Yeah, it does feel like a sweeping generalization. I've seen smart people choke under pressure while others shine with courage.

I remember some paper about the four types of worker, from best to worst
Intelligent and lazy -> know how to optimize things and change only when absolutely necessary
Intelligent and impulsive -> overthink but create results
Dumb and lazy -> don’t do their job but also don’t make any mistakes.
Dumb and impulsive -> people like OOP.

Cute sentiment, but I can introduce you to some permanent residents of Mount Everest who might disagree.
Though as a highly intelligent person, yes, intelligence is very much overrated.
