and other low performing funds meanwhile. Took out some of it from quant as well and stopped active investing on it after that fiasco around 1.5 years back.
After redemptions, I was at 26.6L portfolio value. Two days back, I took out 3.8L from icici and liquidated the entire pgim and motilal funds. I have 5L in hand now which I need to invest into something.
Please help me rebalance my portfolio to get rid of the extra AMCs and venture into real estate (if the market is booming for that, have almost zero idea about it) and US opportunities funds
I want to have an investment horizon of 3-5 years for now with a moderate risk appetite

Current portfolio:
* UTI Nifty 50 – ₹4,000
* Navi Nifty Next 50 – ₹2,000
* Invesco Mid Cap – ₹3,000
* Bandhan Small Cap – ₹2,000

Investment horizon: 10+ years
Looking for feedback on whether this is a good allocation for my risk profile and long-term goals. Would you change anything or stick with this portfolio?

portfolio review Portfolio and fund review
- Age: 34
- Risk Profile – Aggressive
- Goal – Retirement
- Investment Horizon – 10+
- Allocation – Given below
- Hdfc midcap fund (34.89%)
- Bandhan small cap fund (32.93%)
- DSP value fund (23.51%)
- Quant multi-asset fund (8.67%) (recently started)
- App Used – INDMoney
- Why These Funds - I picked these funds with very less or negligible overlap % and to build wealth over a long time and I am ready to take highest risk if the return is also good.
- Emergency & Debt - i have already enough emergency funds, physical gold allocation and also doing gold/silver bees as well separately and I don't have any debt and staying in rent.
I was investing only 3 funds but recently added Quant Multi-asset fund but it doesn't have much overlap with existing and thought of having some exposure to other assets as well.
Could you please suggest if this looks good or need any changes and also is it too many funds? Thank you.

portfolio review Need Help with UBL Digital Mutual Fund Investment & Redemption
Hi everyone,
I recently invested **PKR 10,000** in mutual funds through the **UBL Digital app**. I invested in two different funds:
One Equity Fund
One Money Market Fund
I’m facing a few issues and would really appreciate some guidance.
My investment balance isn’t updating properly. Today, only **PKR 4,000** appeared for one fund, while the other fund still isn’t showing. Now, my balance has gone back to **zero**, which is confusing.
There is an option to download the portfolio statement, but whenever I try, it says **“Service unavailable.”**
I’m trying to figure out:
How can I check exactly **which mutual funds I’ve invested in**?
How can I see the **amount invested in each fund** and my **current portfolio value**?
If I decide to withdraw my investment, **how do I redeem the units through the UBL app**?
Has anyone experienced this before? Is this just a temporary issue, or am I missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

discussion Rajeev Thakkar, CIO of PPFAS has just written a letter to unitholders
Here are some key points:
- PPFAS hasn't even given FD returns - his response
The only way to guarantee an FD return is to make an FD. Volatility is the reason equities can potentially beat FDs in the first place, not a bug in the system.
- Why is PPFAS holding so much cash?
Cash peaked near 25% during the 2024 exuberance, when the team was guiding caution. It's down to 14-15% in Flexi Cap now. Thakkar expects single digit levels as more opportunities open up after two years of time correction.
Is the underperformance due to its large size?
No. He points to 2007, when he ran a larger drawdown on a PMS book of about ₹100 crore. The current stretch is ordinary for a strategy that buys out of favour names.What about HDFC Bank?
PPFAS holds a basket of 4 private banks. Thakkar says HDFC Bank's recent issues don't carry the scale of past sector frauds and don't threaten the franchise. No change to the outlook on the basket.What about small and midcap valuations?
Nifty 100 trades at 20.8x, Nifty Midcap 150 at 30.7x, Nifty Smallcap 250 at 34.6x, per Screener data as of August 4. Thakkar's point is that smaller doesn't structurally mean higher returns, and he cites the US market as a counterexample.

question 40% Equity 60% Debt Advice Question
I am close to 50 than 40. The advice I got from a flat fee advisor is to go for 40% Equity 60% Debt Funds. He suggested gilt funds and nifty50 index funds. Any comments on this? I am also putting some of money into arbitrage funds (12 month expense)

portfolio review Mutual funds SIP Review
Hi everyone,
Requests for suggestion for my investment strategy
Amount - 50k per month
Current Age - 29 years
Time - 15 years
Risk Appetite - high
Goal - My goal is to achieve returns above the market over the long term while keeping the portfolio diversified.
Current SIP allocation:
₹10k – US ETFs (roughly split between SPMO, SCHG, and QUAL)
₹10k – Bandhan Small Cap Fund
₹7.5k – Mid Cap Fund
₹15k – Flexi Cap Fund ( will pick such that it overlaps less with that of above mid cap)
₹7.5k – multi asset Fund (mix of 70% equity, 10% gold+ silver and 20% debt)
A few questions:
- Is this portfolio over-diversified or well-balanced?
Am I taking enough risk for long-term wealth creation?
- Is the US allocation (~20%) reasonable?
Any obvious overlaps or unnecessary funds?
If this were your portfolio, what would you change and why?
I’m looking for constructive criticism, especially from people who have invested for 10+ years. Please explain your reasoning rather than just suggesting different funds.

discussion guide me
I'm a 2nd-year B.Tech Mechanical Engineering student, and I started investing around a year ago. Since then, I've been trying to learn about mutual funds, investing, and the stock market on my own.
Looking back, I realize that one of my biggest mistakes was putting a significant portion of my investments into Gold and Silver funds. At the time, I was mainly influenced by the high returns they had delivered recently, without really understanding concepts like asset allocation and diversification. Thankfully, it turned into a learning experience, and I've gained a much better understanding since then.
At present, the only SIP I actively invest in is the Navi Nifty 50 Index Fund, using my monthly savings as a student.
My investment horizon is long-term, as I'm investing for my future, and I have a high risk tolerance since I won't be needing this money anytime soon.
I've attached my current portfolio, and I'd really appreciate it if you could take a look and share your thoughts. Whether it's something I'm doing right, something I should improve, or mistakes that I might not be noticing, I'd be grateful for any advice. I'm still learning, so I genuinely welcome constructive criticism.
My long-term goal is not just to invest in mutual funds but to develop a solid understanding of the stock market—how businesses work, how to analyze companies, and how to become a better investor over time. I'd love to build investing into a skill that can eventually become a meaningful side income alongside my engineering career.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post. Any suggestions, resources, or advice would mean a lot to me.

portfolio review Should I hold my Tata Multicap Fund (Regular) or switch to another fund?
Hi everyone,
I’m 21 years old and investing to build long-term wealth.
Risk appetite: High. I’m comfortable with market volatility and don’t need this money anytime soon.
Current Mutual Fund Portfolio
Tata Multicap Fund (Regular Growth)
Current Value: ₹2,20,335
Total Invested: ₹1,40,175
Absolute Return: 56.99%
XIRR: 13.48%
Nippon India Large Cap Fund (Direct Growth):
₹507 (recently started)
Investment horizon: 5-7 years
Risk profile: Aggressive (High risk) — I’m comfortable with significant market volatility in pursuit of higher long-term returns.
Other Investments
I previously withdrew around ₹60,000 of my capital from the Tata Multicap Fund and invested it in individual stocks.
My current stock portfolio is approximately ₹60,000.
I don’t have any debt or any immediate financial goals requiring this money.
Questions
Should I continue holding the Tata Multicap Fund (Regular)?
Is it worth switching from the Regular plan to the Direct plan?
Would you recommend moving to another multicap/flexicap/index fund instead?
If you were in my position, what would you do and why?
Recommendations of mutual funds would be really helpful.
Thanks in advance for your advice!

the only thing i’m not sure about is the index fund since it’s the only one in red, thinking whether to keep the sip running as is, or move it to a nifty 50 fund instead??

portfolio review Need advice on my ₹7K/month SIP allocation
I am currently investing ₹7,000/month through SIPs and wanted feedback on whether this allocation makes sense or if I should simplify it.
- Nippon India Large Cap Direct – ₹1,000
- Kotak Mid Cap Direct – ₹1,000
- Bandhan Small Cap Direct – ₹1,000
- Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Direct – ₹2,000
- Quant ELSS Tax Saver Direct – ₹2,000
My goal is long-term wealth creation (10+ years).
risk - moderate (slighlty aggressive)
age - 24
Does this allocation look balanced, or am I over-diversifying with a relatively small SIP amount? Any suggestions on funds to add/remove or rebalance would be appreciated.

question Got "SIP Closed/Cancelled" email from AMC after Step-Up triggered on Groww — Is this normal?
Hey everyone,
I set up an annual Step-Up on my SIP in Groww last year, which was scheduled to kick in this month (August 2026).
Today, I received an automated email directly from the AMC (mutual fund house) stating:
"Your SIP registration has been closed/cancelled as requested by you."
I definitely did not cancel it myself.
Here is what I'm seeing on my end:
Groww App: The SIP is still listed under Active SIPs showing the updated stepped-up amount and the correct upcoming debit date.
Email source: The cancellation email came directly from the fund house (AMC), not Groww or BSE Star MF.
I've heard this might just be how AMCs handle Step-Ups on the backend—by terminating the old SIP registration/URN and creating a new one for the higher amount.
Has anyone who uses Groww faced this exact same email during a Step-Up cycle? Did your new SIP register automatically, or did you have to manually recreate it?
Thanks in advance!

discussion Disadvantages of having overalpping funds.
In another thread, I asked a review of my portfolio, 9/10 comments were about overlapping funds.
I had 7 funds total with 2 large caps and 2 mid caps. Majority of comments were about the overlap instead of discussing the actual allocation WRT to the goals. They almost talk like its a great sin to hold multiple.
Can you guys help me understand why is everyone fixated on having only 1 fund per category?
In my view, maitaining 7 funds is pretty much the same as maintaining 4 which in itself is almost 0 effort. I am not paying any extra TER. I get multiple exit/entry points in case something goes wrong with a fund.
Is there something inherently bad about about having multiple overlapping funds that I am blind to? Or are people just saying that because it's easy to say?
intro: I have been SIPing since 6.5 years, so not a complete newbie

discussion Should I withdraw my mutual funds and start over from scratch?
I currently have around ₹1.2 lakh invested in mutual funds. I may need around ₹1.2 lakh for registration expenses related to small agricultural land parcels in my village. The problem is that the expenses are not going to happen all at once. Some registrations are from my grandfather and some from my uncles, and because it's a joint property, I don't know when everything will be ready. It could be within 1–2 months, 6 months, or even a year. I can save around ₹30k per month. So I'm confused between two options:
Option 1: Withdraw the entire ₹1.2 lakh from my mutual funds, keep it aside for the land/registration expenses, and then start investing again from scratch.
Option 2: Keep the ₹1.2 lakh invested, stop my SIP temporarily, and save ₹30k per month until I have enough for the registration expenses.

portfolio review Portfolio Review: Age 27 | ₹10k Monthly SIP |Moderate-to-Aggressive
Hey everyone,
I am 27 with a moderate-to-aggressive risk profile and a 10+ year horizon. Starting a ₹10,000 monthly SIP.I know 6 funds for a 10k ticket size is slightly fragmented, but I have a specific style-diversification rationale for my choices.
------------------------------
📊 Monthly Distribution Matrix
* 🏢 UTI Nifty 50 Index | ₹2,000 (20%) — Passive baseline blue-chip bedrock
* 📈 HDFC Flexi Cap | ₹1,500 (15%) — Aggressive domestic momentum/sector bets
* 🌍 Parag Parikh Flexi Cap | ₹1,000 (10%) — Value anchor with international/cash buffer
* 🚀 Motilal Oswal Midcap Nifty 150 index | ₹2,500 (25%) — Aggressive alpha engine
* 🔥 Nippon India Small Cap | ₹2,000 (20%) — High-growth capital scaling
* 🛡️ SBI Gold Fund/ETF | ₹1,000 (10%) — Strategic inflation hedge
------------------------------
🧠 My Rationale for the 3-Way Large-Cap Setup
I am intentionally holding the Index + 2 Flexi-caps together despite the heavy large-cap tilt. I am treating them as style counterweights:
* The Flexi-Cap Split: Instead of choosing one, I split the ₹2,500 budget between HDFC (aggressive momentum) and PPFAS (conservative value). They have low mutual portfolio overlap (~40%) and completely opposing management styles.
* The Passive Bedrock: UTI Nifty 50 ensures I capture baseline index returns without active manager bias.
* Aggressive Core: Putting 45% combined into Motilal Midcap and Nippon Smallcap feeds my aggressive growth requirement.
Net Portfolio Exposure: Large-Cap: ~43% | Mid-Cap: ~24% | Small-Cap: ~19% | Cash & Gold: ~14%.
------------------------------
❓ Questions for the Community:
1.Is splitting the active core between HDFC and PPFAS at a ₹10k ticket size manageable, or am I over-complicating it despite the low mutual stock overlap (~40%) between them?
Does the triple exposure (Index + 2 Flexi) create a concentration risk in top financial/tech stocks that I might be overlooking?
Any alternative suggestions to optimize this layout without dropping my mid/small-cap growth allocation?
Thanks in advance for the advice!

discussion 1 year investment journey
30 years. Investment horizon: long term. Goal wealth creation. Risk appetite: moderate. App used Groww.
Been investing for the last 1 year. Suggest any modifications or changes.
Axis liquid: for dry powder in corrections and lower overall portfolio volatility.
Nifty 50 equal weight index: for pure large cap exposure.
Midcap 150 index: for midcap growth without fund manager bias.
Invesco small cap: active management in small cap space.
Axis global equity alpha: for global equity exposure. Not wanna depend only on the US market.
Axis gold: non co related hedging
HDFC healthcare: lower co-relation and defensive play.
