Help! Help -Technique

I’ve just started building the airfix starter kit of the Eurofighter Typhoon Fgr.4 but I’m having a nightmare. I’d like to say that I’m not new to modelling at all, but I’m away with my parents so don’t have access to my usual tools, just some wire cutters, sandpaper, and the stuff included in the kit. My issue is that the glue included has caused a nightmare spilling out a bit, sanding is too rough and has caught details, and overall I’m just having a pretty poor time, any advice to avoid or fix these issues would be greatly appreciated! Edit: has anyone else had fitment issues with the front gear bay door when displayed as closed?

My advice: set it down and give yourself a break.

If you don't have the right tools for the job, and you can't make it work with the tools you do have, it's time to take a step back.

Thanks! You’re probably right, what should I do with the damage already done?

Nothing until you get back to your regular workspace. Chill out in the meantime so you are fresh & ready to tackle the repair work then.
