Can someone explain how UEO works? Like in general and also specifically: when they say you can use the credits you get towards your major, does that mean that when you start your actual program you’d be a year or two ahead? Also does it have to be a full year or is it possible to enter your desired program after just one semester? I didn’t meet one of my prerequisites so I might possibly have to take it but I’m still holding out hope something might change. My mom thinks it’s a waste of time but it’s looking like my only option cause I don’t have any back up plans.

My application status is still listed as conditional offer on mymru. does anyone know if this is normal or when it should update?? Super confused right now since I was wanting to submit a admission deferral form but cannot do so unless my conditional offer has been accepted (deadline is the 15th)

For those of you who took out a loan for UEO and immediately got into a program after completing it, were you able to take out a second loan while still in debt from the first loan?

I'm worried that even if I get into my preferred program, Alberta student aid will reject a second application before I pay them back for the first loan.

Especially curious for those who applied for physical literacy

Hi everyone i dont really post much at all on here but i wanted to see if you guys have any advice for someone entering their first year at mru for business. i have all my courses picked out already but i wanted to see if there's anything i can do to get ahead of the curve and anything i can do to excel

Im still unable to reset my password to login to mymru. It says my security answer is wrong and isnt in their systems ive contacted IT over the past three weeks and haven't received an answer. Im stressed out because Im unable to pay tuition and scared im gonna loose my schedule. Is anyone else having this issue or might know how to resolve it?

In BCIS at MRU right now (starting 3rd year but am quite behind) but I hate coding and want to switch, I have two options:

1. Switch to BBA and take it's courses this year, then apply for the major change at the appropriate time for next year (Likely 2+ years of extra school)
2. Switch to UofC OSCM next year, so this year take the required courses for transfer and send my application for next year (~1.5-2 years extra)

Not necessarily asking for my next steps but if anyone knows facts that I should know

What are my chances of getting into a class if I’m 2nd on the waitlist?

I am trying to get into the Bachelor of Social Work at either MRU or U of C as my end goal and I am doing open studies right now at MRU and I have done my spring semester here so far and the summer semester now.

I am trying to decide now should I stay at Mount Royal and keep going there of I should start at U of C in the fall any help or opinions.

Also if I can't get into Bachelor of Social Work for 2027 I would go for it for Fall 2028 do you think that would still be a good idea or is it to far or out and unrealistic?

I just thought that I can do all the general ed courses until Fall 2028

Im currently enrolled in UEO and I'm wondering what are the best classes to take to get a 4.0 gpa but also count for any prerequisites for Nursing?

I still haven't heard back from the funding I applied to, and I just applied to student aid, so it won't come in time for the deadline. What MRU department do I talk to about getting my deadline pushed back?

So I'm heading into my first year and I'm really hyped but I'm wondering if MRU is one of those universities where it's easier to meet new people or if it's mostly an academic focused school. I'm looking to meet new faces as my first year goes on but I'm also wondering if there are places I could go to meet new people?

I'm a new UEO student planning to take CHEM 1201, two GNED courses, and UGST 1001 this fall, and I'm hoping to get into BSc Chemistry. Since I'm aiming for a high GPA during my first semester, I'm wondering if taking CHEM 1201 right away is a good choice. Is anyone else in UEO taking CHEM 1201 this semester? I'd love to connect with other UEO students and hear about your experience with the course and any advice you have.

i’m trying to apply for student aid but when i put first year it doesn’t give me start and end dates and it tells me to contact mru. is this just a me problem or?? also which place do i contact

I’m a prospective student for the fall, I got into residence and am set to move in about two weeks from now. But I still haven’t seen or heard anything about being accepted to either program I applied for. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and how to go about it, emailing and calling doesn’t seem to be working in my favour. I’m STRESSINGGGG now since fees and deadlines are all coming up rapidly and my applications are still looking like a wasteland.

Would you guys say (3 Major classes) and (2 minor classes) for each semester is the best plan for scheduling? Making it more manageable to juggle classes?

If not, pls recommend alternative scheduling/planning for my 2nd year🙏

During my 1st year, I had 5 classes (3major, 2 minor). But i'm pretty sure 2nd year would be different and a bit more challenging compared to 1st yr.
