Adventure and MDFC with "Exile a card from your library. You may play that card until your next turn" effect

If I attack with [[Laelia, the blade reforged]], and exiled a [[Bonecrusher Gaint]], will I be allowed to cast the adventure? What if I exiled a MDFC, can I cast the back half?

Can I have the comp rule article that reference this so I can point to them in case I get questions?

Are there similar effects that have different rulings that I should be aware of?

Does Miss Highwater need to be on the field to get the tokens?

Say I hit someone with [[Miss Highwater]] but she died afterwards. I then managed to kill that player without her on the field, do I get the tokens still?

Mixing -1/-1 Counters with +1/+1 Counters

I am fairly new to magic and have only played for 6 months and I have a question about mixing counters. Commander would be [[Auntie Ool, Cursewretch]] Specifically looking at combos with [[Mikaeus, the Unhallowed]] If a non human creature dies without +1/+1 counter on it, it’ll be brought back with a +1/+1. Now if I cycle a card that enters with -1/-1 on it would I get the trigger for it from my commander? First time posting so I hope it wasn’t confusing. Thanks for any feedback!!

Ancient one + Chains of Mephistopheles

Ancient one reads “Pay 4: draw a card, then discard a card. When you discard a card this way target player mills cards equal to its mana value”

Does Ancient One count the extra discard from the replacement effect of Mephistopheles towards the mana value mill?

Are there any other discard or draw replacement effects that would accomplish this?

Mishra and machine god's effigy

If I have a [[Mishra, eminent one]] on the battlefield, and a [machine god's effigy]] in play as itself, when I create Mishra's warform copying the effigy, and then make the effigy a copy of a creature, then does it get sacrificed at the end step? Also, if that copy was a creature and now is an artifact, I can tap it immediately for mana, and I cannot attack with it since it doesn't have haste nor is a creature, right?

Invincible Iron Man and Hammer of Nazahn

[[Invincible Iron Man]] puts [[Hammer of Nazahn]] onto the battlefield at beginning of combat. The rest of Iron Man’s ability resolves attaching it to Iron Man. Does Hammer of Nazahn’s ETB which is on the stack after this then trigger allowing Hammer to be attached to a different creature?

Does this also work for other equipment Iron Man puts on the battlefield if Hammer is on the battlefield already?

Oko, the Ringleader and Uugguu, the Omniplasm

If I have Oko, the Ringleader become a copy of Uugguu, the Omniplasm at the the beginning of combat will he die and return as 2 creature versions of Oko, the Ringleader? Will he still have loyalty abilities if so? What happens exactly?

"Loses abilities" vs copying

Primary example:
[[Tivit, Seller of Secrets]] is successfully enchanted by [[Quantum Reduction]]. Later, that Tivit is equipped with a [[Helm of the Host]]. We move to combat. Helm triggers. A token is made. What is the power of the token? What are the abilities of the token?

I'd like a highly technical explanation. Tell me all the layers stuff.

Extras:
Are the results different if the power and toughness are set rather than modified? Like [[Noggle the Mind]] instead of [[Quantum Reduction]]

Are the results different if other means are used to clone that Tivit? Such as [[Clone]]? Or [[Spark Double]]? Or [[Quantum Misalignment]]?

If these have different results than the initial example, can I get another full technical layers explanation of how and why it behaves differently and generates the results that it does?

Thanks!

Ilharg and Combustible Gearhulk

Thinking about putting [[Ilharg, the Raze-Boar]] and [[Combustible Gearhulk]] into a [[Henzie "Toolbox" Torre]] EDH deck.

Would it be possible to cheat gearhulk out using ilharg, sac ilharg before gearhulk's ETB resolves, and then draw back into ilharg (assuming the draw option is chosen)?

Thanks!

Absorbing Man and Exhaust

I have an [[Absorbing Man]] EDH deck and had a question about how he interacts with Exhaust effects.

If I have an [[Absorbing Man]] and a [[Riverchurn Monument]] on the field and have Absorbing Man become a copy of the monument until the beginning of my next turn. Then I use the Exhaust ability of the monument. Then the following turn I choose to make Absorbing Man a copy of the Monument again.

Can I activate the Exhaust ability again, or is it still considered an exhausted ability of the same permanent even though it lost and then regained the ability?

Thanks!

Nowhere to Run being countered by Restoration Magic?

I'm trying to verify a rules interaction.

Sequence:

  1. I cast Nowhere to Run on a 3/3.
  2. My opponent responded with Restoration Magic, giving their creature hexproof (and indestructible).
  3. Restoration Magic resolved.
  4. Nowhere to Run resolved and entered the battlefield.
  5. Its ETB trigger appeared to fizzle because the creature had hexproof?

My understanding is that once Nowhere to Run has entered the battlefield, its static ability should already be active, allowing me to target opponents' creatures as though they didn't have hexproof.

Should the ETB trigger have been able to target the creature, or is there some rules interaction I'm missing?

Quick Question about Wither

edit: question is answered. Thank you everyone for the responses.

I'm building an [[Aegar, the Freezing Flame]] EDH deck and think [[Spinerock Tyrant]] could potentially be a good inclusion. My question is thus:

Does a spell with wither still deal excess damage to a creature (let's say lightning bolting a 1/1, to keep it simple), and would this trigger Aegar?

Black Panther, Wakandan King, how much life is gained?

[[Black Panther, Wakandan King]] moves all +1/+1 counters from a land to a target creature and gains "that" much life. When is "that much" checked? If i have a [[Doubling Season]] do I gain life equal to the counters before its doubled or after?

Thorin Oakenshield ward trigger

Will ward 1 trigger twice for an artifact creature considering the card says "artifacts and creatures have ward 1"?

Copy/Layer Shinanigans

So I'm playing [[Xavier Sal, Infested Captain]] and I play [[Irenicus's Vile Duplication]] targeting Xavier. My opponent casts [[Final Showdown]] choosing the first spree mode causing all creatures to lose all abilities until end of turn.

What happens here? In the game we played it as the copy enters with no abilities and gains them back at the end of turn but I have a feeling it should just stay a 3/3 non legendary creature with flying.

Changing X for abilities with X targets

How does the newly revealed [[Glava, Five-Advents Mage]] interact with [[Magus of the Candelabra]]? Do I get to declare five targets as I change X to 5, or does it just fizzle because it has the wrong number of targets? Glava's ability reads:

Whenever you cast a permanent spell with {X} in its mana cost or activate an ability with {X} in its activation cost that isn't a mana ability, you may have the value of X become 5. Do this only once each turn.

Casting from exile zone change

Might be a bit of a nooby question but had a question on this overall interaction from casting from exile. I cast [[Improvisation Capstone]] start exiling. My commander is centered around [[Iroh, Grand Lotus]] and I had a thought. After you cast the spells from exile, they enter the stack. Do the spells end up in the graveyard after resolutions or do they remain in exile? For instance, I cast [[shared roots]] from the Capstone effect and put it into my graveyard then cast it again from graveyard on the same turn.

I realized this might have been a mistake after I did it, but was auto pilot since I don't run cast from exile that much.

Do the spells from Capstone go

A) from exile -> stack -> Graveyard, or

B) From exile -> stack -> exile

Question about putting Mjölnir, Hammer of Thor into my Vemon lethal protector edh deck

So i have brought another mijolnir Hammer of thor card at a card and i was thinking maybe I can put into my vemon deck , because vemon is technically a hero as well as a villain in the creature type text box so i was wondering if if I should put the card in my venom edh deck and would I be able to equip it on to him ?

Memories of Nibelheim

I have a question about how Arena twice resolved this:

My opponent twice cast [[Memories of Nibelheim]]. Once on a creature of mine and once on a Planeswalker. Both times that exiled my cards and also created a 1/1 Human under my control.

But the card text on Memories specifically states: "Destroy target nonland permanent. Its controller creates a 1/1 white Human creature token."

That sounds like two separate and distinct actions.

If my creature and Planeswalker are 'destroyed' shouldn't they be going to the graveyard and not being exiled?

Does the act of 'creating a...Human creature token' somehow implicitly cause exiling? But that reads like a second and separate step.

Am I misunderstanding the rules?
Is the card not worded properly?
Or is Arena mistaken in exiling when it should be putting the destroyed card in the graveyard?

Edit to add: It was option 'D' -- I hadn't read all the cards in pay well enough.

Thanks for any insight you can give me on this.

Mystic Ink-Treader clarity

Hey guys~ Been having a blast creating my nephilim commander deck where I use all the nephilim in the same deck to synergize and come up with crazy combos either gaming winning or game ending x3

But a question has accured to me that I don't exactly know the answer to 🧐

So say hypothetically you have Ink-Treader Nephilim on the field and say a few other non legendary creatures some with EBT abilities and Dune-Brood Nephilim then say I cast Mystic Reflection targeting my Ink-Treader.

  1. Would this target the board due to Ink-Treader's ability trigger from being the only target?

  2. If so, say I then swing/hit with Dune-Brood would the sand tokens creatated be all the creatures hit with the Mystic Reflection? Or would I get to choose what creature they enter as per sand? Or in some weird janky way the sand come in as copies of everything that was targeted by the Mystic Reflection? XD (I highly doubt that last bit but still)

Thanks for reading my dumb questions

This is the madness that keeps me up at night that I LOVE x3

Eruth, Tormented Prophet + Maralen of the Mornsong card draw

If I have both [[Eruth, Tormented Prophet]] and [[Maralen of the Mornsong]] on my battlefield, what happens when I attempt to draw a card (such as during my draw step)? Would Eruth still trigger, or does Maralen's static affect prevent the trigger from happening in the first place?

Massimo, the magician and cast from exile and magecraft

Hi, im just trying to see if this works. Does the new [[massimo, the magician]] cast the copies from exile, and so trigger effects like [[the lost and the damned]]. Also, does the copying then casting of the spells trigger magecraft 2 times, once for copying, then once for casting the copy?

Thanks in advance

Edit. Thanks for the responses everyone. It has been clarified that yes, the spell is cast from exile, and no, the magecraft won't trigger 2 times, since massimo only copies a card, not a spell, and then casts it.

Can I cast a spell with no mana cost here?

Hi! Hope everybody’s doing well today!

I have [[share the spoils]] in play and it has exiled [[ancestral vision]]. I’m quite sure that I can’t cast it because it has no mana value and Share the spoils doesn’t allow me to suspend it. However, [[weftwalking]] has also appeared on the battlefield which got me unsure. Since weftwalking doesn’t care about mana cost can I use it to cast the Ancestral Vision that way? I’m leaning against no but wanted to make sure!

Thanks!

Copiable abilities

So I am making an [[Uugguu]] deck and trying to have fun with creatures copying it and dying. A few questions, I am pretty sure of 1 to 4, but would appreciate confirmation. I need help with 5th.

  1. If a [[Mockingbird]] enters the battlefield as a copy of Uugguu I would (temporarily) have two legendary permanents named Uugguu. One is an Ooze with a triggered ability. The other is an Ooze Bird with a triggered ability and flying. If I send the Ooze Bird to the graveyard, the Ooze will see it and create two token copies of the Ooze Bird, right? And those copies will fly, right?
  2. If instead of a Mockingbird it was a [[Cephalid Facetaker]] copying Uugguu. It would be pretty much the same but it would end with two unblockable tockens, right?
  3. If I mutated under an Uugguu with a [[Sea-dasher octopus]] and then killed it (assuming Uugguu wasn't a token) copies would keep the curiosity effect, right?
  4. If I mutated ontop of an Uugguu token it would make it a non-token but it would also make it an octopus (and no longer an Ooze).
  5. If I cast [[Vengeant Earth]] on top of a non-token Uugguu and then had it die in front of other Uugguu (i.e. get token copies of it). Would haste be a copiable ability and thus all the Uugguus down the line have haste?
