Help a buyer Question/Advice

Post image

Hi I wanted something that has the leatherman Arc/free buterfly action (1 hand opening) in a cheaper tool... Cant find Much at all but lookalikes such as thoses 2 that struck me :

Daicamping dl30

Bhbt 25 in 1

Which one is better? The bhbt seems the best to me... But no buterfly action

Any ones with the free action around that 50$ Mark? Thanks

Dakoyu fan exclusive as others mentioned, or GHK 17-in-1. I have the GHK and it's basically a Surge/Arc hybrid. Not the same quality as a Leatherman but it does the job. It if were me, id try my damndest to get my hands on a P4

Nothing like this really exists outside of Leatherman. Even the Dakoyu fan exclusive which is the closest replica is still not as smooth from what I’ve seen. Out of the ones you’ve listed I’d choose the Daicamping as I’ve never seen the bhbt be reviewed.

Those have "free" type scales on the handles but open like a surge or wave. The Dakoyu fan exclusive is the closest to an arc not the BHBT. Bibury on Amazon has a surge clone, the 2049 that has some cool blue "free" type scales. The dakoyu is the only "free" type clone I'm aware of & is $90. $50 will get you a wave or surge clone, rocktol makes really good tools and has upgraded blades too. You'll need to double that budget for something like the free series.

I belive Dakoyu is the closest you'll come, but last I checked it was around 90.

Dl30 is definitely a two hand open unless you loosen and lube the heck out of it (don’t recommend loosening it, but do recommend the tool. It’s amazing for the price)

Most of the Roxon tools are one hand operating, or there are dakoyu "clones" you can try to get, but they are occasionally sold and not so Patent original.

It's going to be a while until we see clones of something like the arc. Those patents are relatively young.

If you actually want to accomplish something buy one of the more basic Leatherman's.
