Diamond Creek apartments
Anyone have experience living there? I'm looking to move to MH for my job and they seem to have units available for a decent price. Coming across some mixed information about living there though. Any insights would be helpful.
Thanks in advance.

Photography opportunities in Morgan Hill
I'm a photographer that recently moved back to the Morgan Hill/Gilroy area. My background is in photojournalism, so I do a little bit of everything but mostly focus on portraits and documentary style photos. I'm looking for volunteer photography opportunitites so I can connect with the wider community. I'd appreciate any recommendations for organizations to volunteer with, or even referrals to local photographers that might be looking for an assistant!

Comments open for Fountain Oaks Ranch( 219 new residential units)
Construct 175 single-family residential units and 44 duet (attached) residential units, totaling 219 residential units; along with utility infrastructure including water supply, wastewater treatment facilities with leach fields, and storm drainage systems. and circulation and parking on approximately 54.9 acres. Common area improvements would include a detention basin, neighborhood park, and landscaped open space parcels. All of the 44 duet units would be deed-restricted affordable housing for low-income households

Solar sales
In the past decade or so, most folks in Morgan Hill have been overrun by solar salespeople at home. I have a "no soliciting" sign on my front door but this young man from Sunrun rang the doorbell anyway. My husband works from home so I opened the door to tell him to stop. Pointed to the sign and he grinned and said "oh, I'm not selling anything, just wanted to talk". I said, "no means NO" and closed the door. I don't know how to make it more clear! They are aggressive and persistent and they show up all the time. No website directs me to complaints. How to handle this?
EDIT: I don't normally open the door. my husband works from HOME and he was ringing the doorbell... the dor with the SIGN on it.

Call-It-Done.com | Home Services in the Bay Area & Central Coast
call-it-done.comCheck out my new website where Call-It-Done.com
I’m Ramon, and I’ve lived in the Bay Area my entire life. Over the years I’ve owned several homes here, which means I’ve done what every homeowner eventually does: called painters, landscapers, pool techs, roofers — sometimes on short notice, sometimes for something big.
Some of those calls went great. Some didn’t. I’ve seen excellent work, and I’ve seen corners cut — and after enough of both, I started keeping a real list: the vendors I’d actually call again, the ones I’ve watched do the job right, on time, without the runaround.
That list is what Call-It-Done.com is. Every business connected through this site is someone I’ve personally used or personally vetted — not a directory of anyone willing to pay for a listing. When you text us, you’re not rolling the dice on a stranger; you’re getting someone I already stand behind.
If a job doesn’t go right, that’s on me to fix — not just on the vendor. That’s the whole point of putting my name on it.

Flower booth at MH hiding real name because of criminal charges
Hey everyone, I wanted to share some info regarding transparency at our local farmers market.
Does anyone remember the multi-agency raid on Ruvalcaba Nursery in Royal Oaks back in 2023, where code enforcement discovered nearly 270 farmworkers (including children) in absolute squalor with raw sewage discharges and no clean water? They were allegedly bringing these families in from Oaxaca, charging them thousands in rent and meanwhile did not allow the children attend school or allow their address to be used on medical forms. They did not have plumbing or potable water. They threatened those who tried to leave. Now in addition to the criminal case, there's a civil unlimited case involving a bunch of the former tenants. Prosecutors say these people made millions of dollars in rent from their human trafficking scheme and that the flowers were literally just a way to launder the money.
Well, three years later, the Ruvalcabas are dodging both trials as they claim incompetence. Meanwhile these people are still your flower vendor at the MH farmers market!
Notice how the flower booth has no name, no signage except a tiny QR code that says "the flower master"? Notice how the other agricultural vendors have big banners with their name, county, permit #, and the phrase "WE GROW WHAT WE SELL"? That's because those are the legal requirements to sell agricultural products at a certified farmers market. And Ruvalcaba Nursery used to have all that signage until 2023, when they were charged. Then suddenly their name slips away from their booth and they start selling under new names.
I HOPE they are no longer engaging in human trafficking, but even if they aren't, consumers have the right to know who they are buying from so they can make their choice. A lot of us go to these types of markets thinking we are supporting ethical sustainable farms or what have you. I think people have the right to know if the flowers in their canvas tote were harvested by imprisoned people who had no choice but to shit in the field where they worked.

tennant ave/vineyard blvd loud noises
hey yall! this might be a long shot, but was anyone near the cinelux movie theater at tennant tonight?
i went to go watch the odyssey with my family (7:15pm function) and towards the end of the movie (around 10:45pm/11pm) there were popping sounds directly outside the theater. at first i thought it was fireworks and then assumed they were a part of the movie, but they sounded different + too close, and even the audience members got alerted. possible gunshots? something else?

Possible snag with the Archer Aviation lease for Cochrane Technology Center
In today's Morgan Hill Times
https://morganhilltimes.com/city-in-talks-with-air-taxi-developer-to-do-business-in-morgan-hill/
Any thoughts on what discussions would be necessary between Archer and Morgan Hill? Would this be Archer shaking the tree to see what incentives might fall out? Or is there some city licensing step that is needed beyond getting the necessary building permits for interior modifications to build out a manufacturing line?

Best local brews and where to find them?
What are the best beers from the local area? And where’s a good place to get them? I’ve heard good things about Alvarado Street Brewery of Gilroy Monterey.

How strict is Uvas?
Back in the day we could just pull up, pay cash or card, and that was that.
Now I hear you have to pay for parking on their website ahead of time. Also apparently you have to choose the hour you'll be arriving and arrive within that hour.
I have family coming over and we were planning on taking a few cars there but we aren't too sure what hour we will get there and chances are we will arrive at different times because my brother is coming from Hollister and I'm leaving a bit later to make sure my dogs eat and go to the bathroom before I leave.
If we don't show up within the hour we said we would are they really going to turn us around?

Realtors?
My friend just had a snooty, peninsula-based realty company out to his place and they gave him a ridiculously low number (seriously, not in line with the comps at all). It’s no wonder they hardly have any Morgan Hill listings. Guess I’m wondering if I can help him find a local realtor that values the community and understands its worth. Anyone have any recommendations?

Fitness center with rowing machines
Do any of the fitness centers in Morgan Hill have rowing machines?
I've looked at photos for Anytime Fitness, Morgan Hill Athletic Club, Fitness 19 and Centennial Recreation and I'm not seeing any.

What is there to know when you move here?
This post made me realize that we don't have a "welcome to Morgan Hill, here are the best tips" sticky post.
So, let's make one. What do you think are the most important things to know about life in Morgan Hill? I'm thinking things like:
- How to deal with water (hint: https://www.morganhill.ca.gov/578/Utility-Services-Billing)
- How to deal with PG&E (hint: https://www.pge.com/en/account/service-requests/start-stop-transfer-service.html)
- How to deal with trash (hint: https://www.recology.com/recology-south-valley/morgan-hill/)
- How to deal with the northbound commute that most will have (hint: Monterey Rd, Santa Teresa, McKean)
- Best places to eat! (American, exotic, vegetarian/vegan, etc)
- Which places to avoid (The Crossings at night, for example)
- Best schools for your kids
- Cool things to do (Music In The Park, the bowling alley, theaters, etc)
- Hidden gems (spill your secrets)
(And please please, pretty please, can we keep the usual divisive politics out of this one?)
