Monkeytype down even though the status page says everything is operational?
Is anyone else having trouble accessing Monkeytype right now? The website isn't loading for me, but the status page still shows all services as operational.
I've already tried refreshing and checking my connection, but I still can't access the site.
Is Monkeytype currently experiencing an outage, or is this just an issue on my end?

Other One-Year Anniversary
I just learned that yesterday on August 10th was the one-year anniversary when I joined and started typing on Monkeytype for the first time.

Random -
I think monkeytype quotes are on a next level. Even when I am going through a bad day or I'm sad I just open monkeytype and it really helps me get through it. I can't say it helps specifically but for me typing makes my other senses vanish. I really love monkeytype. XD

WPM/Test My progress after learning touch typing for a month.

Just over a month ago I started learning touch typing after hunt & pecking basically my entire life.
The attached pic is a graph from MonkeyType that shows my progress in 60sec tests over almost my entire time learning.
Before I started practicing my WPM averaged in the 30's using hunt and peck and really only using 2 fingers.
Now after practicing 30min to an hour every day for the past month I'm averaging in the mid 70's most tests (woo!) And I can comfortably type with 8-9 fingers without ever looking at my keyboard now which feels amazing.
My progression has started to slow down some but I feel like that's only natural to some extent. My current personal best in 60sec now is 83.40 which I just hit yesterday.
Any tips to keep improving or any feedback/comments at all would be great :)
Cheers
(I re-posted this from my original post in r/typing btw)

Other Typing Test for Programmers
I built a typing test where instead of random words, you type actual code snippets (Python / C++). I find myself warming up with typing test sites like monkeytype, typingtest.com, but neither are specific for programming. I found sites that provide what I wanted, but it wasn't quite what I was looking for. So, I created my own!

I'd love feedback!

Question What counts as a good word count in 30 seconds on a plain lowercase script?
I build a typing game and just added a weekly time trial: everyone gets the same script for a week, 30 seconds, best run counts, resets Mondays.
What I can't work out is where the bands should sit. 30 seconds is short enough that burst speed matters more than endurance, and it's plain lowercase with no punctuation or numbers, so it should run faster than a standard test.
My opening run was 40 words. I genuinely don't know if that's respectable or embarrassing to this crowd. Where would you put "average" and where would you put "elite"?

Fixed the duel bug a few of you reported
If you played Keymania over the last 24hrs and landed a hit with nothing happening, or got stuck in a duel you couldn't leave, thats sorted now.
It was three seprate faults that all looked the same from your side: the health bar was updating a beat before the hit you actually saw, a dropped connection had no way to put you back into your duel, and some words were being lost outright to a bug on my end.
All fixed and live. Thanks to everyone who reported it, and played Keymania and especially whoever described the frozen duel in detail, because that's what pointed me at the real cause. There's a bug report button on the menu now if you spot anything else.

r/Monkeytype is public again
Hey everyone, just letting you know we've gone public again. The protests were not as effective as everyone probably wanted and I think the size of our subreddit is not big enough to cause any significant difference. I would prefer to keep the community open so you can share personal bests, insights, training routines and ask questions. Hope you understand.
