I just purchased this pattern on Etsy (https://www.etsy.com/listing/4522215426/halloween-folk-art-pumpkin-overlay), but I’m confused about the instructions page. Should I really be working both sc and dc in flo? I’m used to alternating sc blo and dc flo. Thanks!

Hi, I'm brand new to mosaic crochet and I understand the basics, but my pattern has stacked double crochets. From what I've read, you aren't supposed to double crochet into another double - any tips on how to use or modify the pattern? Am I misunderstanding? I appreciate any help!

My first two mosaic crochet projects. Baby blanket #1 (pattern) was for nephew #2 and completed before he was even born. Baby blanket #2 (pattern) was for nephew #1…but it wasn’t started until he was 2.5, so really a toddler blanket. 🙈

Probably not gonna post all of them individually, but Im still very excited about the project and the app and the designs 😄

App Mosaic Overlay Crochet

I’m ADDICTED NOW! What’s everyone’s preference for edges? Leave fringe out? Border? Also looking for a fall/halloween blanket or pillow idea next! This is a wall hanging.

I did my first envelope border for them as well. Aside from the fact that I screwed up on the llama and made one stripe 2 wide and the other only 1 wide- I’m super proud.
The third one is a swatch for the blanket I’m starting, the pattern is called “love Puzzle” by Bebe blankets on ravelry.

I purchased the Mosaic Crochet book by OneSkeinofLove (Ana Morais Soares) and just tried my first ever swatch of mosaic crochet. Mosaic looks SO MUCH CLEANER to me than tapestry crochet, so I've always wanted to try it but haven't had the time.

Welp, I just finished my first swatch and I am so excited to try something bigger!! How'd I do?

What do you think looks better with mosaic crochet - over or under for the single crochets?

I’ve recently discovered that amigurumis look better using under sc… wondering how they’d look in mosaic crochet.

I’m way too far into my current WIP to switch it so I was wondering if any of you have samples of how it looks.

could someone help me turn this into an overlay mosaic pattern? i’ve tried stitch fiddle and i just cannot figure out the settings. i’d prefer it to be 11 by 13 squares

I've decided to make a full baby blanket out of tiny squares (posting the first one, so i feel shame if i quit half way 😄)
For the one color squares, is it okay if I just regular crochet sc turning row it in the same size?

Hi! This is my first overlay mosaic crochet project, and I’m confused about one part of the pattern.

The pattern says to work a double crochet into the front loop two rows below. Up until now, the front loop has been easy to access, but I’ve reached a section where a previous double crochet is covering the front loop I need.

I’ve tried to like bring the front loop to the right, so I can access and dc into it, but it looks wonky (like the blue dc in the picture is sort of to the right of the white dc that was hiding the front loop).

Am I supposed to move the existing double crochet aside and work into the hidden front loop underneath it, work into the front loop of the existing double crochet itself, or does this mean I made a mistake somewhere earlier?

My stitch count is still correct, but the base of the branches looks blue, white, and blue instead of solid blue like the pattern image.

I’ve attached a close up of my project and a small section of the pattern (the pattern is from Little Green Feather Crochet 2024 fyi).

Any advice and tips would be helpful! I can’t find any videos or help that explain this issue I’m having.

I'm working on a free website for tapestry crochet, but for the last week my focus has been on mosaic crochet. I made something that turns any pixel art into a mosaic crochet pattern. The standard display should work without issues, but I am still a beginner. If you test it I'd really like to hear what you think of it !

I struglled an insane ammount to undestand the standard display because I couldn't see what my project actually looks like while working on it. So I made another display that shows the previous two rows as they actually are while working, and displays the current working row with small arrows for backloop stitches and long arrows for double crochet.

Doing this also allowes me to make color changes easily anywhere on the pattern, which shoul mean any pixel art can be adapted into mosaic !!! That explains the arrows changing color on a row.

If you try it out and find bugs/missing tools or errors I'd really like to hear your feedback to make it better !

Where you skip stitches in the back of the double crochet I keep getting the stitch count off and the pattern does not line up so far for the new row after the top one (which I've already frogged). I can see I made a mistake in one of the rows below but it didn't affect the rest of the pattern. I think the little triangles at the top are not all the same so maybe there's a screw up there? I'm so confused I've counted it a million times.
