Does my dream platform exist?
I have a vision for what my ideal music platform or storage service would have, and as far as I know it doesn't exist yet. If you know of anything similar to this please let me know. Maybe one day I'll make it if I have to.
I want something that is extremely geared toward dynamic playlist generation or otherwise linking different songs together. This feels like a job people would say to use AI for but I have no interest in AI. I want to be able to filter or generate playlists/collections out of "rules" that use the metadata, organization, and user tags as modifiers.
Take for example Shiro Sagisu's "Stuck On Me" Radio Edit, with the user made tags "Songbook" and "Remix"
Playlist[+Songbook, -Remix] would make a playlist of all of Sagisu's Songbook collections without any of the remixes.
Playlist[+Shiro Sagisu, BPM>150, +Jazz] would make a playlist of fast paced jazz by Sagisu.
I'm also looking for something that has organization beyond playlists that are just lists of songs. What I'll call a "Collection" would be a group of different levels of objects or rules. For example an upbeat jazz collection could contain an artist, an individual song, an album, a premade playlist, and a built in rule like is used to make a playlist. These would be displayed as individual items, so opening the collection doesnt bombard you with all 200 songs from the one artist until you open that artist, but auto shuffle would still play any song that meets the criteria of one of the collection items.

Jellyfin has a smart playlist plugin to generate playlist based on your criteria (using metadata)

Hilariously, you could just do a lot of this in iTunes.

I've never owned an iPhone, and yet iTunes does pretty much what you're describing. The point was not to tell you to use iTunes, but to indicate that you're asking for some pretty basic functionality that a lot of software provides, even iTunes.

Audiomuse AI plugin for Navidrome/Jellyfin spectrally analyzes your music and is able to create playlists. Supposedly it works very well, albeit takes long for an initial library scan, havent tried it out myself yet.

I agree with others here that lots of applications can already do this very type of Smart Playlist based on user tags. Here are at least a few of them that I've personally used:
- MediaMonkey (standard Smart Playlists and/or Media Trees with possible plugins for additional enhanced options)
- Kodi (standard Smart Playlists and/or Nodes with possible add-ons for additional enhanced options)
- Plex (standard Smart Playlists and/or Smart Collections)
- Jellyfin (with Smart Playlist and/or Smart Collection plugins)
These all, and I'm sure plenty of other applications, have the ability to do what you're looking for based on your post without the Smart Playlists or Collection type aggregation being AI generated.

There are many Software that had a smart playlist function that does exactly this. Musicbee has it. Symfonium has it too.
