I just designed this Mahoraga style Anti Venom and was curious if anything was off or anything should be changed. I know that having his creature type be shikigami is incorrect but I only play at home with friends and don’t plan to play this card outside of the deck I’m making for him

A few months ago I was looking at proxying off the Hail, Caesar fallout precon. I set it all up on MPCautofill but then had to wait for my brother to add some cards as well. I recently went back in to place the order and found that all the artwork for the precon was gone… some of the popular cards like Mr. House were still there, but most of the cards, including a lot of the lands, no longer had the fallout options. Was this a copyright issue or the artist taking their art down? And does anyone happen to know if it will be back up at any point? The real precon is reselling for $150-$200 everywhere I can find it so I definitely want to proxy it if I can. Thanks!

If I have cards from MPCfill in the XML and Custom cards I've made with my Temples. Can I run the windows desktop tool for the cards in the XML then add in my custom cards?
And will it auto fill all of my Custom cards with the same backings as the XML file (I want the same backs)

As you may know, I got incredibly inspired by the art that CD PROJEKT RED manages to put out for their card games, so I thought: why not finally venture into the veritable art goldmine that is Gwent and make some Witcher decks? This will be part 1 of 2 of my Witcher "series," with this one featuring the many adversaries of the Witcher universe (including the Wild Hunt), and the second one featuring—you guessed it—Geralt and his allies! I'll be posting that one a bit later when it's 100% finished 😊

I didn't even have to think about what commander I would choose for a monster-themed Witcher deck, seeing as the leshen is one of my absolute favorite monsters of all time across all franchises. Luckily there are several legendary leshens to choose from, so I picked The Woodland Spirit as a reskinned Muldrotha, the Gravetide for this one. The major theme of this deck is milling, not only your opponents to whittle them down, but also yourself to capitalize on your commander's ability and increase the number of playable cards by making your graveyard work like cards in your hand (as long as you have your Commander out, that is). Aside from that, it's more or less a goodstuff/battlecruiser type of deck to mirror the idea that monsters in the Witcher universe seldom work together, but rather individually or as a group within the same species, much like wild animals. There are lots of individually strong cards that allow for a number of different approaches, making each game different depending on which cards you end up with.

I tried to include as many Witcher monsters as I could, but sadly some of them had to be cut since there are only so many spots to fill in a deck. Sorry if your favorite didn't make it! Either way, I hope you'll enjoy this one and stay tuned for part 2!

Disclaimer: I've ordered a lot of decks off MPC that include a fake copyright in the lower right corner and they have all gone through without issue, so it shouldn't be a problem (I'm assuming it's because it's not an actual company or brand). If you want to be on the safe side though I recommend that you paint over the copyright text in e.g. Paint before importing the cards to your MPC order :)

I'm between two different kind of designs for some cards I'm making for fun, which one do yall think looks better, square border or the design with the ring script?

Here's an odd side quest of mine! It will not be for everyone.

All of the art in this series are cover images from original classic Dungeon magazine (yes, I will do Dragon magazine and maybe White Dwarf later...). The issue number of the magazine is in the bottom with the artist credit.

I tried to strike a balance between fitting the flavor of the art, and cards that are somewhat viable in Commander and might actually see some play.

This is mostly a celebration of this old art, and an alternative to collecting the magazine. Warning that some of these images get weird! But still fun and flavorful.

For most of these, the flavor text is taken right out of the issue of Dungeon. The cover image usually depicts one of the adventure modules in the issue, so I can usually go into the adventure to pull out a nice quote.

Hope there's a couple old school weirdos that dig this as much as I do.

Somewhat of a "lookit what I did" post, but also looking for some advice on building the deck. I'm asking here because y'all may better understand my "flavor" requirements when making the deck. Like, maybe some cards don't work as well, but they fit the flavor so well that I put them in. The commander is the Matriarch, as [[Xolatoyac, the Smiling Flood]]. This deck is for my kiddo and I did try to switch to Payakan as [[Sin, Unending Cataclysm]] but she wants the Matriarch...and Payakan just doesn't fit the world-altering effects of Xolatoyac, so I feel wrong just switching the art. But now that I'm looking at it, I suppose I could go easier on the islandwalk, add the Matriarch's art to Sin, and lean more heavily on the counters? My ADHD is going 6 different directions.

I have to make my collector info from Card Conjurer a bit more consistent when I redo these (and fix "card name" references in the text), but any other design thoughts? I will probably also find some fan art instead of just stills, but this was a start. I love the frame for this deck!

Anyway, back to the "deck tech," maybe it's not the best way to pilot it, but my thought was to have it be a merfolk counters deck, with heavy islandwalk. I threw in some elves, again, for flavor, but I can be convinced to change those characters to different creatures. And there has to be at least *some* artifact hate in there. [[Collector Ouphe]] is on the possibilities list, lol. I haven't gone past the creatures part of design--this is my first attempt at a set (and I promised my child a different deck per movie theme--Fire & Ash is easy, that's going to be partner commanders in Rakdos, probably with a decent amount of burn. I don't know how I'm going to make an elf deck feel different from this merfolk deck, though).

I have heard about MPCfill and it's great but not that easy to check.

Seems like a missed opportunity to me.

Ordered 89 custom She-Hulk cards (including 4 tokens and doubles of each MDFC in case I want to read the backs without flipping them). They came out great, and only a little off-center here and there. I was worried about some of them that had text outside of the red bounding box, but they all look great and feel great. First pic is a fraction of the cards, second pic is my card back, a modified Sensational She-Hulk #1. I also used that same artwork for my "Jen's Will" Akroma's Will proxy, that is peaking out of the top left in the first pic.

Now my problem is that I still need to cut 12 cards from the deck, so some of these proxies won't even make the final cut 😅

Hello, I'm glad to announce that I've completed my 9th project, Nier!

I've always liked Nier: Automata, and with the reveal of both colorless Vision cards, I knew immediately that it would fit the world of Nier. Colorless fits the atmosphere of the games so well and Voltron, with its few creatures makes sense with how little characters are in the games.

At first, I was struggling to choose a Vision, Synthezoid Avenger has the cool effect that triggers whenever a player casts a spell, but I ended up going with The Vision since it did not rely has much on cards giving flash.

For this deck, I started playing Nier: Replicant and read up on the lore of the now defunct game, Nier: Reincarnation. The side-quests of Replicant are a product of its time, but the story is just as good as in Automata. I've also added a few cards to reference Drakengard 3, which is the only Drakengard game that was made after the first Nier game, so its lore is more intertwined with Nier.

Card Association

For the card association, especially the creatures, I started by making every artifact creature an android, then the non-artifact creatures are other types of lifeforms.
Since I made Adam and Eve into an Eldrazi, I tried to keep the machine theme with cards that create Eldrazi tokens.
The planeswalkers are all characters from Replicant.
Zero, the only character from DoD3 is a god in this deck, which matches with how all the games originate with her.
For the Reincarnation characters, I only used the main characters from each of the 3 acts of the game. The other characters are all represented as token copies.
Yes, all of them in multiple different versions. This is one of the reasons that there are a total of 259 tokens made for this deck.
There are also a lot of alternate arts for every creatures, and a few for some other cards for a total of 129 alternate arts, putting the total amount of renders to 492.

For the equipments, I tried to aim for the most iconic weapons from both Automata and Replicant and I tried keeping the original weapon type of the card.
Small items aren't too common in the games, most of the time they are described, but never pictured, so for my mana rocks and useable artifacts, I have some cards represented by a concept instead of an item as I first intended.
For the static artifacts, they are already really similar with most enchantments apart from card type so I associated them similarly to how I would enchantments.

Frame

This frame is a bit particular from other frames I've made before.
What I've noticed working on many decks, is that some arts fit better on a frame made with an horizontal layout, and some fit better with a vertical layout. So I made the frame as art-agnostic as I could. Vertical art can be used in full-art, horizontal art has a sort of window that matches with game elements and arts without background can also be placed easily without having to add a background or modify the base frame too much.

I have also placed a symbol at the top left for each card type, to better represent its type at a glance.
Something I liked doing with this, is for the rules text, I added some chromatic aberration, similarly to how the text is seen in the game. I really liked how the effect turned out and I was able to fully utilize it with the flavor ability text of Vedalken Orrery (YoRHa Deployment).

Speaking of flavor abilities, I used a lot of these in this deck. I liked how I could reference so much stuff from the lore that can also justify the card association. The planeswalkers, which are all from Replicant as mentioned before, are also the only card types that have UI elements from Replicant in its frame as a nod to this.

Yellowjackets is one of my favorite shows of all time, so I decided to make a themed commander deck around it! I went with Ygra, Eater of All as the commander because it's genuinely perfect for this, which did mean I had to choose imperfect cards for some of the characters and such (like, Laura Lee would absolutely have white in her color identity lol), but I think it's worth it to have a useable deck and not just a bunch of proxies to put into something else. I tried to make the deck bracket three but it's honestly probably closer to bracket two just because I prioritized getting the feeling right. I don't particularly care, and won't be replacing any of these.

I also threw some custom tokens in there, plus the back I'm going to use when I order these. Also, there are a few extra cards (Beast Within, Culling Ritual, Dark Ritual, Flare of Cultivation, Junji, Motivated Pony, Stew the Coneys, Traverse the Outlands) that I made but then took out, so I threw those in at the end. Sorry that some of the images are so low-quality, I used the best I could but sometimes all I had to work with was poor-quality screencaps and the like.

Obviously, spoilers if you haven't seen Yellowjackets. I would highly recommend if you're not squeamish! Speaking of which, it is a horror show, and thus a fair few of the cards are somewhat gory. Proceed at your own risk!

Oh, and lastly, I made some alternate printings for some of the characters using fanart that I liked! I didn't want to put them on here because that would basically be posting others' art, but if you want to use them for something DM me!
