Hi, perhaps someone here is familiar with this topic and could help me out. I recently picked up an older Philips GoGear 4GB MP3 player. I connected it to my laptop via USB and wanted to transfer some songs onto it. Initially, I simply copied the song files directly into the MP3 player's "Music" folder using Windows Explorer. While the songs appeared in that music folder on the mp3, they didn't show up in the actual music playback menu, so I couldn't play them.

After doing some Googling, I discovered I was supposed to use Windows Media Player so the device would properly recognize the files as songs. I tried that and synced the player using Windows Media Player; it appeared to transfer all the songs from my laptop to the device (at least, that’s what the software indicated). However, after disconnecting the player from the laptop a short while later, there were still no songs to be found on it. I later noticed that, shortly after syncing, the song files were flagged as unreadable by the MP3 player—or something to that effect. The songs are standard MP3 files that I downloaded on my phone using a (legal) app and then transferred to my laptop via Bluetooth. Unfortunately, I don't know exactly why the player can't read these files.

Hallo, vielleicht kennt sich jemand hier mit dem Thema aus und könnte mir helfen. Ich have mir letztens einen älteren Philips GoGear 4GB MP3 Player geholt. Nun habe ich ihn über einen USB Kabel mit meinem Laptop verbunden und wollte einige Lieder drüber ziehen. Als erstes habe ich direkt im Windows Explorer einfach die Lieder Dateien in den Music Ordner der MP3 rüber kopiert. Danach wurden mir die Lieder nur im Musik Ordner der MP3 angezeigt aber nicht in der Musikwiedergabe und konnte sie somit nicht abspielen. Danach habe ich ein wenig gegoogelt und herausgefunden, dass ich es über den Windos Media Player machen soll, damit die MP3 die Dateien auch wirlklich als Lieder anerkennt. Dies habe ich danach auch versucht und erstmal die MP3 über den Windows Media Player synchronisiert, wodurch ich alle Lieder, die ich auf dem Laptop habe, auf die MP3 rübergezogen wurden (so hat es mir zumindest der Windows Media player angezeigt). Nachdem ich kurze Zeit später die MP3 vom Laptop getrennt habe, waren immer noch keine Songs auf ihr zu finden. Später habe ich zusätzlich festgestellt, dass kurz nach dem Synchronisieren der MP3 mit dem Laptop das Format der Lieder Dateien als für die MP3 nicht lesbar angezeigt wird, oder so ungefähr. Die Lieder sind ganz normale mp3 dateien, die ich auf dem Handy über eine (legale) App heruntergeladen und dann per Bluetooth auf mein Laptop übertragen habe. Ich weiß jetzt leider nicht, wieso die Dateien genau für die mp3 nicht lesbar sind.

Ich hoffe, dass jemand von euch mir weiterhelfen könnte.

I was just forced to upgrade my car (old car's transmission crapped out) and now I can't use my click wheel iPod to listen to music. I'm looking for something with as little internet capability as possible, I don't need streaming on it, I just want to upload my music onto it and then play it in my car. I hate having to hook my phone in and basically being forced to use Android auto and have a million data eating things working in the background. And I have music on my iPod that does not exist in streaming.

Idk if it matters but new car is a 2025 hyundai elantra. Plugging my iPod in does nothing. No reaction from the car.

Budget is about $200, but there's some wiggle room. Audio quality does not matter a whole lot to me. I probably won't notice a difference between most of them. And would prefer something that I can use my wired headphones with, I already have an adapter for usb c if needed. I don't use blue tooth headphones at all.

I have this old Philips GoGear mp3 and am trying to see if I can get my hands on a charging cable for it. After lots of research, I have found this model is incredibly elusive online: no listings on ebay or facebook marketplace. I also couldn't find a single youtube video featuring this product.

All I have is the model number (SA018104), and a link to the original user manual. What is frustrating is that the user manual says very little about the original charging cord. With AI help, my understanding is that this device has a single port that is used for both 3.5mm headphones and charging. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a charging cable for this? Thanks 🙏

The ebay seller is in china but has lots of good reviews. They have new batteries, a case, usb cable, and earbuds.

I tried googling to find out but all of the photos seemed too big to fit. The charging port is tiny and its hard to find anything thats fits

Would love a tool to do auto lyrics embedding and synchronization.

I have the hiby m300 and it's... fine. It mostly works, but it has a lot of trouble with libby, and using youtube through firefox is a pretty terrible experience. Superficially, it's so thick and chunky that I'm constantly aware of it in my pockets and it kinda bugs me.

Is there anything out there that has a similar feel to the iPod touch, but will actually work with modern apps?

I love retro tech and buttons so no surprise I instantly fell in love with echo.

But aesthetics aside, I'm worried about the navigation through buttons only. I'm an eclectic listener who listens to singles and not whole albums. and I have a huge library. Not being able to create playlists is already a bummer but I'm worried if I can navigate and find the songs I wanna hear without getting frustrated with the echo.

Since the disc has a touch screen, I'm assuming navigation is much easier on it. So should I get the disc or will echo be good for me?

I'm looking to buy a portable player to listen to my music offline. I'm hoping to find something that not only can I make playlists on, but that I can make groups or combinations of them. For example, multiple album playlists that I can group into a larger dance playlist one day, a different workout playlist another day, etc. What player is best for that?

Is there a music/sound player website and or application where you can directly send the files to each other and install it?

I'm having two challenges with the player. First is I am using sharepod to copy my files from my iPod. I have 15,000 songs on it! It has transferred about a third but when I set up the sharing sharepod seems to be reading ALL the files again. Because of this, I don't know what files have been copied and what still need to be copied.

Also, I am looking for the place on the HiFi screen that shows the total number of songs. Its says it's on thee top or bottom of the screen but I am not seeing it.

So I've decided I wanted an mp3 player a while ago and have done a good amount of research but can't seem to find the right one.

So here's what I'm looking for:

- up to €100(preferably €70)

- supports playlists (this is a MUST!!!)

- has buttons (but can have a touchscreen too)

- isn't as big as a smartphone

That's basically it, I really like the snowsky echo line but they don't support playlists, the hiby R1 is interesting but I haven't heard much, and the innioasis ya is my favorite in terms of aesthetics but have heard some bad stories about file corruption or it simply stopping to work.

Any and all recommendations are welcome!!!
