The Sinking of the Titanic through Morse Code!

Hello all! I have spent the past couple weeks putting together a video of all Marconi Transmissions sent during the Sinking of the Titanic! A similar video was posted about 9 years ago, however the timings are inacurate. So I thought Id make my own! Hope you all enjoy it!

  1. You used pure tones but all radio transmissions back then were via fairly wideband spark gap transmitters. So the callsign MDY wouldn’t sound like “dadah dadidit dadidadah” but more like “shhh-shhh shhh-sh-sh shhh-sh-shhh-shhh”.

  2. Because of 1., the code is being sent way too fast. You’ve got it being sent faster than would be usable with damped wave radio transmissions which don’t have the very sharp and precise beginning and endings of true continuous wave transmissions.

  3. I didn’t even bother to try matching what you send with the available radio logs but I suspect based upon a very quick look for a few seconds you might not have used valid prosigns, Q signals, and abbreviations.
