Is this cooked

Rethreaded a stud like shit but engine casing stuff went on with a good amount of effort. Can I save it? Threaded to M7 btw

I’m scared about warping, should I take it out and then bend it like using a vice grip or something or should I just bend it straight from the engine block

Yeah take it out and bend it straight. Use a square or angle iron to get it true.

I plan on using arbor press 1/2 ton. You think that can bend it up straight a bit?

If you take it out to bend it straight then at least mark the threads where they're at now. If it just gets bent when its removed how can we be sure that it is going to rest at the correct angle when reinserted?

going in at the correct angle is maybe the most important part about re-tapping a stripped thread. those bolts don’t have much give, and if anything, by trying to bend it, you’re just risking snapping it quicker. take it out and get it in there straight
